A little Essay for those who practise Yoga Positive Power Negative Power by Kirpal Singh

Dedicated to the Almighty God working through all Masters Who have come and Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj by Whose unmeasurable blessings causeless His humble servant received 1986 early in the morning the Holy Naam the Word.

Intercession
May Kirpal show Mercy and grant the sincere seeker after Truth a first-hand experience of the God-into-expression-Power, wich reveals itself as the Light of God and the Voice of God the Sound that comes from the right side. Bhai Jamal We have to do honest self-practice to see how far we have come on the Inner Path and have gained dominance over mind and senses. We can use the mystical experiences of past Masters and the teaching of Their practical lives to see if we have really uplifted ourselves to these extraordinary heights. If this is not so, we can come humbly near to one who has done so and accept his help. Kirpal Singh

God, the Soul and the Word are of the same Essence
The Almighty is for all Creatures the Unchangeable, Eternal One
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was nothing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of man. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehendeth it not.

That was the True Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his Glory, the Glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of Grace and Truth. St John, 1:1-5,9,14 By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth for He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Psalm 33:6,9 Who upholding all things by the word of His powe. Hebrews 1:3 Prajapatir vai idam-agre asit Tasya vak dvitiya asit Vak vai Paramam Brahma. In the beginning was Prajapati (the Creator) with Him was the Vak (the Word) and the Vak (the Word) was verily the Supreme Brahma. From the Vedas Rise above thy mental horizon, oh brave soul, and listen to the call of Music coming from above. Maulana Rumi Let the yogi sit on Sidh Asan and while practising the Vaisnavi Mudra, should hear the Sound through his right ear. Nad-Bind Upanishad Sound is pervading the whole world in its fullness, ye can listen to It with transcendental hearing. Shah Niaz Thus I reveal the Word which the Most Unfolded One has taught me, the Word which is the best for mortals to listen. Whosoever shall render obedience and steadfast attention unto me, will obtain for his own self the All-embracing Whole Being and

immortality; and through the service of the Holy Divine Spirit will realise Mazda Ahura (Godhead). Zoroaster, Ha 45-8 And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the Water of Life freely. Revelation, St John 22:17

Introducing Words
Introduction
A letter by Hazur Sawan Singh about the fundamental structure of the creation

The Supreme Creator and the individual spirit in the creation are connected together through the Sound Current1. But Kal2, also the creation of the Supreme Being, separates the individual from the Current by coming in between as mind3 and forms. Hence, the individual feels disconnected, but not so the Creator. There are three minds, and corresponding to these three minds are three kinds of forms. In Trikuti, the Nijman innermost mind or Brahm, and the Universal Mind cover the spirit. The forms here are made up of very pure Maya, mind; so much so, that a majority of the seekers have failed to see here the spirit apart from the Maya or mind, and therefore considered Brahm as all pervading, etc. Lower down in Sahasdal Kanwal, the forms of Trikuti get another covering of mind and form both coarser than the above, the astral form here being governed by the Andi Man. In this zone, there are the hells and heavens and numerous other Lokas, regions. The tendencies of the mind are directed inward and are elevating. This mind behaves like a wise enemy, seeking to keep us here. Further down in Pind region below the eyes , the astral form gets another covering of coarse material, with which we are all familiar. The mind that governs this form is called the Pindi Man Pindi Mind. Its tendencies are outward and diffusive, and are most difficult to control. Now, a body actuated by mind and spirit cannot help performing karma, and the karmic law, as you sow, so shall you also reap continues to work, and the account is complicated with time. The more one works, the more and greater is the entanglement, like a bird struggling in the meshes of a net.

So cunningly has Kal arranged the snare of forms and minds that it is well-nigh impossible to escape from their working in these minds and bodies. No matter how goodly and godly we be, it will not take us out from these regions. Says Lord Krishna,
Good actions are as much binding as bad actions; good actions may be likened to fetters of gold and bad actions to those of iron, and both are equally sufficient to keep us tied.

The escape is through the Sound Current which is the substratum at the bottom of these minds. Only when the attention catches and follows the Current does the mind become dormant and out of action. At all other times when the attention is off the Current, the mind gets the upper hand. Through the long and indefinite time since the spirit separated from its ocean and associated itself with the minds and bodies, not only has the upward passage been blocked, but the spirit has been so bewildered, entangled, and enfeebled, that it has lost all memory of its home, and is contented to live a miserable life in this wretched, material world. Now, there are two ways of looking at this creation: the Creators point of view; or in other words, from the top, and from the bottom end. From the top end, it seems that the Creator is all in all. He is the only doer and the individual seems like a puppet tossed right and left by the wire puller. There seems no free will in the individual and therefore no responsibility on his head. It is His play. There is no why or wherefore. All the Saints, when They look from the top, describe the creation as His manifestation. They see Him working everywhere. Now, looking at the thing from below, or the individual viewpoint, we come across variety as opposed to oneness. Everybody appears working with a will, and is influenced by and is influencing others with whom he comes in contact. The individual is the doer, and is therefore responsible for his actions and their consequences. All actions are recorded in his mind and memory and cause likes and dislikes, which keep him pinned down to the material, astral or mental spheres, according to his actions in an earlier move in the cycle of transmigration. The individual in these regions cannot help doing actions, and having done them, cannot escape their influence. Individual is the doer and therefore bears the consequences of his actions. As stated above, the observations differ on account of the difference in the angle of vision. Both are right. The individual clothed in coarse material form, sees only the external material forms. His sight does

not go deeper than that. If he were to rise up, the same individual from Sahasdal Kanwal will see the mind actuating all forms. The form will be secondary only; mind will be the mover in all. The same individual from Daswan Dwar will see the Spirit Current working everywhere and will see how the mind gets power from the Spirit. From Sach Khand the whole creation looks like bubbles forming and disappearing in a Spiritual Ocean. An individual is endowed with intelligence and does every action knowingly, it is therefore incumbent upon him to find a way to escape from this entanglement. To raise his spirit he must struggle against the mind, for he lives by struggle. Where there is a will, there is a way. He cannot say that this is no part of his duty. Now, the karmas are divided into three groups:
1. Kriyaman or new actions, 2. Pralabhd or fate, 3. and Sanchit or reserve.

We take the case of a farmer. He prepares his land for seed. He has the option to sow whatever he likes. Suppose he decides on wheat and sows it. The crop matures and he gathers it. Some of it he keeps for his consumption during the coming year, and the surplus he puts in store. For the next year he will have to live on wheat, for he has nothing else by him. If he now wants something else, say corn, he can sow that next season. Suppose he now sows corn and gathers his crop at the end of the year. Like his wheat crop, he keeps some for his consumption and keeps the surplus in his store. Year after year he is living on the previous years gathering and increasing his reserve in store to be utilized in time of scarcity or need. You will see that he is living and hopes to live, on what he himself sows and gathers. Similarly, whatever we do in this life becomes fate for our next life; and some of this is kept in reserve by Kal to be given to us if by any chance of course these chances are practically nil we run short of karma. Without karma, Kal cannot keep down a spirit in a body, and without a body, no karma can be performed. It is open to Kal to add from reserve to fate, or deduct from fate for reserve. Like the farmer who is preparing his land for the coming season, and is living on the

gatherings from the last season, with a confidence based on his reserve, so we are doing our fate, in which we have no choice. But we do have the choice to work anew as we please, for our future good. And we have a surplus, which is our reserve from past lives, of which we have now no knowledge. We are therefore at present doing a dual function: a) In regard to fate, we are helpless; b) but in new actions we have a free hand to sow for the future. To distinguish between these two types by intelligence alone is not easy for the individual; but a rough rule may be laid down: Namely, that what comes in spite of our efforts, and spontaneously, is due to fate. But those whose attention is concentrated, and who have access within, can read their fate easily. It is an open book to them. Now, in the physical body, actions are done from the heart centre. As long as the mind is centred here in ordinary individuals, the heart is the centre of mind action , it will be influenced by mind actions. The sensations of joy and sorrow will be felt as the body is worked from this centre. When the mind has been elevated to the eye focus by concentration, or in other words, when the mind has changed its seat or centre from the heart to the eyes; then the feeling used by outward influences, working on the physical body, will be felt imperceptibly. Joys of the world will not elevate and its sorrows will not depress him. The fate actions are stored in the eight-petalled lotus, in Anda above the eyes. Their influence is felt forcibly as long as that centre has not been crossed. When that centre is crossed, and the Masters Astral Form is seen for that Form resides there , the influence of the fate actions will be perceived nominally. The mind has then become strong and it has the power to bear joys or sorrows without effort. But fate cannot be effaced or altered; it will have to be borne. An arrow after leaving the bow, must find its mark. The reserve actions are stored at the top of Trikuti, and only when a spirit has crossed the third mind, or Trikuti, is it said to be free from all karma. Below this, the spirit suffers from the effects of karma. All actions are performed with a motive and the motive is binding. It is not easy to conceive of an action which is performed without a motive. The mind is consciously or sub-consciously active, and it is ridiculous to talk of karma without a counter-karma. There is no

escape from counter-karma. By doing actions, however good, there is no escape. Charity, offerings or pilgrimages must bring their reward, and the soul doing these things must receive the reward in one incarnation or another. Man is reborn or embodied with a span of life, which is defined by the karmic effects of his past life, no more and no less. Christ says:
Your days are numbered.

The length of our life is assigned by the number of breathing measured out for us. Their right use or abuse can extend or shorten our life on earth. Normally one respires about 14 to 15 times per minute, but in impassioned moments one respires 24 to 26 times per minute. In this manner, one consumes the number of breathing assigned to, within less time. But, if one obtains life and devotes time for the Spiritual Practice, the needed number of breathe will decrease to 4 or 6 per minute. In so doing, life is extended. The yogis direct for months and sometimes for years their breath by a yoga practice Kumbhak , by which the inhalation is temporary extended and therefore they prolong their life for hundreds of years. The escape from karma lies in the protection afforded by the Saints. They are Themselves karmaless. Their actions are not binding on Them, for Their Spirits work from Daswan Dwar, a centre above the three spheres of mind and forms, as stated above. They show us the way out. They say, Let new actions be performed in the name of the Master, the individual working in the capacity of an agent only. The new actions, done in this spirit, will not be binding. The fate actions will have been undergone by the time the life comes to an end. The reserve actions, Saints take partly upon Themselves, and are partly undergone by the devotees, as the Saints think proper. They put the individual in touch with the Sound Current, the substratum, and as the spirit catches It and rises up, and throws off the influences of mind and matter, it gets stronger and stronger.

