You are an international applicant if a visa is required to reside and study in the United States. A U.S. citizen,

permanent resident, refugee or asylee who currently lives and studies outside the U.S. is considered a domestic applicant with foreign credentials. Regardless of residency status, if you are applying from a school abroad, you should follow the same procedures and timetables as applicants applying from schools located in the United States. International students who complete secondary school in the United States are generally expected to meet the same requirements as U.S. students. As an undergraduate, you may apply for admission as a freshman

(rst-year) or as a transfer student. You are a freshman applicant if you completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university. You are a transfer applicant if you have successfully completed college level coursework amounting to 90-130 quarter (60-90 semester) units of credit and the lower-division courses required for your major course of study. You may not disregard your college record and apply as a freshman. Learn more about transfer at: http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/ prospect/Adm_tr/tradms.htm

There is no single academic path we expect all students to follow, but the strongest applicants take the most rigorous secondary school curriculum available to them.
