A Church. In it he lists ten factors that are
commonly present in churches that are growing.

O The growing church consistently teaches
people Biblical truths in relatonal and
practcal ways.

O The growing church plans worship
assemblies that help people connect with God.

O The growing church has leaders who are
people of faith, humility, and character.

O The growing church strives to do everything
with excellence.

O The growing church is willing to step out in
faith and try things that are so big that if God
isnt in it failure is assured.

and cooperaton between its leaders and the
congregaton.

themselves as ministers and partcipants in
ministry rather than merely recipients.

In the coming weeks I will use this column space
to discuss each of these factors and explore how
they apply to the Gallup Church of Christ.

Laverne Saunders, grandmother of Jef
Foster, passed away on Friday morning at
University Medical Center in Lubbock, Tex-
as. A graveside service will be held in Pam-
pa, Texas tomorrow, and a memorial ser-
vice will be held on Tuesday in Shallowater,
Texas. Jef will be ofciatng the services.

Nancy Foster is stll waitng for the head
and neck surgeon to schedule a surgery
date to remove her right Mastoid bone.

Gina Houghtaling had surgery on Tuesday
to remove a wedge of her lef lung that
was cancerous. A spot on her right lung
was removed previously, and some other
small spots of cancer have been identfed.
She is recuperatng from surgery and will
begin chemotherapy soon.

Josiah Jones, son of Ken & Lillian Jones,
has recently graduated and moved to Den-
ver, Colorado. Pray that he will fnd a job.

Isaiah Morgan, son of Virgil Morgan, was
released from jail this week in Albuquer-
que. Please pray for his well-being as he
returns to be with his family. Pray for his
commitment to rehabilitaton.

Jeremey Richardson had surgery on Tues-
day to implant a permanent stmulaton
device on his spine. Pray for his contnued
recovery and for his search for health insur-
ance. His company opted to cancel health
insurance coverage for their employees
because of federal mandates.

Roy Webster is sufering complicatons
from severe arthrits. It has been increas-
ingly difcult for him to stand and walk. He
is a former elder of the Gallup Church of
Christ who now lives in Southaven, Miss.
His daughter, Wendy Neal, is caring for him.
Please pray for her.

preachers and missionaries in the
Navajo Naton. A potluck luncheon
honoring these men will be held on