The more the individual works on these lines, the easier the Path for him. If otherwise, the course becomes lengthy, yet the Saints are pledged to see him through, after They have initiated a soul. The practice of Sound Current cuts the root of karma. The Current acts like a magnet on the spirit. It attracts the spirit to itself, and if the spirit were not covered by the rust of mind and matter, it would go up like a sky rocket. The bonds of attachments and impressions are removed by repetition. The repetition of thoughts of the journey within replaces our common daily thought; and the mind instead of wandering outside, begins to take rest and peace within; and when it comes in, the spirit comes in with it; and when the spirit is in, the Current in its turn pulls it up, and when Trikuti has been crossed this will only be when all karmic accounts are settled the soul never goes back into transmigration. It will go up to merge with its source. ***** That Master of Eternal Domain is keeping His doors open all the time and is calling aloud:
Bring into actual experience the Great Principle of withdrawal before death. I am impatiently waiting for you to come up to me. I am nearer to you than the nearest. For those of you initiated by me it is a sacrilege and a mark of disgrace on both Love and devotion if you look upon anybody else as a Guru or Master-guide. You may, however, derive benefit from the company of some awakened personality who pays a visit to me every day. He will not misguide you, but on the contrary, will unite you with me, will instil my Love in you, and will strengthen the Divine Link that binds and ties you to me. Moreover, in the capacity of Guru Bhai 4 or Spiritual Brother he shall be helpful to serve you.

Foreword
In this exceptional time in which our attention is confronted with a countless number of various confusing, so-called spiritual teachings, it may be the most difficult, but certainly the most important task to recognise the One, the natural Way given by God from the outset. This natural way in fact is capable to lead the human soul back to its original source of Divine Home, the only place where it can experience the longed for pure Love and Eternal Bliss. The Holy Masters of all times and the religions put emphasis on the fact, that each single man, regardless of his origin, his personal characteristics or his religion has the right to ask for the chance to walk on this sublimest of all ways, thus fullfilling the soul-embedded sense of creation. And yet, there are only few of us being in the privileged situation of out of thousands presented doors choosing the one right door and confidently knocking at it. Seek and ye shall find knock, and it shall be opened unto you. St Luke 11:9

This scripture is something rare and outstanding, because it indicates the way to that one door. Thus it does not make sense to compare the content and value of these texts with the statements of various other scriptures and teachings as they were spread by the self nominated upholders of different religions and beliefs after the physical departure of the respective torch bearer. Now, where exactly lies the difference? To find that out for oneself may be the sense and purpose of the following textual collection. For who wants to understand will see the quintessence of Sant Mat, the Holy Path of the Masters, propounded as Kirpal Singh unfolded it to us. It begins with the Wedding Hymn of Guru Ram Das, which describes the transformation of the disciple from the beginning of initiation. Contemporary hymns of a disciple who can bear a lively witness of his experiences to the interested seeker follow. Many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and didnt see them; and to hear the things which ye hear, and have not heard them. St Matthew 13:16-17 Then, the souls journey begins. As a thankful author of this foreword I do solemnly confirm, that the concious, experienceable contact with the Almighty Power of God initiation is amazingly granted everyone, who sincerely asks for it. Entirely in this spirit I wish the reader of the now following scripture, that he may be able, to take the open and sincere Inner Attitude when reading this book, which alone makes it possible, to draw the essential conclusion out of the given information, to receive the communion with the Divine Word within and then through the loving Grace of the merciful Master-Power to undergo the most possible Spiritual Experience and Guidance indeed. How sudden silence sinks down friendly Light surrounds my existence the body melts, resolves into nothingness and soft sound holds me save, secured and tight.

What I truly am
So long was the way, so long was the time but now Im sitting here, feel Your closeness and see Your brilliance. Can hear Your voice again, finally. And even if the past covers me over and over again, You are still much closer to me seeing only the One Truth in me.

So I wish to see with Your eyes, to become gradually and finally completely, what You only see in me and that I truly always was and that I truly will be and that I truly am Kirpal. Th. Grth

The Wedding Hymn by Guru Ram Das

A soul is extremly fortunate, if by great destiny she has obtained a human birth, which is very rare and precious. But she is far more blessed, if, by Gods desire, she gets the contact with the Word Naam, Bani, Saut, etc. , the God-in-Expression-Power, during this embodiment. The following Hymn by Guru Ram Das describes the way, which the soul, being embodied in a human form and initiated, has to go through. Four stages of life must be gone through, to achieve the Last Aim, the union with the Lord. This Hymn refers to the degrees of consciousness, that those souls have to traverse, who have the fortune, to be blessed with this contact. Guru Ram Das, in His hymn, names the soul a bright and the Almighty the brightgroom.

Stanza I
By the first nuptial cycling the Lord shows you His instruction for the daily duties of wedded life: The words of the Guru are the words of the Lord; learn the right way through them, and the errors of the past will be washed away. Hold fast to righteousness, contemplate the Naam as the scriptures prescribe. Devote yourself to the Sant Satguru, and your sins and errors will go. By great fortune the mind is filled with bliss and imbued with the sweetness of Naam; then comes happiness without effort. Nanak the slave proclaims: In the first circling, the marriage rite has begun.

Stanza II
In the second nuptial circling the Lord brings you to the Satguru. The fear in your hearts has gone; the filth of ego is washed from your minds; fearing God and singing His praises, You see His presence before you the Lord, the Master, the Soul of the Universe there is nowhere that He is not. Within and without, there is God only; His song of joy is heard in the company of the Saints. Nanak the slave proclaims: That in the second circling Divine Music is heard.

Stanza III
In the third circling1 comes the longing for the Lord and detachment from the world. By great fortune we meet Him in the company of the Saints. The Immaculate Lord is found in His purity through the blessed Holy Word. By great fortune we find the company of the Saints and hear the Ineffable Story from Their Holy Lips. The Naam resounds in our hearts, its echoes absorb us within; It is written on our foreheads from ages back: Nanak the slaves proclaims: That in the third circling the Love of God has been awakened in the heart.

_______________ Footnote: 1) Kirpal Singh explained, that when the third circling is executed, man has become a Conscious Co-Worker of the Divine Plan.

Stanza IV
In the fourth circling the mind grasps the Divine Knowledge, and God is realised within. Through the Grace of the Guru we have reached the Lord with ease; body and soul alike are filled with the sweetness of the Beloved. Dear, dear, very dear, is He to us, and dear we are to Him. Night and day our minds are filled with Him. By putting Him first we have reached Him. That which we wanted we received; The Beloved has finished His work. The Bridge takes her delight in her Beloveds Name And blessings fill our minds. The Naam rings in our hearts and the Lord is united with His Holy Bride. Her heart blooms in response to the Naam; Nanak the slave proclaims: That in the fourth circling we have found the Eternal Lord.

Interview
Excerpt from an interview between an American reporter (Mr R. Redeen) and Kirpal Singh. Question by Robert Redeen: I just read an article that You wrote that says three or four lives (to make it, to go Home). Answer by Kirpal Singh: No, no, no, may be you read it in the scriptures of the Masters. I say, even four stages of life can be passed in one life.1

***** Therefore, as described, the completion of the way of the initiated soul can be reduced to one birth only, depending on the disciples Love, faith and obedience towards the Master. Bhai Jamal _______________ Footnote: 1) Recorded tape of an interview, 2 September 1970 in Dehradun / India.

My Journey
by Bhai Jamal
Four Excerpts from a Report on Practical Experiences

I Naam, to hear It with Heart

Only today, inherently yesterday, years ago, unconscious heard I music, sanctum music, music, being eternally part of the cosmos. Why only today, do I hear It with all my heart? Why only today, am I longing for You, oh Kirpal! No music made by man, is comparable with this sinfonia!

Who writh it? Who is the composer of this notes? Was it the Word, or He Himself? Do you have the answer? I received It through Him, and I can be no more without It, not for a wink! Do I forget It even for a moment instantly I am fraught with lugubriousness! Lord! Let it through Your Grace such as in all resound in me. Let my soul never again, even only for a moment adjourn the connecting-line with you. Help me, Home, reaching It with your help, without which I would errantry like zillions of years once before. Give me Your Word forever! Only today, inherently yesterday, years ago, unconscious heard I music, Sanctum Music, music, being eternally part of the cosmos. 11. 11. 1986

II The Master of the Universe

After leaving the cage of clay I met Him the Master of the Universe. Like a grain of sand was the creation 1 and His Visage it was familiar to me, was as great as the highest mountain. His smile enchanted me. The Visage approached and spoke with a calm and deep voice: Look my child,

and I looked regarding His directive, right, left, above, below, ahead and behind, all at the same time And wile looking with the Eye of the Soul He went on saying: All this am I and there exist none beside me. And I went on looking like a child and He showed me in His benevolence and mercifulness the end and the beginning and all what exist not. The Lord of the Universe the Master Himself showed Himself to a dishonourable disciple. I was not in wonder, it was Kirpal my Lord and Master! After this gracious vision I bowed decently and said: You, Kirpal, are everywhere, there is nothing except you, You are the Alpha and the Omega, which was and which is to come, the Almighty. From Pind to Anaami and all else what is, although it is not manifested. You are everywhere immanent and I testify, there exist only You alone. Thank You for this insight! _______________ Explanation: 1) Even this comparison is to marginal. Speech can not articulate, only the soul is able to see this, destined by Him. Illustration: Kabir described this vision as follows: I saw Him, the unmanifested principle, who indwells everything and all my doubts dispelled. Kabir

III The Question

I saw a light the flame of the universe. A voice rumbling strong and loud like endless thunders. This voice without a visage asked insistent and definitive as it asked everyone who approaches it. Who is your Master? Unterrified but thoughtful what I should answer, the following possibilities streamed through me because nothing wrong I wanted to do nor losing this vision.

Should I answer Sant Kirpal Singh Ji Maharaj? or just Kirpal Singh? But my soul out of itself shouted out only the name Kirpal with all power and passion. In the same moment the light manifolded itself many thousand times and the same voice asked again: Who is your Master? Yet, the power of the voice had manifolded itself infinite in its forcefulness and profoundness like millions of thunders on earth. Every individual part of my being was then steeped in by this question there was no way back, no hiding, no just for-once. Intrepid and strengthen by the first reaction I repeated Kirpal I screamed it out of me with all power and creed. Knowing that Kirpal is my protector in the here and there. Now, all Light that exists opened in front of me and I saw the Light of Lights itself, no more obstacle, no more barrier, no more hindrances. Only Life, Light and Love. I was free. Thank You Kirpal for this blessing. The blessing to have escaped the ruler of the creation. You, Kirpal, are alone and I in my imperfection are Your humble servant. _______________ Illustration: To cross the mental world is not so easy as it may seem to the untrained in the mysteries of the beyond. It is the most delusive world where even the mahatmas and the rishis with all their learning and tapas, fail to hold on to their own ground. What is there in that vast universe which Brahman would not like to offer to those earnest souls who try to escape through his domains and reach the True Home of their Father? At every step, be it in the physical world, the astral or the mental, he tries to block the way of the aspiring souls. The great Prophets and Messiahs and all others have given their experiences of the fierce encounters that they had with Satan, Mara, Ahirman; the evil spirits, Asuras, Demons and their agents in countless ways. Fair

or foul, whereby they try to obstruct the way, to win over the seekers after Truth by assurances of worldly kingdoms and principalities; and if they do not succumb to these temptations, then by threats of violence by fire, thunder, earthquakes, heaven-splitting, cloud-bursts, lightening and what have you. The Mystery of Death Chapter V: What after Death?, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974

IV Your Seat
Your seat is above all. Whatever has been created lies below You. All souls, Kal, Brahma, Par Brahm, Holy Men and Yogis, Masters and disciples, atoms and hansas, all are gazing up to You, hands folded in salutation, because out of Your mouth flows the one Naam. It reports patiently since beginning about Your being. Kabir is my brother, You are my father!

