THE BRIEF

As an artist its important that you are able to look beyond the obvious and fully explore any given stimulus. This process will give you the opportunity to work as part of a larger ensemble company and developing your movement skills. You will produce a movement piece using a picture from the Guardian Eye as a stimulus. Inspired by this picture you will produce a devised piece of work lasting no longer than eight minutes. The piece will be highly physical and visual, however words and mime are not appropriate. The entire company is expected to contribute to the research, devising and development of the final performance. You will learn how to execute movement actions, apply spatial awareness and dynamic principles and have an understanding of relationships in movement. You will take part in a variety of group discussions, blogging and sharing and this will contribute to your course requirements. Professional Practice: Please be aware that you will be putting professional practice into action within The Miskin Theatre, which is a publicly licensed professional environment in which you are effectively an intern being given the opportunity to publicly test your skills and gain creditable industrial experience .

What you need to do Task 1- (Unit 49- GC1) Evidence = Observation, DVD Take part in workshops demonstrating execution of movement actions in a practical way. For example, different ways to travel, turn, elevate, gesticulate and the use of stillness. Task 2- (Unit 49- GC2, CG3) Evidence = Observation, Tumblr, DVD Apply spatial awareness with confidence, demonstrating application of different dynamics principles. Research and write about these principles in your Tumblr diary. Task 3- (Unit 49- GC4) Evidence = Observation, DVD Demonstrate your creativity through dance by devising a section of the Without Words piece. Task 4-.
