g the issue of adultery, I want to make a stand and say, I beg to disagree. They are favoring civil law against criminal law as they believe that criminal law imposes punishments that are harsher than the punishments or the so!called legal obligations in civil law. "ecriminali#ing the law on adultery will make things a lot more complicated. If civil laws will be used to address marital problems with the decriminali#ation of adultery, this $ust gives license to people to enter into several marital relationships one after the other especially if the offender is rich and capable of paying all damages incidental to the nullification of marital contracts. %&ample' In the (), where adultery is defined as consensual se&ual relations when one of the participants is legally married to another and adultery is not criminali#ed, having illicit affairs or e&tra marital relationships is never punished or penali#ed. )imilarly, in no!fault divorce *or dissolution+ states, adultery becomes legally not relevant. (nfortunately, because of such decriminali#ation, many ,ilipino nurses become victims of abuse with their spouses being free to cheat on them. These ,ilipinos need to pay alimony $ust to seek divorce and cut their marital relations with their cheating husbands. -ith only civil law, marriages will $ust be considered a material thing, creating primarily monetary obligations with the sanctity of marriage not being given paramount consideration. People will not give premium on the value of marriage. They will no longer have the urge to keep the marriage strong but they will easily give up on the marriage. )omeone who has money or a rich person can pay for all the damages and could enter into another relationship without ending the previous one. This can be an unending cycle of paying for damages and having other relationships. Thus the value of marriage is no longer considered.

Problems may arise between children from the original family and children from the other family. Thus, the notion of the rights of the legitimate and illegitimate will enter the scene. -ith broken families, this will produce more undesirable citi#ens of the country. The impact of adultery is so severe on children that it is akin to parental abuse, neglect and abandonment.

In conclusion, decriminali#ing will $ust refocus the people2s orientation of marriage from being sacred to something material or monetary. The concept of marriage won2t be valued and respected in decriminali#ing adultery and will result to more broken families, more illegitimate children which does not bring harmony and betterment to the society, the family being the basic unit of society.

Also the people see adultery as the one which destroy the value of life ! the sacred value of constitutional marriage. our stance is clear, we want to ban adultery simply by criminali#ing all kind of adultery so that the society will feel the deterrence effect and it will prevent all the harm from adultery itself. -e see adultery as an act that will bring not only psychological harm but also other practical harm such as unfairness of giving time , money , and other stuff that a marriage couple needed. 1y doing that, the value of life of those that are left behind will eventually broken down and their rights of pursuing happiness are being obstruct by one7s act, when they suppose to pursuit is together because they already have marriage. Because children is weak and they are so fragile that they need protection in order to preserve their future life. The fact is a broken home or mentally break child has more tendency to have mislead their life for example such as joining gangster, using drugs and so on. Why the government have to step in? Because the government have to be there as the highest authority that must give fairness towards all citi en mostly giving the opportunities for them to pursuit their happiness together and prevent any abusive act at all cost, thus making the citi en safe with their right when the government protects it and also to prevent harms that can be happen because of the citi en!s individual interest.