You are all! Nothing is beyond You. You are the king of the kings, the Almighty Himself. Beside You there was a place taken, inspired by Your son, through Your Grace He is part of You. You sit on Your place and beside You sat Your son. Anything below us was You and therefore a part of You, they all wanted to be something. Your son was nothing, is nothing! Nothing means all all nothing. Some pass a test! Some live only for You! Jaimal says, that You could take all the work of creation from one stone! Who then are the disciples? Who then are the Masters? They are only to rejoice You. They all are! You are the One. Even the souls from Alakh, Agam, Anaami and Sat Kartar are! Thank You Kirpal for this comprehension. Kirpal, You are alone! Have been and will be for all ages. Bhai Jamal1 _______________ Explanation: 1) Pen name. Illustration: Those who are initiated are done so by the special Grace of God. The purpose of Initiation is for our soul to go back to the lap of our Father through the Light and Sound Principle which emanates from Absolute God. Further special Grace is given when an initiate is selected for some job to help carry on the work. It is those who want to be nearer to the Master who are given some special job to do, some duty to perform. If the person to whom the job is given does it selflessly, with no ego in him, it will bear forth fruit. When you see that everything goes according to the Will and Pleasure of the Master, then naturally, you will be one with Him. You will have no will of your own. His Will is your will and His Will is God's Will. So each one of you should be thankful that you have been initiated. You have been put on the way back to Absolute God. When He has selected you for some particular duty, you are still more fortunate, but perform it with full faith, devotion and selflessness. If you do this, what will He give you? He will give you His very own place.

Morning Talks Chapter XXIV: The True Service to God or God-in-Man, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974

Hymn by Guru Nanak

Nanak in the following Jap Ji hymn sketches in highly lyrical language a picture of God watching from His abode His many creations, which bow before Him in reverence. How wonderful Thy gate: how wonderful Thy mansion, from whence Thou watchest Thy great creation. Countless the instruments and harmonies that play therein, countless the measures, countless the singers, that sing Thy praises. The

Elements Wind, Water and Fire sing of Thee, and of Thee sing the king of Death and his recording angels. 1 To Thee sing the gods and goddesses whose beauty is of Thy making. To Thee sing Shiva, Brahma and likewise Indra from his throne. To Thee sing the Siddhas in their meditation, and the Sadhus in their contemplation. To Thee sing the ascetics, the righteous, the contented; and the heroes no less. To Thee sing the learned pandits and the rishis from age to age reciting from the holy Vedas. To Thee sing the heart-enslaving nymphs in the heaven, the earth and the nether regions. To Thee sing thy jewels (Saints) and the sixty-eight places of pilgrimage. To Thee sing the mighty warriors, the heroes of great prowess, and all living creatures.2 To Thee sing the earthly regions, the heavens and the universes created and supported by Thee. Those that please Thee also sing Thy praises and are saturated with Thy Love and devotion. And there are countless more that sing of Thee, whom one cannot even remember, all lie beyond the ken of Nanak. He is and is alone the ever-existent Lord. He is the Truth and true is His Holy Naam, He is, and shall exist forevermore. He Who created all creations shall never depart, though worlds be destroyed. He Who made Nature with its many colours and many forms, looks after His own handiwork, as it behoves His own Greatness. He is the Supreme Master and does what He lists, He is the King of Kings, the Almighty Lord, and ours, oh Nanak, is only to abide by His Will. Kabir or Kirpal
In entrancement and remembrance1 of Har Rai, the Guru of the ages, Kabir Sahib, a disciple of Kirpal Singh, says: Before Him, Who has meditated since the beginning of time, before a Saint such as Kabir 2 I bow forever. How am I able to

describe the grandeur of Karunamae3, Who reminded Draupadi of the Way to my Lord? Munindar prayed to Kabir, to let shower down blessings upon blessings. Kabir said: He, Who will be the Merciful One 4, He will bless the world with the Ocean of Grace5. Dr Harbhajan Singh The brother in Kirpal (Gurubhai) answers him: Oh Harbhajan, before Kirpal I bow, too long was I worried about His son, my brother. Kabir knows, Who our Father is. Introduction about the Creation

The Adepts of Mysticism Saints, Masters of Truth, Murshid-i-Kamil or Pir report to us that the exploration of the Inner Realms is the hereditary title of each soul; and if we do not go inward, in order to cross these realms, this will be our fault. Kabir, the Indian poet and Saint described these regions in His scriptures. They were also described by Guru Nanak, the first Guru of the Sikh religion, Swami Ji

and Baba Jaimal Singh Ji, two Highest Adepts of Mysticism in the 19 th century and also by Hazur Baba Sawan Singh Ji in the 20 th century and His Spiritual Successor Kirpal Singh in the 21st century. According to the teachings of the Adepts of Mysticism there are three main divisions. It is most appropriate to subdivide these regions her into three main divisions of the cosmic plan of creation: 1. the purely Spiritual Region; 2. the spirituo-material region; 3. the materio-spiritual region; The materio-spiritual one is the main realm which is the closest to the physical universe. The central source of power of this materio-spiritual region has become known as Sahasdal Kanwal thousand-petalled lotus in the Oriental terminology, and it is this source of power from which the whole physical universe gets its driving energies. This third main realm has been termed astral level in the western occult literature and in the theosophical scriptures. In this astral realm the scale of time is smaller than in the second spirituo-material realm, but much bigger than in the physical universe. At the end of a shorter cosmic cycle of life, which lasts, however, many million years, it will vanish into the realm of the Universal Mind. This is where the heavens of most of the religions of the world are located. Here one can find the heaven of Christianity, the Paradise of Islam and the Swargas of Hinduism. These heavens are really beautiful, but they are also subject to the final dissolution. The beginning of the mystical Path of Love, the Way back to our True Home, however takes place at the lowest level of creation, which comprises our entire physical universe: all the planets, suns, stars, solar systems, galaxies and cosmic systems whether known to current astronomy or not. Matter in our physical universe is in its rawest, densest form with a tiny addition of Spiritual Substance which is just enough to enliven matter and to preserve life. The physical structure of our universe is the lowest projection of a cosmic idea, which is guided by the medium of the Universal Mind. The whole physical universe with its millions of galaxies that are a vast number of light years apart from one another, is just like a dust particle if compared to the Inner Realms beyond it. Guru Nanak describes the three grand main divisions as follows: The first is the Region of Truth and Pure Spirit unmixed with matter.
Ramkali M5

Here the spirit reigns supreme and there is total absence of matter. This is the region where the Lord Himself dwells and may be defined as the purely Spiritual Region. This is free from the haunt of death and destruction. Whoever reaches its domain, obtains True Salvation. The Master says: Once you reach the region of the Formless, you obtain the abode of everlasting Joy and Peace.
Sorath M1

Again: The Formless dwells in the Pure Spiritual Region.

Jap Ji, Stanza 37

The second Grand Division consists of Pure Spirit and a subtle form of matter combined in varying degrees. The upper part of it is called Par Brahmand, wherein the spirit is more to be compared with the subtle forms of matter. In the lower parts called Daswan Dwar, both are in equal part. This is the region of the Universal Mind and is termed by various names by various Masters. Here the Spirit is mixed with matter in its subtlest form, the latter being totally subordinate to the former. Spirit in this region predominates and is pre-eminently the ruling force. This region undergoes a change at the destruction of the universe in the Grand Dissolution, Maha Pralaya, and in Dissolution, Pralaya.1 A man in this domain is safer than in the one below it. The third region is the Grand Division of spirit and matter in its grossest form and is called And. It is comprised of Trikuti and Sahasrar planes. It is the sphere of Maya or matter. In this region matter has the upper hand and spirit is subordinate to it, so much so, that the latter feels dependent on the former for its manifestation. In this region the spirit, on account of its association with matter, undergoes untold miseries and is subjected to the law of transmigration. Both these divisions are referred to as Kal and Maha Kal respectively. [] This, in brief, is a sketch of the Macrocosm the Great World Universe. These three divisions also exist in man on a miniature

scale. If you want to know about macrocosm, you must first know about the microcosm. Excerpt from the Jap Ji Three Grand Divisions and their Features, edited by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 _______________ Explanation: 1) In the Pralaya the material world is dissolved, in the Maha Pralaya the spirituo-material worlds are dissolved.

Man is an Epitome of the Three Grand Divisions of the Creation

1. Spirit or the soul, represents the region of the Spiritual Division. 2. Mind or the mental plane, refers to that of the Universal Mind. 3. Physical body or the material planes, consist of three bodies: the causal, the astral and the gross.

The gross body is the fleshy sheath we have. It consists of the gross matter and gross organs of actions and senses: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, skin and excretory and generative organs. It is shaken off at the time of physical death. The astral body consists of subtle matter and subtle organs and is active in dreamland state. In this is located the mind. The causal body is the root cause of the other two bodies. Its activity is confined to the deep sleep state.

The latter two bodies along with the mind continue to exist after death and create a new form or physical frame at each rebirth. Macrocosm thus exists in the microcosm of the human body. The knowledge of the latter serves as means to the comprehension of the former. If one could succeed in attaining the region of the spirit within himself, by shaking off these sheaths, he can cast off all pain and misery and enjoy incessant bliss and peace untold. A life of matter is all misery which one cannot escape until one is able to separate oneself from it. The attainment of the Region of Spirit then is the thing that is required, for it can lead to the abode of Perpetual Joy and Supreme Happiness, even while living in this physical body. It is only by riding the current of the Holy Naam the Eternal Music in man that this state is reached, with the help of the True Master. The Holy Naam the Word comes down from the highest Spiritual Planes, the region of Truth, into the material planes. It is the saving lifeline that can carry souls into the plane beyond the reach of dissolution. All other means fall short of the goal. The Kingdom of God is within you; you may seek it there. It is within your finite body that communion with the Word can be held. This ultimately brings you to the Region of Infinite Truth Sach Khand.

