Sub: Status of eGov Campus initiatives at VNRVJIET

VNRVJIET, an autonomous Institution strives for the quality of education in the engineering education to satisfy its vision and to meet the requirements of present society. The institute has initiated the novel concept of In-house research funding from the year 2007-08. This is to encourage the faculty to actively involve research and consultancy work besides their regular academic activities. This is also helpful to the present student community to take part in the on-going project works. In the last three years the Institute funded directly an amount Rs. 1.78 Crores under the Inhouse research projects scheme. On-going Research Projects 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Comparative study of Weld characteristics of IS:65032A aluminum alloy by two processes friction stir welding (FSW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW). 9. Multi scale mechanical methods for characterization of bone and biomatirials. 10. Experimental Study of influences of pulsed current and non-pulsed current Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on 6082 Aluminium Alloy Weldments. 11. Glimpses of most popular woks carried out at VNRVJIET 1.Driving simulators for Indian environment. One of the Major Projects Successfully Completed is the Development of Driving Simulator. This project has been supported by M/S X_Design Ventures Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad under collaboration with M/S Autosim; Norway This project provides excellent training facilities for learning driving under various simulated conditions of roads and terrain. Project was already commercialized.

2. Automated Commando Training System. Automated Commando Training System (ACTS) has been developed to train the commandos in simulated environment of terrorist attacks and preparedness. The Project was successfully demonstrated to central Home Minister Sri P.Chidambaram during his visit to Grey Hounds AP Police. Fully developed system was supplied to National Police Academy under the Commercial Order. Products delivered to National Police Academy and Greyhounds, Hyderabad.

Project Arcade and Compendium: This is another initiation of VNRVJIET that every academic year the faculty community of VNRVJIET will exhibit list of projects and abstracts through a booklet called PROJECT ARCADE. This is a collection projects related to research, societal need and industry oriented. Students can select the project of interest from the list and can do the project under the supervision of the concerned faculty.

The best projects exhibited by the student community will be awarded and been published through a booklet called PROJECT COMPENDIUM which gives a good motivation and encouragement to the next student level community.
