The Power of a Meek Heart

Meekness is a very subtle yet powerful character given to some of Gods chosen people. Some words that describe meekness are: mild, humble, gentle, tame, submissive, and soft. There is a great difference between meekness and low self esteem. !ndeed, if anyone wants to be great in their life, let him or her adopt the spirit of meekness. "ou can see the power of the spirit of meekness in the biblical scripture, when #esus gave his sermon on the Mount: Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Matthew $:$ Moses was the meekest man on the face of the earth, and he was also one of the greatest men. %ow self esteem is a negative attribute, which may result from physical appearance, genetic factors, poverty, and so on. &owever, meekness is a positive attribute and a virtue given to man by God. !f we study the stories and lives of the most highly successful people, we would be able to trace some elements of meekness in their characters. The meek are able to e'cel because they are not only submissive to man but also to God. To be meek is not to be weak. (hen man reads or hears all of Gods words and believes, and follows them as a child would accept everything, he or she is e'hibiting a significant sign of meekness. (hen God called Moses to go lead the !sraelites out of bondage in )gypt, Moses meekness led him to tell God that he was not capable of facing the *haraoh, given that he was slow in speech. Mind you, Moses was academically well trained in )gypt, but he still took care to humble himself. &owever, in this modern age, a person with a doctoral degree may put their shoulders too high and thus become unapproachable. (hile the end results of low self esteem are depression, re+ection, alienation, hibernation, and so on, the end results of meekness are signs, wonders, favor, honor, and ultimate greatness. ,nother meek man of the bible was #esus. -an you imagine the all powerful child of God, the alpha and the omega, the king of kings operating under
