window of a slightly lower market be-
fore the Thanksgiving pull starts. The
biggest challenge that we will face
is air freight out of South America,
which is extremely volatile and con-
tinuing to climb.

As Mexican fruit volume increases,
markets are now coming off and
quality is good. Larger size markets
are scarce and increasing.

Markets are steady on continued light
supplies. Quality is fair.

Markets are stable as supplies increase

Rain at planting in the Arizona

In addition, recent cooler tem-
peratures have delayed product
from reaching a maturity level
to harvest. The adverse weather
has impacted the crop with lower
yields, (currently at about 20%
yield) creating a demand exceeds
situation on supplies. We antici-
pate the current markets to remain
active and unsettled for the next
2-4 weeks.

Markets are starting to strengthen
due to holiday demand. White On-
ion markets remain strong. Overall
quality is good.
green peppers &
squash
The Green Pepper market is stron-
ger as cooler weather in Georgia
slows down supplies. Green and
Yellow Squash markets are steady
from Florida and Georgia.
red and yellow
peppers
California Colored Pepper markets
are steady on light supplies.
potatoes
The Idaho Potato market is steady
on larger sizes. Smaller size markets;
however, are active due to in-
creased retail pull in anticipation of
the impending holidays.

Roma markets are easing as
Florida areas start. Round, Cherry
and Grape markets are gaining
strength.

Overall, Grape markets are starting
to strengthen, quality is good and
demand is steady. Green Grape
markets remain strong.
lettuce
Iceberg markets are lower with
better supplies, as harvesting has
begun in Huron. The Romaine mar-
ket is weaker with better supplies
and good quality.
