Lighting Issues The lights that are in the studio could be broken or not work properly. Someone may already be using them on the time when I have scheduled my photo shoot meaning that I cant use them.

Hazard: Cables What could cause harm? Someone could trip of the cables on the floor. What is the likelihood of this happening? Not very high as I will make sure people know they are there and will try to move them out of the way. How much harm? Depends on whether someone falls over or just trips. If someone falls over they could hurt themselves, as they would land on quite a hard surface. Apply the following priorities, how will this risk be managed (provide detail)? I will try to reduce the chances of this happening by moving them out of the way so there is less chance of someone falling over them. I will try to control it happening by telling people about them and making it clear that they could cause harm.

Hazard: Electricity What could cause harm? There might be a loose wire or the plastic around some wires might be split meaning that someone could get electrocuted. What is the likelihood of this happening? Not very high as the studio is in college meaning that is probably going to be safe as students have to use it. How much harm? If this does happen it probably wouldnt cause much harm, as there probably wouldnt be much wiring exposed but if there was a lot of wire exposed then it could cause someone a lot of harm. Apply the following priorities, how will this risk be managed (provide detail)? (1) Eliminate. (2) Reduce or substitute (3) Isolate (4) Control. (5) Personal protective equipment To reduce the chances of this happening I will make sure that there arent any wires, which could be harmful before the photo, shoot takes place. However this hazard probably wont happen, as the wires will most likely all be safe.

Hazard: Fire/flammable materials What could cause harm? If there were a fire the paper that is used to create a white background would catch fire very easily. What is the likelihood of this happening? Probably not very high because there isnt much chance of fire starting out in the area of college which has the photography studio in it. How much harm? If it happened it would probably cause quite a lot of harm as it could burn someone or kill them. It could also trap someone in the room and they could be in a lot of danger. Apply the following priorities, how will this risk be managed (provide detail)? (1) Eliminate. (2) Reduce or substitute (3) Isolate (4) Control. (5) Personal protective equipment If there is a fire trying to stop this from happening would be very hard however I will make sure that the door isnt blocked during the photo shoot so that it is easy for people to get out if there was a fire.