Excerpt from the Jap Ji edited by Kirpal Singh, 18941974

Possibility of Communion of the Microcosm with the Macrocosm Regions

Now we will see whether there is a possibility of communion between the microcosm and the macrocosm. Man is an epitome of the macrocosm. There are in man nerve centres, lying in a dormant state, and these can be quickened by the practice of the Divine Word the Sound Principle. There are six reflex centres in the Pind or the body, corresponding to the six centres in the Brahmand or Cosmos. These, in their turn, are reflections of those in Par Brahm or the purely Spiritual Region. The lower six centres are the ganglions at the rectum, the generative organ, the navel, the heart, the throat and the sixth midway between the eyebrows, which is called Til or Ajna (see stanza 21 of the Jap Ji) and is the seat of the soul in man. It is from here that the spirit current descends into the body, giving life and strength to the physical frame and its respective limbs. This spirit current plays an important part in the nourishment of the body and if this is cut off from any part, it loses all vitality and forthwith ceases to function. The six centres of the Brahmand and of the Spiritual Regions are also to be found within us. When the spirit current is brought into play with these centres, one can have contact with their corresponding planes. Excerpt from the Jap Ji edited by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 Guru Nanak says: Pilgrimages, austerities, mercy, charity and alms-giving, cease to be of any consequence, when one gets an ingress into the Til 1 the Inner Eye; communion with and practice of the Holy Word, with heart full of devotion, procure admittance into the Inner Spiritual Realms, washing away the dirt of sins at the Sacred Fount 2 within. All virtues are Thine, oh Lord; I possess not one, There can be no worship without practicing the Holy Word. From Thee has emanated the Bani or the Holy Word, which is the Path to salvation. Thou art Truth 3, enchantingly sweet, and my mind yearns for Thee. Jap Ji, Stanza 21

_______________ Explanation: 1) Til: it literally means the mustard seed. Here it is used for the ganglion between and behind the two eyes. Hindus call it Shiv Netra or the Third Eye. In the Gospel it is termed as Single Eye. The Sufis call it Nukta-i-Sweda. It is the seat of soul in man. It is the first stage where the soul collects itself and is enabled to rise in the higher Spiritual Planes. Guru Ram Das, in this context, says: Mind wanders away every second as it has not entered the Til. Bhai Gurdas has given a beautiful description of it in his Kabits and Swaiyas No. 140, 141, 213, 265, 269, 270 and 294. Kabir has also referred to Til, in His Dohas or couplets. Tulsi Sahib tells us that the mystery of God is revealed only when one penetrates behind the Til. 2) The Sacred Fount of Nectar is the Amrit-saar or Amritsar in man. It is not to be confused with Amritsar, the sacred pool founded by Guru Ram Das, 4th Guru and completed in the time of Guru Arjan, 5 th Guru. The Sacred Fount, here referred to, by Nanak, is situated in the third Spiritual Plane, called the Daswan Dwar. The Mohammedans call it Hauz-i-Kausar and the Hindus term it as Prag Raj. It is here that the pilgrim soul gets its real baptism and is washed clean of all impurities and regains its pristine purity. 3) Truth or Sat Naam resides in Sach Khand, which is the highest of the five Spiritual Planes, where the Formless One dwells. This is explained in the stanzas assigned for the various planes at the end of the text.

The Way through the astral Realms

If one rises above the body consciousness, one initially is situated in And the Third Grand Division , surrounded by matter. Afterwards one has to rise into the Brahmand, the region of the Universal Mind. There one feels much better, but still one is not immune from endangerment or vitiation. The first region or safe haven is Sach Khand, or the Domain of Truth, which is inaccessible for Maha Kal or the Grand Dissolution. Thus Guru Nanak says: In the body itself there is everything: the Spiritual Region, the heavenly plateaux and the material planes. In the body dwells the Lord Supreme Who nourishes all. In the body lives the Formless, the Inconceivable, beyond the human ken. Those who have material eyes only, seek Him in vain, in outward things. In the body there are the Priceless Jewels of Divinity. In the body there are all the material realms and planes. In the body is the treasure of the Holy Naam, reached only through meditation on the Word of the Master. In the body are all the gods: the Brahma, the Vishnu and the Shiva1, and the whole creation itself. Rag Suhi M3 Another Saint says: Brahmand is in man on a miniature scale, and whoever seeks it, will find it. Oh Pipa, the highest truth may be realised only through Master. Dhanasri Pipa This very truth is also enunciated by the Muslim Saints Who state: Macrocosm is in the microcosm and thus you get to God. In the Human body, we trace the three divisions referred to above on a miniature scale.

The mystic path of Love has its starting point in human consciousness when the aspirant has fixed his attention on the centre of the third eye between and behind the two eyebrows. The third eye possesses its own brightness, which is vitalised by the souls own Light, and its therefore independent from outer Light, contrary to our eyes of flesh and bone. If your two eyes become single, thy whole body shall be full of Light. St Matthew 6:22 St Luke 11:34 Saint Augustine tells us of the manifestation in Him of the Light in this way: I entered even into my inward self. Thou being my Guide and able as I was: for Thou were become my helper. And I entered and beheld with the eye of my soul (such as it was), above the same eye of my soul above my mind, the Light Unchangeable. Not this ordinary light which all flesh may look upon, nor as it were a greater of the same kind, as though the brightness of this should be manifold brighter, and with its greatness take up all space. Not such was the Light but other, yea, far other from all these [] He that knows the Truth, knows what that Light is and he that knows It, knows Eternity.
Loose translation from: Confessiones Book VII, X., by St Augustine

By the Mercy of an Adept of Mysticism the aspirant was given a simple method to rise above body consciousness and thereby enters into the Inner Regions. First he closes his outer eyes and sees with his Inner Third Eye. He also closes his outer ears and hears with his Inner Spiritual Ear. If these things have been achieved, the stream of consciousness which is diffused in the whole body will withdraw and concentrate in the centre of the Third Eye. The body itself is getting insensitive thus increasing the aspirants consciousness of his soul, his Real Self. This is the initial stage of that which the Adepts of Mysticism call Turiya Pad, i.e. the fourth stage of existence, the stage of transcendental consciousness or super-consciousness. Be strictly on guard when doing practices. Pranas or breathing is not involved in any way. You should also have no consciousness of the body whatsoever. Master-Power is over your head and will be extending all feasible help. When you hear a mingling of many sounds within, please try to discriminate which Sound is

coming from the right side. The Sound will come nearer and ultimately will come from above and you will hear It much clearer. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 At the beginning the disciple of the Adept of Mysticism was given a Simran a repetition exercise or loving remembrance of the Charged Names of the Lord of five words in order to rise into the Spiritual Realms. He collects the whole stream of consciousness mind and soul in the centre of the Third Eye, and the mental repetition of the five Holy Words will help him to achieve the desired aim and he notices that his consciousness withdraws from the physical world. [] Simran helps in the withdrawal of spirit-currents from the body. In Simran lies the seed that helps in the development of the soul. [] Simran makes man introspective and concentrative. Extraordinary powers inevitably follow as a result of the concentration of mind in the Inner Planes. [] Simran is a weapon against all dangers. It acts as a password to all Spiritual Planes. It gives strength and sustenance to the body and mind during trouble and affliction, and brings the soul near the Master. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 According to the individual case his first view at the astral realm can differng. The manifestation of the eye within which is two or three times the size of the normal eye is auspicious, as it is that of the Master. It should be penetrated lovingly while fixing your Inner Gaze intently in its middle and repeating the Sacred Charged Names mentally, when it will burst to give you further way up, in due course with His Grace. It is possible that you may be blessed with the full size charming Radiant Form of the Master, which usually follows this manifestation. Please repeat the Sacred Names to test its genuineness as sometimes the negative forces interfere and the Charged Names are the sure criterion for testing the genuineness of the Inner Form. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974

The lowest astral level is a location of unbridled desires, a true hell, into which the spoilt and brutish people will get after death. In these dark and horrible surroundings evil beings will harvest the fruit of their evil deeds on earth. This is not the eternal hell of the books, but a venue of punishment and final liberation. The devotee may cross the lower astral regions by the loving mercy and protection of the Adept of Mysticism, though they might be shown to him as a reward sometimes. At this lower astral region there are further steps on which the environment is steadily improving. Some are full of the best amenities with a wonderful scenery and places of rest for common people who are waiting for reincarnation onto earth. On the natural way everyone will first see Light. This will first be stationary, then brighter and will burst to give way for one to pass through it and up. One may see scenes, figures, colours etc., but to stay long with them will only delay Spiritual Progress. One usually has to cross sun, moon or stars, but they give way in similar manner to allow one to pass onwards. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 After the aspirant has passed these lower regions quickly, he will travel through a genuinely astral region, which is studded with bright suns and stars. He can hear the Sound Current as a never ending melody and during his ascent to the star-spangled sky he passes a sun and a moon which seem to dissolve or burst when he travels through them. ***** Question by R. Redeen: Whats the explanation of the different colours of Lights that are seen in meditation? Answer by Kirpal Singh: No book will give you, I tell you. But there is a reason for it, theres reason for it. That depends on the Inner Development, backgrounds, some dominating attributes in his life, you see. Thats the cause of all the different colours. So, yellow, golden Light is spiritual; pure white Light is also , this is spiritual; red Light, you will find, where at least theres some pushing attitude.

These are different stages, different colours, different sounds also. Question by R. Redeen: Are they different Lights for different people or are they the same progression of Lights for everybody? Answer by Kirpal Singh: Those who have got background, they go up further. Those who have to start, theres a regular way. They will see the sky; theyll see stars, the big star, then transcend it; then moon comes, then transcend it. Those who have got the background, they start all at once from there thats it. Question by R. Redeen: Yes, Im just thinking, every morning in here, when we meet, everybody seems, sees various Lights and ah, we seem to be about on the same level, many of us. Answer by Kirpal Singh: (Not clear: [] there are samples). Some they know. There is one who sees two Masters, Master Sawan Singh (Interruption from the interviewer: That, of course, is beyond most of us). Not beyond. I get letters [saying Master appears within]. Of those who are regular, they have it. They talk too. Question by R. Redeen: Blue Light, the blue Light, You didnt touch on that. Everybody seems to see the blue Light. Whats that? Answer by Kirpal Singh: Thats the first a loving attitude. You see. The picture of Lord Krishna, blue, you see, yellow, blue, thats light, I mean golden light, these are three. Outer form you see. His face is blue, robes are yellow. Thats showing the combination of different developments. Question by R. Redeen: So, so really when you start to meditate, you should try to get at that golden Light as rapidly as possible?

