Prof. Ir. Dr Wahid Bin Omar
Prof Ir. Dr Wahid Bin Omar is a Professor in Structural Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Beginning September 2013 he was appointed as Vice-Chancellor/President of the University. Prior to the present appointment he was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) (200112013) and Director, Office of Asset and Development (2008-2011). He is also a Registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineer Malaysia. He is a member of various professional bodies such as Asian Concrete Forum, American Concrete Institute (KL Chapter) and Institution of Engineers Malaysia. His area of expertise includes structural assessment, reinforced and pre-stressed concrete. His latest research is investigating innovative technique in improving the ductility of high strength concrete. He has developed interest in project management and sustainability, in which he has a vision that all development must be sustainable and to transform UTM campus into a sustainable campus.

Prof. Barney Glover


Professor Barney Glover has been ViceChancellor of Charles Darwin University in the Northern Territory since February 2009. He has a record of success in university management and leadership, particularly in research, intellectual property management, and capital development. Previously Deputy ViceChancellor at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Professor Glover also has significant business leadership credentials through membership on the boards of a range of corporate organisations and several state and national centres covering areas such as health and medical research, energy, mineral exploration and processing, and telecommunications. He has a strong interest in commercialisation of intellectual property and has served as a foundation Board member for a variety of start-up companies and new ventures developing technology in the ITC, engineering and medical device industries. Professor Glover holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and has an extensive research record in the field, particularly in optimization and operations research and mathematics education. Before relocating to Newcastle in 2006, Professor Glover held several positions at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia.

YBhg Datin Prof Ir Dr Siti Hamisah binti Tapsir


Datin Professor Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah bt Tapsir is currently the Deputy Director General, of the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia. Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah is a Civil Engineer by training and had worked in Malaysia and US before joining Universiti Teknologi Malaysia as a Dean in year 2001. She was later appointed as a Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic and Internationalisation, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), from year 2006-2009. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, Malaysia; Professional Engineer, Board of Engineers, Malaysia; an Associate Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers; and an Honorary Member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, USA. Among the awards and distinctions she received are Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Award (MCIEA 2009) (R&D); Excellence Service Award, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2002 and 2008); Woman of the Year Award (2005) for Selangor State, Malaysia; Lady Engineers Award (1st Recipient), Institute of Engineers Malaysia (2005); and an European Union Grant of RM600,000 for research on Time-Dependent Deformation of Masonry (1992-1996). She is also a Visiting Professor at Heibei Normal University, Heibei, China (2008-2011), a Visiting Professor at Hebei University, Hebei, China (2008-present); and a Visiting Professor at Beihang University, Beijing, China (2008-2009). Ir. Dr. Siti Hamisah has written numerous books and publications both national and international level.

Prof. Martin Carroll


Martin has been Pro Vice-Chancellor at CDU since April 2010. His responsibilities include academic planning, learning and teaching, learning technologies, professional development, academic partnerships and academic quality assurance. Martin is a leader in academic quality assurance. He is the primary architect of the quality assurance systems for tertiary education in the Sultanate of Oman and in the Dubai Free Zones, where he is a Member of the Universities Quality Assurance International Board. He serves as an expert reviewer in several countries including Saudi Arabia, Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong. Before to his appointments in the Arabian Peninsula, Martin was an Audit Director at the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA). In addition to undertaking audits of institutions and higher education accrediting agencies, he led the establishment of Australia's national Good Practice Database and the Australian Universities Quality Forum. Prior to Australia Martin worked at Massey University and Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, where he specialised in academic quality and lectured in management.

Prof. Dr. Rose Alinda Binti Alias


Prof Dr Rose Alinda Binti Alias is the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International). She was the Chairperson of Malaysian Deans of Graduate Schools Council (MyDEGS) from Jan 1, 2010 until Jan 12, 2012. She served various administrative posts in UTM including as the dean for UTM School of Graduate Studies Dean (1 Aug 2009 -14 Jan 2012), UTM Graduate School of Engineering Dean (1 Aug 2007 31 July 2009), Deputy Dean (Project Management & Finance), UTM Research Management Center (1 April 2005 - 31 Mar 2007). She intensifies the internationalisation efforts in UTM.

Prof. Jeremy Williams


Professor Jeremy B. Williams is the Director of the Asia Pacific Management Centre, Deputy Director of the Asia Pacific Centre for Sustainable Enterprise and advisor to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) in the area of online learning at Griffith University. With more than 25 years of experience in the higher education sector, Jeremy joined Griffith in 2012 having spent almost a decade living and working in Singapore where he held the positions of Chief Academic Officer (Global Operations) at Knowledge Universe (a large private education company), and before that, Dean of Corporate Programs and Director of Research at U21Global (the online graduate school founded by the Universities 21 consortium of universities). Prior to this, he served as Teaching Fellow and MBA Director at Queensland University of Technology. Jeremy is also Visiting Professor at Reims Management School (France) and the Asian International College (Singapore). A pioneer and specialist in the field of online education, Jeremy has won the recognition of his peers having publishing widely in this area and acted as a keynote speaker at numerous international seminars and conferences. Jeremys main research focus is authentic learning environments and the ways in which learning experiences might be better contextualised using digital technologies to promote greater student engagement and deeper learning. This has been of particular interest to educational institutions in both the secondary and tertiary sectors, and to businesses looking to optimise their expenditure on corporate education. A PhD economist with a special interest in sustainable development, Jeremy has published in a number of leading academic journals in this area, including Ecological Economics, and has taught graduate level courses in sustainable development at business schools in France, India, Singapore, Australia both on

campus and online, and in a blended delivery format. He is a member of the International Society for Ecological Economics and the Australia Institute. Welsh by birth, Jeremy completed his BA and MA degrees in the UK, and spent three years teaching at a high school in Yorkshire before commencing his PhD studies at the University of New England, Australia.

