FEATURE WALL
CONCEPT: For this wall I wanted to find an interesting and playful way to represent waste management, an important topic that is taught and enfrced by teachers and parents. The most shocking information that I came across is the amount of time waste takes to decompose and what our landfills are made up of. I decided to show this by telling a story starting with what happens in a house and ending with the landfill. In the mock up I have added elevations to creat more interaction and visual interest. ON THIS WALL: 1) The info house 2) The decomposition time line 3) Global waste managment 4) Toxic waste effects on the human body 5) What our landfills are made up of

WALL #1 CONCEPT: This is one big info graphic, This whole wall represents scale. I wanted to get across how much water, trees and energy your can save by recycling. I also wanted it to look unique, so I chose to try an alternative to putting plastic bottles on a wall. This wall is simple but the goal is to communicate a strong message. WALL #2 CONCEPT: Its all about water. I wanted to show how much water it takes to create the food we eat. I myself never realized how significant this was, so I thought it would be good to inform other kids. WALL#3 CONCEPT: This bright wall is a simple way of drawing people down the hall to the alcove. Its also a large title to showcase what the alcove is all about. FONT: Body Text-Univers 47 condensed Sub Tiles- Cenery Gothic Title- Univers 57

FEATURE WALL - INTERACTION

INTERACTION #1 I would like the garbage truck to ba able to have its bucket move. The kids can make it move like they are picking up the garbage.

INTERACTION #2 I would also like the tires to ba able to spin.

INTERACTION #3 This info graphic it to showcase the hoped for percentage of waste managment for the future, There is a door that opens on each bin to show the amount of waste.

INTERACTION #4 This is the front door of the house. The door opens and explains what is going on in the house

FEATURE WALL - TIME LINE

The time line which starts at the Icon represents the years it takes objects to decompose, in a bar graph style. The Icons were originally mean to spin on a pole that runs through them. but when building the model I eliminated it. On the other side of the circle is the color that sourounds the object which states if it should be recycled, garbage, or Composed.

FEATURE WALL - TOXIC WASTE EFFECTS

I think its more motivating to know the effects of toxic waste on the human body, which in return is more effective in making me recycle. With this said, I didnt want to make it the focus so its smaller and more informational then preaching.

ELEVATIONS With the limitations of model building I have been able to place some elevations. But with this said there are many other opportunities to create more elevations as well as a variety of different variations of elevations.