Answer by Kirpal Singh: You cannot visualise, you see. That comes of itself. When you reach that plane, naturally that point comes, but that is (as I told you), that is where Masters form manifests. Question by R. Redeen: And, and these Lights just seem to stay for a short time. Will that increase as time goes by? Answer by Kirpal Singh: By regular practice, regular practice and that time is increased only, the longer you can stay in whatever you see, continuously without break. The more progress will also be there. Interview by R. Redeen with Kirpal Singh ***** These star bodies are not like the physical stars, planets and satellites we are familiar with from our physical universe but they are much brighter and more radiant than our celestial bodies. I am glad for your Holy meditations wherein you are blessed with the celestial manifestations of sun and moon within, and hear the Holy Sound Current of bells and drums almost at all times with the Grace of the Master. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 Now the aspirant can hear the melody of a heavenly bell and becomes absorbed by its harmonious sound2. [] The Holy Sound Current or the jingling of bells as coming from the right is correct and should be listened to with rapt attention. It will draw closer, grow stronger and ultimately come from above. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 Then, the aspirant will hear the melodies of a conch and will be completely penetrated by its music. [] Conch Sound resembles that one coming out as a result of blowing in the form of a long, continuous sweet mellow sound.

[] You should not follow Sound to the place from where It comes but stick to your place at the back of the eyes and listen to the Sound coming from the right side. In this way, the Sound will draw closer, grow stronger and ultimately come from above. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 When the disciple advances further and higher, the longing soul will get more and more aware of the Sound Current Holy Word or the audible Stream of Life, the incomparable and inscrutable Word that preserves the entire creation from the realm of pure spirit down to the material realm. This God-into-expression-Power exists as the Stream of Life, changing its form and tone from realm to realm and yet being always the same in its original nature. As Guru Nanak states, the practice of connecting oneself with this unpronounceable Word Light and Sound is a prerequisite for the ascent on the mystical Path of Love: By practice of the Word, one speeds on to the higher Spiritual Planes unhindered; by practice of the Word, one gets into the Spiritual Plane openly and honourably; by practice of the Word, one escapes the bypaths of Yama, the King of Death; by practice of the Word, one gets in close touch with the Truth. Oh, great is the Power of the Word, but few there be that know it. Jap Ji, Stanza 14 When the aspirant further proceeds in the astral realm he is confronted with three ways:

First:
The way on his left-hand side is a dark, disgusting region, where strange rishis, yogis and adepts of a lower order are in the majority. This left-side way is the dwelling place of Kal, the Negative Power, the master of the realms of mind and matter. In some of the Eastern teachings Kal is also known as Brahma, and he dominates the fourth division as well as the lower regions of the third division of creation. Though the lower realms of creation are ruled by Kal, he still has to obey the Divine Laws of the Supreme Lord. Modern theosophy and other current mystic movements assure that there is an Inner Government of the world. And it is its main task to control the stream of power which causes the development of all

races and nations and to contribute to improvement of the world at the same time. This concealed government lies within the sphere of Kals competence. The term of Kal means time, hence Kal comprises in its existence past, present and future as they are understood by people in general. However, it is impossible to fix a cosmic point of time for Kals origin or to predict its end. Beginning and ending are unreal terms, created by mans outgoing faculties that detect an apparent beginning and an apparent ending in everything which happens in his surroundings. From the point of view of a higher consciousness we have to see that a thing which can be considered the beginning of an event in the physical world has happened unseen as a thought in the mental-astral realm, and above these realm there are regions which surpass time or Kal itself. But nevertheless, it can be said that the duration of Kal ranges from one big cycle to another whereas the universe composed of mind and material remains in its revealed form until it finally disintegrates. The main task of Kal as the Negative binding Power in the creation is to bind mankind to the wheel of births and deaths; and the longlasting upward struggle against the Negative Power is governed by the Supreme Master in order to liberate us from our sins and impurities and to prepare us for our Journey to our True Home, the Homestead of all Love and Blissfulness. If the development of man has been accomplished by the wheel of rebirth his task in the physical world should be completed, but mans soul gets captured by the unending scenery of the down draging Negative Power. Kal is the creator of the laws of nature which are to be obeyed by all as long as they live in the physical body. In the lotus seventh hath Kal his seat, there shall thou Jot Niranjan meet. Swami Ji As the creator of the lower worlds, in most of the religious communities he is known as God. The hierarchical representatives of the lower, astral and physical plains of existence serve him loyally. Only the Adepts of Mysticism and Their disciples know of a higher God than Kal, and yet the Negative Power is worshipped by millions of people as the Supreme Lord of creation.3 In comparison with the perfection of the True Supreme Lord of Love known as Sat Purush in the Eastern terminology Kal is only an assisting power in the hierarchy of the cosmic universe, and hence he

is not completely free of imperfections. However, in comparison with the majority of men, Kal is a sublime being, an incarnation of light, wisdom and power. Kals hierarchic representatives, known as Brahmas Incarnations in the East, are the Avatars and Prophets, whose mission are to incarnate themselves at any times in order to abolish injustice and evil, to protect the good ones and to punish the evildoers, and to establish righteousness throughout the world. These Incarnations bring the promise of salvation to the righteous people; but this salvation is still bound to the time scale of the lower realms and is therefore not eternal. The stream of Kal or time is endless to mankind in its course, but with the guidance of a Master of the Highest Order, souls can transcend time and space and ascend into the timeless kingdom of the Supreme Lord of Love. Such an Adept of Mysticism does not belong to Kals internal government, although He respects all those who play their roles in bringing order to the creation. But the Adept of Mysticism is an envoy of the Supreme Lord and has got the task to rescue souls and to accompany them into their True Home. Thus out of the three ways the aspirant sees during his journey upwards through the astral realm, the Inner Region of Kals rule is the path on the left-hand side. In this region you can find thousands and thousands of Holy Men absorbed in deep meditation, enchanted by the intrigues and flattering of the Negative Power. Incarnations of lower spiritual powers, known as riddhis and siddhis 4 supra-natural powers in Eastern terminology, are the guardians of these regions situated at the left side. These incarnations are real and visible and equipped with an extended consciousness. Pitiless, and on guard they offer the aspirant great knowledge and physical power to prevent any further ascent of his soul, but they cannot withstand the Simran of the five Holy Names the essence of which is the name of the Almighty given by the Adept of Mysticism and they vanish when these names are uttered. Man who stepped into the astral realm without the guidance of a Competent Adept of Mysticism are misled by these supra-natural powers, and many of the occult circles which grew like mushrooms from the soil in the 19th and 20th centuries get their inspiration from those riddhis and siddhis. There are also millions of Prophets of higher or lower rank as well as incarnations of small deities and spiritual hermits who are stranded in these regions. Unless they are liberated from Kals shackles through

an Adept of Mysticism of the Highest Order, they cannot advance to the realm of pure Spirituality. No soul that has gone this way without the guidance of an Adept of Mysticism has ever reached the Spiritual Realm of pure Love which is high above the materio-spiritual ones. For the aspirant, however, who was initiated by a Competent Adept of Mysticism, the ascent is free of all hindrances.

Second:
The way which the aspirant can see at his right-hand side grants access to far higher universes which, however, end up in a blind alley.

Third:
The True Main Road of the Adept of Mysticism is the road in the middle, an immensely brilliant Path which finally leads to the Kingdom of the Supreme Lord. The aspirant proceeds on this shining way until he reaches the region of Bunk-Naal, which appears just before the mental and causal regions. At the high plain of Sahasdal Kanwal, in the upper districts of the astral realm, the aspirant sees the Bright Spiritual Form of the Adept of Mysticism i.e. Guru Dev; and this is his first Inner Revelation concerning the True Nature of his Spiritual Leader Whom he only has seen in the shell of a physical body by now. Tulsi Sahib, a highest order Adept of Mysticism, stated that in the Inner Realms there sparkles a bright Light from the toe-nails of the Master and enlightens the soul of the devotee. Maulana Rumi spoke about the experience of seeing the Radiating Form of the Guru Dev as follows: When the Light of the Master dawns in the soul, you experience the secrets of both worlds. Guru Arjan asserts: The Sacred Form of the Master is in my forehead. Whenever I tap inside I see Him there. And Khawaja Mueen-du-Din Chishti poetically spoke about this Internal Relationship with the Adept of Mysticism as follows: Oh Master! The sun cannot withstand the splendour of Your countenance. Even the moon has covered its face to escape from

Your Bright Light. In the person of Nabi (the Prophet) Himself, God has chosen a material form, just like the sunlight in the body of the moon. Even the Christian writings have described the experience of the vision of the Radiating Form of the Adept of Mysticism very precisely: And I did turn to see the voice that did speak with me, and having turned, I saw seven golden lamp-stands, and in the midst of the seven lamp-stands, (one) like to a son of man, clothed to the foot, and girt round at the breast with a golden girdle, and His head and hairs white, as if white wool as snow, and His eyes as a flame of fire; and His feet like to fine brass, as in a furnace having been fired, and His voice as a sound of many waters Revelation 1:12-15 Now, the Shining Shape of the Adept of Mysticism reveals the highest regions of the astral realm to the vision of the aspirant; and in companionship with the Adept of Mysticism he proceeds into the region of Sahasdal Kanwal, the thousand-petalled lotus of cosmic energy. In this power station all matters of the physical universe and of the astral planes are controlled. By the mystics these petals are mentioned as the one thousand eyes and ears of God. One thousand eyes hast Thou, and one thousand faces; still art Thou One. Guru Nanak When the spirit within did flame resplendent spring, then face to face with God Niranjan did it bring. Guru Ram Das Sahasdal Kanwal is a radiating, pulsating cosmos, and this bright region is illuminated by a central flame which possesses the most intense illuminating power of all astral realms. Numerous melodies and harmonies of enchanting beauty originate from this immense splendour, and those who are in this region believe in fact that they are in the ultimate heaven. And yet, they only stand at the first step of the grand, ascending main road of the Adept of Mysticism, of the Holy Shabd the Sound Current coming from the right side , for only at this region, the real journey, guided by the Adept of Mysticism, begins.

When the human mind comes to the regions of Sahasdal Kanwal, it becomes clear that it has really slept over periods of innumerable incarnations and that it has been now awakened for the higher realms of the Inner Cosmos. Even for the most advanced yogis, Sahasdal Kanwal is the last and ultimate level, as the streams of life called pranas by Eastern Mystics and necessary in the Yoga practice do not go beyond it. This high astral level is incredibly vast and awe-inspiring, and the Holy Men who live here cannot understand that there are countless more beautiful and far higher Spiritual Realms beyond Sahasdal Kanwal. But the disciple of an Adept of Mysticism has to ascend far higher in order to achieve Real Spiritual Liberation. _______________ Explanation: 1) Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva correspond to the archangels Michael, Israel and Gabriel. 2) It is reported that, after the Prophet Mohammed was practising the connection with Awaz-imustqim the Sound Current for 15 years in the cave of Hira, originating in the reverberation of bells the archangel Gabriel gradually assumed sound, shape and form. Thus the Koran was dictated to Him. 3) For an explanation on this, see the Anurag Sagar by Kabir on the website www.santmat-thetruth.de, Button / Anurag Sagar. 4) Supernatural powers, physical and mental, achieved by yoga practices.