Prof. Dr. Abd Karim Bin Alias


Prof. Dr. Abd Karim bin Alias is the Director of Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He is also a Professor of Food Technology at the university. Prof. Dr. Abd Karim Bin Alias has great interest in using internet as an alternative medium for learning and teaching. He has developed a comprehensive e-learning course/portal and a special website called Virtual Food Science & Technology Library. In 2002, Prof. Dr. Abd Karim Bin Alias received the inaugural USM Excellent Educator Award and Hall of Fame Award under the same category from USM. He is also the recipient of Anugerah Akademik Negara (National Academic Award) 2008 for teaching category.

A/Prof. Claire Macken


Associate Professor Claire Macken is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Future Learning) at La Trobe University (2013-). She holds a PhD in Law, a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours, and a Bachelor of Arts degree. Associate Professor Macken is the author of five books as well as several book chapters and journal articles in both law and higher education. She is a nationally award-winning teacher, with an ALTC Australian Award for Teaching Excellence (2009), an ALTC Australian Citation for her work in relation to the First Year Experience and an ADC Australian Leadership Award (2010). Prior to her appointment as Pro Vice-Chancellor, Associate Professor Macken was the Director of Flexible and Online Learning (2011-2012). This role was to lead the design, development, implementation and evaluation of flexible, online and blended learning approaches in subjects and courses across the University through collegial, professional, accessible and sustainable design and utilising and investigating existing and new technologies for this purpose. Prior to these roles at La Trobe University, Associate Professor Macken was the Associate Head of School (Teaching and Learning) and Associate Professor in the School of Law at Deakin University. Associate Professor Macken has also led and been involved in many curriculum projects, including most recently a collaboration in a development project Rethinking Law Curriculum Associate Professor Macken has recently led a project on developing subjects on the online learning platform iTunes U, (2013) and La Trobe's 'Radical Learning Project', a project that imagined the future of teaching and learning beyond 2017.

Prof. Dr. Rozhan Bin Mohammed Idrus


Prof. Dr. Rozhan Bin Mohammed Idrus is a Professor of Open and Distance Learning & Technogogy at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Prof. Dr. Rozhan Bin Mohammed Idrus is the first Professor of Open and Distance Learning (ODL) appointed in a public institution of higher learning in Malaysia. He is also the Founding Chief Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Educational Technology, the Chief Editor of the International Journal of Excellence in e-Learning (based in Dubai) and is a member of the Editorial Board of ten international journals. He has given a definition to the term technogogy and is passionately promoting it.

Prof Dr. Zulikha Binti Jamaludin


Prof Dr. Zulikha Binti Jamaludin is a professor in Interaction Design. She is also the Deputy Director, Center for Teaching and Learning, at Universiti Utara Malaysia. Prof Dr. Zulikha Binti Jamaludin at the same time holds the position as Panel of Malaysia Qualification Agency, Editorial Members of the International Journal of ICT (JICT), and Consulting editor for the Journal Of International Studies. Her specializations are Interaction Design (IxD), Human-Computer Interface and Multimedia-supported Learning.

Mr Jonathan Churchill
Jonathan Churchill is Director, Information Technology and Resources at James Cook University (JCU). Jonathan has almost 20 years experience in the IT industry, and has lived and worked in Australia, the UK and South Africa, has two Masters degrees (including an MBA from AGSM), holds a BSc(Hons) from the Imperial College of Science, London and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Currently leading IT at JCU (a regional Australian University with main campuses in Townsville, Cairns and Singapore, and many diverse smaller sites) he has also led IT Services at the University of Adelaide, a member of the Group of Eight. Jonathan can therefore demonstrate a wide understanding and deep appreciation of the challenges and opportunities facing the whole sector. Jonathans notable achievements include turning around customer satisfaction with IT services, reforming ICT governance, leading deep engagement between central IT and Faculties, has led software projects in excess of $20m, has led a project that won the Global Innovation Award from Oracle in San Francisco. Jonathan has worked across many industry verticals including the mining sector, but is particularly passionate about learning, teaching and research as public goods, the key role of education in supporting Australian economic and national success, and the central strategic role of technology in transforming higher education in Australia.

A/Prof. Hanizam bin Sulaiman


A/Prof. Hanizam bin Sulaiman is the Deputy Director of Centre For Information and Communication Technology, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He contributes extensively towards the development of ICT infrastructure in UTM covering teaching and learning to research and administrations. His expertise includes renewal energy from solid plastics waste Production Chemicals for Oil and Gas Industrial and Solid waste management. He is also a silver member of SPE, AIChE of US and IChemE of UK.

Prof. Dr. Baharuddin Bin Aris


Prof. Baharuddin Aris has made significant contributions in Engineering and Computing Education as well as in Multimedia and Internet-based Learning. He serves as Director of Centre for Teaching and Learning at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia since 2009 and Chairman of Malaysian Higher Education Teaching and Learning Council or MAGNETIC 2011-2012. Based on his expertise and experiences, he has been invited as a guest speaker and a keynote speaker in and outside Malaysia. He has also published extensively in the area of Computer Science and applications, Engineering and Computing Education, and Multimedia and Internet-based Learning. In addition, he is also Editor-in-Chief (ASEAN Journal of Engineering Education), Editorial Board Member and Reviewers for journals with impact factor such as Australasian Journal of Educational Technology and International Journal of Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning
