Performing, checking and approving pipe stress analysis calculations for piping systems according national and international design codes e.g. ASME, RToD, EN. Generating, checking and approving pipe stress analysis reports for Notified Bodies (authorities). Gathering information from and deliver input to other disciplines. Reviewing client specifications and engineering data from other disciplines. Giving advice to the piping design group for adjustments in supporting and / or piping layout Handling large size project independently. Acting as lead engineer on a project responsible for more than 2 stress engineers. Coordination of stress engineers in other offices (work share).

Piping stress engineers to work on the Long Harbour Nickel Processing Plant project located in Long Harbour, Newfoundland, Canada. The successful candidate will be working in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. The piping materials of construction are mainly carbon steel, rubber lined carbon steel, and significant quantities of FRP. Duties typically involve addressing all piping stress related aspects of piping including interfacing with vendors, clients, and plant construction. It also involves responding to requests for information from the project site. Under general supervision, the piping stress engineers apply an extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in piping stress related work, and make decisions independently on engineering problems and methods. The successful candidate(s) will: - Perform piping stress analyses for pressure piping systems in mineral processing plants using Autopipe software package - Perform piping stress analysis of piping systems that consist of grooved fittings which are typically used in mineral processing plants. - Perform piping stress analysis of simple systems by visual inspection with quick manual calculations if needed. - Design special piping supports that are not within the standards being used on the project. - Provide technical support/consultation during the completion of the design phase and during the construction phase.