Man-making
Basically, there are two stages which have to be passed through, before the struggling disciple rises above body consciousness; and only then he begins to enjoy the Spiritual Exercises and finally enters the Path of Spirituality.

At the first stage, the disciple has little or no knowledge at all of the self-examination and he is in a state of abysmal ignorance. At the second stage the disciple begins to realise that he has got numerous faults and weaknesses which have to be overcome before he can hope to go above body consciousness; that is when his True Path begins.

This second stage, which is a long-lasting struggle with the lower inclinations of mind to most people, is called man-making. Spirituality or the ascent from the lower regions of existence to higher regions, where there is unspeakable delight and harmony, is not difficult, it is mans development that is so knotty. There is no definite time limit to this second stage. Everything depends on the disciples capability to discipline himself, to keep the Masters commandments and to develop affection for Him. The arrogant self is the last hindrance that has to be overcome, and this is not possible until the soul begins to find itself; if it gets at least a glimpse of its Real Nature a natural humility will develop in the disciples as a result of it. Consider that this must not be confused with submissiveness. Real Humility possesses power, and yet it is not arrogant. Though the Masters gracious power is always present to help the disciple in his struggle, the disciple has to walk through this stage on his own. Nobody else can do it for him. You were put on the Path and you were given something to start with being it more or less, depending on the background the soul has, which will stay with you on your further way. A seed-corn was placed into you, which surely must bear fruit one day, and the Master in His subtle form of Light and Sound is your permanent companion. And He is really capable of revealing to you His wonderful, Radiating Form Guru Dev , if you have learned to rise above body consciousness. You need not expect getting into higher regions if you have not achieved a high degree of perfection. It is common to assume a duration of 20 years and more for worldly studies in order to get the necessary qualifications for a career. How much more time and how much greater effort the initiate will have to put in in order to become an appropriate vessel for the truth of ones own soul and of God. Some people have a very strange view; they expect self and GodRealisation in a short time and with little effort, whereas the same people worry for years to get the pot full of food only this world has to offer. Kirpal Singh [] Proficiency demands persistent and earnest efforts. Time factor is also necessary. Each bit laid for the Spiritual Edifice counts creditably for your Inner Journey. The Light of Life is in you; indeed you live by that very Light whether you realise it or not. Each one of you has had an experience of that Holy Light. Now you must live in constant contact with the Holy Light. It is

uncreated and shadowless, eternally the same and peerless. The whole creation came into being by the same Light, and that very Light is shining in every heart. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974

The Way through the causal Realms

When the aspirant goes beyond Sahasdal Kanwal, the negative powers ruled by Kal, are most severe. Kal can neither create nor destroy a soul, neither give Light nor Sound, but he can keep souls traped in the causal and astral realms as well as in the physical region. He captures mans soul with the chains of worldly pleasures and if a soul wishes to return to its Eternal Home, Kal releases all his powers to prevent this soul from its ascending.

But Sat Purush, the Sublime Lord of Love, is the Supreme Godhood and the Creator of all universes. The Perfect Adept of Mysticism is His incarnation, and He can safely guide the soul through Kals regions. Immediately before the aspirant reaches the atrium to the causal realms the soul encounters indescribably handsome men and beautiful women in the higher astral regions who offer incredible temptations to prevent the soul from its further ascent. The protecting Shabd-Power of the Adept of Mysticism will make these tempting astral entities invisible to the aspirant. No negative power can approach the charisma of Shabd the Sound Current which was given by a Perfect Adept of Mysticism. When you see the bright star within, the day star, as Jesus puts it, just fix your Inner Gaze minutely into the centre thereof. This will give you penetration and away through the star and you will cross it. At times, the Master also appears over there. While hearing the Sound, please do not try to stick to It, but listen carefully to the Sound and gradually you will hear the Sound distinctly as that of drum-beat or thunder. The Master-Power is overhead and will be extending all possible help, Grace and protection. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 Maulana Rumi said about the protecting Mercy of Pir, the Master: Oh, courageous soul, hold on to the garment of Somebody Who knows the various levels well. The physical, mental, supra-mental ones and the levels beyond it and Who as a True Friend, whether in life or death, can stay with you in this or the next world. Now the aspirant prepares himself for the second stage of his journey upwards, but before he is able to enter the causal realm, he has to pass on an incredibly narrow path, a curved tunnel or a bent pipe, known to the Eastern Adepts of Mysticism as Bunk-Naal. Kabir said about this tunnel to the mental worlds that it had only one tenth of the size of a mustard seed. And He compares the mind to that of an elephant. Guru Nanak also described this tunnel and compared it with a passage which is only one tenth of a hairs breadth. Other Adepts of Mysticism compared it to the eye of a thin needle. It is impossible for the aspirant to cross this tunnel without the assistance of a Competent Adept of Mysticism, but with the help of such a Master of Spirituality the path is broadened and the aspirant succeeds in ascending and descending without difficulties.

Thus, the initiated enters the causal regions through the U-shaped tunnel of Bunk-Naal. For some time the way forward is straight and even, but suddenly it drops steeply. After a downward bend it leads upwards again, and the initiated walks on an even path that leads to a region which is described as the seventh heaven in the Sufi literature. If the initiated has reached the upper end of the Bunk-Naal tunnel his view and the whole perspective seems to be turned upside down, and he sees just like from the opposite side of the curtain or mirror which he has penetrated. Now he is in the second big division of creation known as Brahmand egg of Brahm in Eastern Mysticism. Obviously, it is called Brahmand because of its elliptic form. In its totality it comprises the materio-spiritual as well as the physical universes, but it is much bigger than these two together, and, in fact, the three lower divisions of the entire cosmic creation can be perceived as a whole, the highest level of which is Brahmand, the spirituo-material division; in the centre there are the astral regions as the materio-spiritual section, and the lowest part is formed by the physical universe. The residents of the causal regions are unspeakably happy, but after a long stay in Brahmand they are still subject to the final rebirth into the physical universe. Hence, they are not immortal as the liberated souls in the purely Spiritual Regions are, but they live in an immeasurable longer scale of time than the beings in the astral and physical universes. Brahmand is ruled by Maha Kal, which is also known as Par Brahm in Eastern teachings. Maha Kal is the higher aspect of Kal and is located in the upper Spiritual Regions of Brahmand, just as Kal rules in the lower and more material regions. In the lower regions of Brahmand the mental matter ranks first, for it is the level of mind, and mind itself consists of a refined form of matter and a certain amount of spirit. The aspirant ascends to the lower levels of Brahmand and finds himself in the realm of the Universal Mind, known as Trikuti in Eastern teachings. This realm of Universal Mind was mistaken for God by a lot of metaphysicians and mystic theologians; however, to the Adepts of Mysticism and Their disciples this is only the initial stage of the second step on their journey upwards. When the aspirant ascends to this region of Trikuti he hears a sublime melody that is very similar to a tonal expression of the word Om. It is a lingering, roaring sound reminiscent of the thunder of storm clouds on earth, but full of an unworldly sweetness and harmony. This sound comes from the middle of the rolling sound of the thunder of clouds.

Here we have the four-petalled lotus. The light is red like that of the early dawn. Beyond that through the tunnel of Bunk the soul doth penetrate to where most dreadful Kal hath cast his snare. From here doth to Trikuti spring where ruddy is the glow and word doth Onkar sing. Swami Ji Onkar created god Brahm, Onkar doth he adore, Onkar created yugas (the cycle of time), Onkar revealed the Vedas. Guru Nanak The seat of the will-power is located in Antakaran, the four-petalled lotus behind the eyes, reflecting in the heart-centre. The mind acts from the four-petalled lotus to the heart-centre and from there into the world. Hence it is perspicuous that the seat of Lord Shiva or the archangel Gabriel is the heart-chakra, yet the eye of Shiva, the Shiv Netra or Single Eye is to find behind and inbetween the two eyebrows. Trikuti is a level in which the soul can travel through a roaring planetary path, a literal way through pulsating celestial bodies. If the soul of the initiated looks upward into this direction, it arrives at a region of fortress-like buildings with high towers and minarets. It will stay for some while in this region and it is filled with the features of devotion and belief, it sees itself as the master of the mental level. The region of the fortress is the warehouse of the human karmas, the records of past and present. The law of karma, the irrevocable law of cause and effect, governs the whole tripartite creation of the causal, astral and physical universes. Each humans individual karma determines his fate. The way and manner that someone has acted in his present and past courses of life determines what he is now. The karmic law acts permanently, since a man is what he thinks in his heart. Which other way is there in order to conclude or release the karmic debts of a man than the long and seemingly endless cycle of birth and rebirth? Part of the answer to this question is given in the fortress region of the causal worlds; but nobody can get there without a Competent Spiritual Guide. At the physical level it seems to be so that as soon as one has atoned for his past faults he creates new karma for himself and has to pay tribute to the law of cause and effect. Kal is sitting at the supreme judges seat of the astral, causal and physical universes; he is the master of the karmas, and only an Incarnation can be authorized to change certain dispositions of Kal in order to

release a soul from the wheel of births and deaths. Such an Incarnation is the Master of the highest order, known as Sant Satguru in Eastern terminology. As soon as such an Adept of Mysticism has taken an aspirant under His protection, this aspirant will be released from his link to Kal, the Negative Power the binding power , and after that his karmic debts part of which is released at the time of initiation will be subsequently redeemed by the Mercy of the Adept of Mysticism. If the disciples reaches the fortress region by the Mercy of the Adept of Mysticism, the germs of his past karmas will be destroyed finally, though his soul is still loaded with the fault of major impurity which was accumulated during many incarnations. During his stay at the region of the fortress the disciple looks over the high minarets and views vast dark clouds from which the roaring sound of cosmic thunder permanently resounds. Dont be afraid of the deep thunder in it, follow the Sound of Thunder, It will take you to the Masters feet. If the purpose of his stay in the region of the fortress has been achieved, the initiated rises above the black clouds and recognise that the whole region is a grand cosmos of vibrating red Light with a wonderful red sun in the centre of the sky which renders the carmine hue to the entire region. In addition to being the big warehouse of human karmas a large stock which has accumulated in the course of millions of lives , Trikuti is also a region of knowledge. The three cosmic features of harmony, activity and inactivity have their origin in Trikuti and enabled the creation of the astral and physical universes. In Hindu writings, these three features are embodied by Brahma, Vishnu Lord Krishna and Shiva1 who are called Maha Dev great God collectively. Below the bright red sky of Trikuti that reminds of the most beautiful dawn one can experience on earth, the Radiating Shape of the Adept of Mysticism the Master is seen in still bigger Glory and the initiated experiences the higher impulses of the Heavenly Shabd Sound Current in a way that goes beyond all his former experience in the astral and physical regions. The initiate sees the cosmic form of a blazing four-petalled lotus of regnant red colour, which develops itself into various prodigious details and multifarious bright sounds, which become clearer and clearer the further he approaches the lotus. Now he can hear the mighty Sound of a Giant Drum which is beaten incessantly, and its deep sounds accompany him at this stage of his journey upwards. If the initiated continues his way he will travel through the infinite space of the causal region and the melody of the drum is to be heard everywhere.

