The Sabbath Mark 2:27 The Sabbath was something that was made. It was made for man.

n. Man was not made for the Sabbath. Therefore, the Sabbath is like a service to man. Genesis 2:2 God Himself rested on the seventh day. It was on the seventh day that God ended His work. Genesis 2:3 Of the seven days of the weekly cycle, God Himself blessed the seventh day. He also sanctified it. God sanctified this day because it was when He Himself rested from His work of creating. This was done after man was created. It was created after the six days of creation. It was also done before the fall of man. Exodus 20:8-11 God told us to remember the Sabbath Day. He told us to keep the Sabbath Day Holy. God commanded us to do all of our work in six days. The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord our God. God does not fail to tell us which days to work. Neither does He fail of telling us with day is the Sabbath which we should remember. Us, our sons and daughters, humans who work for us, animals who work for us, and people who come under our household should not work on the seventh day. God wants us to work for six days and rest on the seventh day because He Himself worked for six days and rested the seventh day. Ezekiel 20:12 God gave man the sabbath. Therefore the sabbath is a gift. God gave us the sabbath so that it could be a sign between us and Him. God gave us the gift of the sabbath so that we may know that He is the One who sanctifies us. Exodus 31:17 The sabbath is a sign between God and the children of Israel. God was refreshed after resting on the Sabbath. Luke 4:16 Jesus Himself went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day. He stood up to read on that day Comparing this verse to 1 Peter 2:21 and 1 John 2:6, we should follow the example of Jesus and worship on the Sabbath since it was one of the things He did.

Acts 18:4 Paul went to the synagogue on sabbath. He tried to go to the synagogue every sabbath. Paul had discussions of a persuasive nature on the sabbath with Jews and Greeks. Acts 17:2 Paul habitually went to the synagogue. He reasoned with people from the Bible on the sabbath. Acts 13:42 Sabbaths seemed to occur weekly post the crucifixion event. The Gentiles were wanting the word of God to be preached to them next Sabbath. Acts 16:13 Prayer was made outside. This occurred on the Sabbath. Sabbath observance does not hinge upon attending a literal synagogue. Matthew 24:20 Jesus expected future sabbath observance after His death. Revelation 12:17 The dragon is wroth with the woman. The dragon makes war with the woman's seed. The seed of this woman are made up of those who obey the ten commandments. The seed of this woman also possess the testimony of Jesus Christ(Revelation 19:10) Revelation 14:12 The saints keep the commandments of God. Therefore, the seed of the woman are saints. The saints have the faith of Jesus. Therefore, the saints are the seed of the woman who have the testimony of Jesus Christ and obey the ten commandments. Revelation 22:14 Those who obey the ten commandments are blessed. There is no blessing without obedience. The blessing lies in having the right to eat from the tree of life and to enter the holy city. Isaiah 66:22-23 The sabbath will be kept by those who inherit the new earth The sabbath will be perpetual in nature. The saved will worship God perpetually on the sabbath in the new earth. Luke 23:52-24:1-3 The sabbath was still kept after the death of Jesus. The ladies rested on the sabbath day because of what the commandment said. The first day of the week is the day Jesus was resurrected.

Mark 15:42 The preparation day is the day before the sabbath. This is the day that Jesus died(See Luke 23:52-54) Proverbs 30:5-6 All of God's words are pure. God Himself is a shield to those who trust in Him. Those who add to God's words will be reproved. Those who add to God's words are liars. Genesis 1:5 According to God, the day starts with the evening time. Mark 1:32 Evening time is when the sun sets. Therefore, it is the time when a day begins. Leviticus 23:32 The sabbath day begins at evening and lasts until the next evening. Exodus 20:10 The seventh day is God's Sabbath. It is not man's Sabbath, nor the Jews Sabbath. Isaiah 58:13 The sabbath is God's holy day. Mark 2:28 As the rulers of the Gentiles exercise lordship over the Gentiles, so Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath, rules the Sabbath. Therefore, the Sabbath is Christ's. Isaiah 56:2-7 The man who does not pollute the Sabbath is blessed The man who refrains from doing evil is blessed. Eunuchs who please God, keep His Sabbaths, and take a hold of God's covenant will obtain an everlasting name. Strangers and everyone else who keeps the Sabbath, refrains from polluting the sabbath, and takes a hold of God's covenant will go to God's holy mountain. Isaiah 58:13 The Sabbath is God's holy day. It is something that can be polluted. This is done by following your own ways on Sabbath. Those who are faithful in keeping the sabbath will be fed with the heritage of Jacob and will be made to ride upon the high places of the earth. Ezekiel 46:1 Sabbath is not a day to do work. Work is to be done on any of the six working days. Since there are only seven days in the week, this makes Sunday one of the six working days.
