INTERNATIONALIZATION
MEANS

a process of "making something international" internationalization is a response to the international, to globalization internationalization includes both international and local elements (intercultural). University should be an international with values of higher education through developing global networking

I N T E R N AT I O N A L I Z AT I O N of higher education

WHY INTERNATIONALIZATION?
1. Academic and professional requirements for graduates increasingly reflect the demand of globalization of society, economies and labour market, and thus higher education must provide an adequate preparation for that (incl. multilingualism, social and intercultural skills and attitudes) 2. The level of specialization in research and the size of investments that are indispensable to certain field of research and development require collaborative efforts and intensive international cooperation.
B r i g h t e n t h e F u t u r e w i t h t h e N e w A g r i c u l t u r e 4

3. The recruitment of foreign students has become a significant factor for institutional NETWORK and of national economic interest. 4. The use of new information and communication technologies in the delivery of education and the involvement of private actors in this meant that national borders and the role of national governments in education become blurred.
(After Qiang, 2003)

Higher education a real part of globalisation process (cross border matching between supply and demand)