Now, the initiate fully understands the significance of the Heavenly Shabd, the audible Stream of Life, the original Power of which brought about the whole creation. The initiate rises on a pulsating starstudded Path leading forward and upward and consisting of numerous suns, moons and stars that become visible and disappear again. Words are entirely incomplete to describe this experience, for now the disciple completely recognises his absolute separation from the material universe and from the languages of the physical world. When he rises into the upper regions of the causal realm the initiated will get drunk with joy and bliss because of his newly won liberty. He hurries across glowing cosmic mountains and wonderful regions. Below him, he can see wonderful gardens, where vibrating flowers are arranged in symmetric patterns to form a symphony of colours and sounds. Bright rivers and channels of the ethereal Nectar of Brahm are meandering through this region, and, finally, the initiated approaches a huge, bright, shining ocean and crosses it on a bridge of Light. Now he sees the awe-inspiring hills of Mer, Sumer and Kailash in front of him, the incredibly cosmic mountains that gave the region of Trikuti its name. According to the Vedantic teachings of the old rishis, holy men, who at their snow-covered mountains of the Himalayas meditated on the nature of the cosmic universe, this level of consciousness is the ultimate aim of Spiritual Striving. However, this is only the second step on the mystical Path of Love, the Path of Sant Mat. ***** Regarding that, Hazur Baba Sawan Singh Ji Maharaj states the following in a letter to His disciple: The teachers from Brahmand, the Avatars ascent with the three Light Currents, the three Gunas, wich arise behind the eyes. After they transcended Sahasdal Kanwal, the thousend-petalled lotus, they reach the second plane and end at the peak of the mountain Sumer and they cannot rise higher up. On the other hand those who practise the Sound Currents respectively the Saints by means of the Sound Current go upwards to the first plane, from there They go downwards through some kind of a tunnel to the second plane and from there further to the third and from there finally to the 8th plane. Between the two exist the three following differences:

1.

The Saints reach the eighth stage whereas the BrahmandAvatars do not go beyond the second one. 2. The Saints use the Sound whereas the Avatars voyage with the Light or with the Sound of the second stage. 3. Because the second stage lies within the domain of Kal and Maya and the covers of all three bodies, i.e. the physical, the astral and the causal cannot be taken off until the third plane is reached the souls of the Avatars are not that steady towards temptations. And hence they always come back again into this world in certain periods of time. Hence the souls of the Saints are cleaned from all impurities of Kal and Maya or Brahm, their souls pace further on and from stage to stage they attain always more power, until in the eights stage they merge into the Highest Being, becoming One with Him. In this manner, you will understand that They never come back. All religions of the world including yogis, yogeshwars, gyanis, prophets, incarnations etc. end at the second stage. Humility and modesty sometimes become a danger for the Inner Journey of the soul if one has to finish his task quickly, because it is possible that the individual spirit leads us astray to his own fields and therefore delays our further progress just like in this world. Hence avoid those who tend to hold you up. Complete faith without any wavering one does not attain before the karma is washed away, which is done at the second stage. ***** Guru Nanak described this region of Brahmand as follows: This much of the realm of dharma; and now Gyan Khand the realm of knowledge: countless its elements, air, water and fire, and countless Krishnas and Shivas, and countless the Brahmas fashioning various creations of countless forms and countless hues. Countless the fields of action2, countless the golden mountains3, and countless the Dhrus4 meditating therein. Countless the Indras, countless the suns and moons, and countless the earthly and stellar regions; countless the Siddhas, the Buddhas, the Naths, and countless the gods and goddesses. Countless the Danus5 and the Sages, and countless the bejewelled oceans. Countless the sources of creation, countless the harmonies, countless those that listen unto them, and countless the devotees of the Word, endless and unending, oh Nanak, is this realm. Jap Ji, Stanza 35

This glorious region is the realm of the Universal Mind through which the Supreme Lord created the cosmic universes. However, the Supreme Lord is not this Universal Mind, despite the differently phrased reports given by a lot of modern metaphysicians and mystics. The Universal Mind is a projection of the will of the Supreme Being to reflect a part of Himself into His creation. Man, who is created in the image of the Lord also acts through his mind creatively, but he is not the mind. Man is a living soul, a Spiritual Being of Gods Spirit and on his journey upwards the initiated striving for higher regions realises that the human mind is still much lower on the ladder of the Inner Universes than the Spiritual Aspects of the mankind, despite the wonderful functions and the creative power of mind. Beyond this realm of Universal Mind there is that region about which Christ said: But there is neither anything hidden that was not revealed, nor secretly anything that you will never know. St Luke 8:17 The aspirant has to remain some time in this causal region, a realm of unspoilt joy, while his entire karmic burden is destroyed in the fortress-like region. The Adept of Mysticism orders him to meditate for some time in this causal realm in order to further clean his soul from impurities. If this purification has been achieved the Adept of Mysticism will encourage the initiated to proceed to the higher regions beyond Brahmand. The ascent must be aimed at the super causal regions, which are known as Par Brahm beyond Brahm or Daswan Dwar the tenth gate in Eastern Mysticism. The practice of the permanent Sound Current purifies all your sins and lusts and the karmic impressions of the previous births will be destroyed. Finally with the light of self-knowledge and God-Knowledge, one will rise into the Universal Consciousness, recognise Brahm and Par Brahm and attain the Kingdom of God, the Eternal Inheritance, which is far above it. By the Mercy of a Competent Master the lost Word returns to Light and Life and is a free gift to every one who is chosen by Him. Kirpal Singh

Those are fortunate who were recognised, selected and were initiated into the mysteries of the beyond, by being connected with the Divine Attributes of the Holy Light and the celestial Sound Current. Kirpal Singh _______________ Explanation: 1) In the teachings of other Adepts of Mysticism they are known as arch angels Michael, Israel and Gabriel. See the Book Crown of Life p. 65. 2) Karm Bhumi: a place, where one is endowed with a free will, and reaps the fruits of his own actions. This world is termed as Karm Bhumi for here reigns the principle of action and reaction or cause and effect. 3) The three elevations in Trikuti; Mer, Sumer and Kailash: The golden mountains seen in this Spiritual Plane by the devotees. 4) Dhru: a Saint proverbial for his steadfast meditation. 5) Danus: Demigods.

The Way through the super causal Regions

When the initiate leaves the region of Brahmand he passes through a huge Inner Space in order to arrive at the super causal region of Daswan Dwar where the ultimate purification of the longing soul has to take place. In Daswan Dwar, all veils and covers have been removed from the soul which then shines in its original Glory. The Lord of Daswan Dwar is Rarankar. In this vast region the soul takes a bath in the cosmic lake of immortality which is known in the Eastern terminology as Mansarovar or Amritsar. Once released from its last impurities, the soul is longing for the blissful unification with the Supreme Lord of Love. Guru Nanak wrote about this wonderful area: [] Next, the Realm of Ecstasy, where the Word is enrapturing. Everything created here is marvelously strange, and beyond description, whoever tries to describe the same, must repent his folly. Herein the mind, reason and understanding are etherealised, the self comes to its own, and develops the penetration of the gods and the sages. Jap Ji, Stanza 36 Guru Nanak stated that the Spiritual Lake of Amritsar is the only True Place of Holy Pilgrimage which lies in every Hindu, Christian, Moslem, Sikh, in the believer as well as in the unbeliever. It is a cosmic centre of Spirituality where the longing soul is released from all its sins. Some of the worlds religions commenced at the super causal region, but these are the exceptions to the rule, for most of the social religious communities proceeded from the causal region with Kal or Brahm there are different names as their supreme deity. In fact, mystics and their disciples who ascend to this refined level at which the spirit is mixed with substance in various degrees, are rare. All the cosmic energy of Daswan Dwar has the structure of an eightpetalled lotus that is penetrated by Divine Melodies which remind you of string instruments Kingri, an one-chorded Instrument on earth. However, even here any comparison and conformity is absolutely incorrect, for the sounds of music at our physical level can by no

means be equated with the grandeur of the Eternal Music, the Anhand Shabd, which can be heard endlessly in this high realm. Guru Nanak once met some yogis who were playing the kingri and said to them: This is not the kingri that will deepen your contemplation. Play upon that kingri, oh sadhus, which is part of the Anahad Shabd, the Unstruck Music, and which unites you with God. The Sound of the Kingri is coming from heaven. It is not the sound of any wordly instrument. Khwaja Hafiz In all hearts ringeth the music of the lute, its tunes exhilarate night and day; full rare are they who these enjoy, curb the mind, and by Gurus Grace enlightened be. Guru Nanak The Spiritual Lake of Amritsar is also known as Tribeni, the confluence of three rivers of Spiritual energy. These three cosmic streams of Love, Light and Power come down from the Supreme Lord to preserve and support the universe of universes. The outer Tribeni which is a junction of the three sacred rivers, Ganges, Jumna and Saraswati, is also only symbolic of the Inner Tribeni. The real river, the Spiritual Currents of power, are inside, and so is Amritsar. The sages of old saw these things inside and named the outer objects after them just for instructing us. Only the Inner Tribeni, as well as the Inner Amritsar cleanse the soul of its karmas. After bathing there, the soul becomes amar, or immortal, and does not have to reincarnate. This is the True Shrine of Holiness where the higher seeking soul becomes immaculate and immortal after having had its bath of purification. Now it has gone beyond its causal, astral and physical coverings and no features of the three lower regions of mind and matter stick to it any longer. Now, the immaculate Soul brightly and radiantly appears in the light of twelve suns. It does not need to be reborn in the lower levels unless it is ordered by the Supreme Lord Himself. It has tasted the Nectar of the incomparable music Amrit and has a complete insight into the Real Nature of the creation.

In the realm of Daswan Dwar the liberated Soul completely realises that it is Love in its essence just like the Supreme Lord of Love Himself. He, who comes here, is called Sadh. A Sadh is one who has gone beyond the region of Trikuti Onkar which is the same as Lahut in Sufi terminology, and Hu in Islamic theology. He has witnessed the spirit in its pristine Glory, after having rid it of all coverings, and is now Trigunatit beyond the three gunas: satva, rajas, and tamas, in which all human beings work according to their natural and native instincts; beyond the five elements earth, water, fire, air and ether, of which the physical world is composed; beyond the twenty-five prakritis the subtle forms in varying degrees of the elements; and beyond also mind and matter. In short, He is an adept in self-knowledge, or the art and science of spirit, and can, at will, disengage the spirit from various koshas sheaths or caskets in which it is enclosed like a priceless gem. The greatness of a Sadh lies beyond the three Gunas as he is Trigunatit. By a process of self-analysis, he a Sadh has known the self or spirit in its Real Form to wit, that it is of the same essence as God, and now he strives for God-Knowledge. Godman (First Edition, 1967) III. Gradations in Mastership, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 Now, the soul really knows where the Supreme Lord resides and its most sublime desire is to consubstantiate with Him. Concerning this state of consciousness the Adepts of Mysticism explained that nobody is a True Theist before having realised this nature of God in himself. Until this great accomplishment is achieved, the aspirant relies on the statements of the Saints and Sages. In most of the writings of the world such an evidence has been recorded, but the reading of Holy Books, as desirable it might be in many respects, never can grant the individual a conscious experience and the perception of the Supreme Lord in him. Referring to the external Spiritual Practices and comparing them with the Internal Search, Guru Nanak says:

Pilgrimages, austerities, mercy, charity and alms-giving, cease to be of any consequence, when one gets an ingress into the Til 1, the Inner Eye; communion with and practice of the Holy Word, with heart full of devotion, procures admittance into the Inner Spiritual Realms, washing away the dirt of sins at the Sacred Fount2 within. [] Jap Ji, Stanza 21 If the soul has taken a bath in the sacred fount within, the Lake of Amritsar, it joins other pure souls, which are known as Hansas, swans, in the esoteric literature, and enjoys the magnificent and enchanting beauty of this region. Ninth lotus is in Daswan Dwar. Par Brahm liveth there aloof. Swami Ji Afterwards the soul rises to the higher levels of Daswan Dwar and at a certain stage it recognises the immense island, the kingdom Achit Dip at its right-hand side with its bright form of a twelve-petalled lotus and sees at its left-hand side the delightful region Sahaj Dip which presents itself as a splendidly designed ten-petalled lotus. Then the soul reaches the first passage to a dreadful Tibar-Khand or Maha Sunn, the region of darkness. At the entrance to Maha Sunn the highest esoteric knowledge about creation will be imparted to the soul. Only at this high Spiritual Level this knowledge is given, and it is never possible to proclaim it by means of spoken or written words at the lower levels of creation. If the soul has absorbed this knowledge in itself, it will begin, accompanied by the Adept of Mysticism, its way through the big Maha Sunn, which is another emptiness of unbelievable darkness. Just as fish is drawn with the fishing hook so is soul taken through Maha Sunn by the force of Satgurus own attention. Tulsi Sahib Only by merging His own soul does the Satguru draw the disciples soul beyond the region of birth and rebirth. Guru Nanak When the soul reacheth Maha Sunn the Satguru is there to accompany thee and take thee across. Swami Ji

In this depressive region, Maha Kal, the highest form of the Negative binding Power, has put a billion deterrent obstacles in the way of the seeking soul. Only that soul which has once crossed this black emptiness with the assistance of an Adept of Mysticism can pass Maha Sunn freely from then onwards. Countless souls, each one shining with the brightness of twelve suns, live in this region, but they are not capable of liberating themselves from this bond, for, though the soul possesses such a brightness, it is overpowered by this infernal darkness and it cannot penetrate this black emptiness without the kind Mercy and protection of an Adept of Mysticism of the Highest Order. Before the soul starts its journey through Maha Sunn, it learns about the existence of four Spiritual Regions which were not mentioned in the external teachings of the Adepts of Mysticism. These regions are the levels of the highest Spiritual Prisoners who are known as Bandivan in Eastern terminology. In their respective regions, these prisoners are not subject to any constraints, but they cannot go beyond them. Sometimes, some of them will see an ascending soul accompanied by an Adept of Mysticism, and they implore the soul to intercede for them so that they can also rise to the higher Spiritual Regions. If he considers it right, only the Adept of Mysticism can agree to such a request, for He is an indispensable guide for the soul, if it wants to travel safely through the extensive dark emptiness of Maha Sunn. Beyond the region of Maha Sunn there are five immense Spiritual Regions which gain more and more significance when the soul rises. The lowest region is Bhanwar Gupha or the rotating hollow the last region before the soul arrives at the realm of the Supreme Lord, the True Home of the spirit. While the soul is approaching this unspeakable region of Bhanwar Gupha it can hear the melody of four Sound Currents, each of Them coming from an invisible spring. One of these cosmic melodies drowns all the others and the soul feels that these melodies are indescribable and unspeakably beautiful. The soul also sees five egg-shaped universes, all of which are macrocosms of other cosmic creations. Each of these cosmic systems has a dominant colour as e.g. yellow or green and it is penetrated and governed by a great spirit like Brahm. In comparison to these regions the whole universe below the region of causality seems to be as insignificant as a dust particle. You penetrate the immense vastness and also the world beyond it, for all this is your revelation. Nanak prays: Grant me the community with the Saints the ship in order to cross the sea of life and death. Guru Granth Sahib

It is not to be confused with Amritsar, the sacred pool founded by Guru Ram Das, 4th Guru.

The last Part of the Journey

After the soul has risen from the dark emptiness, the Maha Sunn, it reaches that Inner Level which is known as Bhanwar Gupha or also: the bent tunnel in the terminology of the Eastern Adepts of mysticism. The soul ascends the peak from its west gate and penetrates across Maha Sunn. By throwing open the gate of Bhanwar Gupha it hearkens to the Music of the Flute that emanates from Sohang. Swami Ji This is the fourth realm above the physical level, a region of Spiritual Substance with only slight additions of material. If the soul proceeds it will cross a high, radiating pass above the vibrant breakers of Spiritual Force which is known as the Hansni Tunnel. Then, it proceeds through the huge entrance of the splendid Rukmini Tunnel where it sees an unbelievably beautiful object the radiation of which has an impact on the view of the soul with the effect that the souls Nirat the visual faculty and its Surat the capability to hear are finally completed and gain Real Peace. Then, the soul progresses to a higher region of this Spiritual Realm and sees at its right-hand side bright cosmic islands of an immense beauty and at the left-hand side many continents with splendid palaces which seemed to be built of pearls and the upper storeys of which are decorated with rubies, emeralds and diamonds. The splendour of all these cosmic scenes fills the soul with a wonderful drunkenness. Bhanwar Gupha is governed by a Great Spiritual Sovereign Whose name is translated into That is me! in the terminology of the Adepts of Mysticism of the Far and Middle East.

And, in fact, the Sufi-Masters know the whole region as Anahu, which, in turn, means That is me! In the region of Bhanwar Gupha Sohang the soul totally recognises its relationship to the Creator and consciously knows that it is a droplet of the Divine Spirit in the Ocean of All-Consciousness and exclaimes: I and my Father are One! Maulana Rumi wrote about the mourning tones of a flute which is played on a mountain top and which speaks of the separation of the soul from its True Source. The music which penetrates this region is that of a heavenly flute; and it was that music which sounded in the conscience of the Great Maulana Rumi. But nevertheless, here again there is nothing in the physical world which can stand up to the comparison with the wonderful sound of Bhanwar Guphas melody. This sound emanates from the sparkling cosmic mountain that overlooks this region majestically and above which the soul sees a huge sun with a dazzling white Light that is a thousand times brighter than the physical sun of our solar system. The Sound Current of flute which you were hearing previously as reported is quite good. This should be listened to with rapt attention. It will grow stronger, draw closer, and ultimately come from above. It will eventually bless you with such a ravishing bliss that your mind will become subdued for good in due course of time with the grace of the Master. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 Guru Nanak sang about this region: Higher still stands Karm Khand, the Realm of Grace, here the Word is all in all, and nothing else prevails. Here dwell the bravest of the brave, the conquerors of the mind, filled with the Love Divine, here dwell devotees with devotion, incomparable as Sitas. 1 Illumined with beauty ineffable, all hearts filled with God, they live beyond the reach of death and of delusion2. [] Jap Ji, Stanza 37 Bhanwar Gupha is really a region of Beauty and Light, and the souls living there receive the elixir of the Sound Current just as we eat and drink at the physical realm every day.

And yet, Bhanwar Gupha and all regions below it, the super causal, causal, astral and physical ones, are subject to dissolution as the Adepts of Mysticism express it. Dissolution of a relatively short duration reaches up to the summit of the causal region, whereas the immensely long lasting and big dissolution reaches from the super causal region of Daswan Dwar up to the region of Bhanwar Gupha. And therefore the seeking soul has to ascend further up to gain the True Spiritual Liberation. For Sach Kand, the fifth Inner Realm above the physical realm is not subject to any cosmic dissolution, might it be big or small. Sach Kand is the True Home of the soul! This purely Spiritual Realm is called Sat Lok in Hinduism, Muqam-iHaq realm of Truth in the teachings of the Sufi melodies of Islam and Sach Khand in Sikhism the name which is used by the Indian Adepts of Mysticism or the Satgurus. Sach Khand is free of any physical, mental and spiritualised matter. In the words of the Adepts of Mysticism it is unchangeable and eternal, all Joy and Blissfulness, all Wisdom and all Love, the Homestead of God. Here reside the Perfected Spiritual Beings and the Highest Ranking Saints of all times in unspeakable splendour. Guru Nanak said: Here live the Bhagats or Wise from all regions Who please the True One, and They live in Everlasting Pleasure. In Bhanwar Gupha, the region below Sach Khand, there are 88 000 universes and the residents of these universes are all supporters of Spiritual Adepts Who have gained entrance into this region. However, in Sach Khand itself, there are many million spheres under the merciful rule of the True Lord, and cosmic islands of the Blessed One rotate around this region, just as our tiny earth rotates around the sun. These spheres are the dwelling places of the Hansas, the pure souls, who never descended into the lower levels. With the words of Guru Nanak: [] Sach Khand or the Realm of Truth is the seat of the Formless One. Here He creates all creations, rejoicing in creating. Here are many regions, heavenly systems and universes, to count which were to count the countless, here, out of the Formless, the heavenly plateaux and all else come into form, all destined to move according to His will. He who is blessed with this vision, rejoices in its contemplation. But, oh Nanak, such is its beauty that to try to describe it is to attempt the impossible3. Jap Ji, Stanza 37

The Ruler of Sach Khand is known as Sat Purush, the True Being, in the Eastern terminology. The esoteric scriptures state that this Master of Love radiates a light that is equal to the light of billions of suns, although even this is still a scanty description of Him, for He is far beyond the expressiveness of human speech or reason in order to describe Him. The Sat Purush the highest revelation of God steers and controls the creation and the dissolution of the entire cosmic systems of universes below Him, but His own realm is not affected by any such changes. At last, this True Being gains His power from the Supreme Lord of all being, among the Adepts of Mysticism known as Anami Purush the Nameless One. The language of poetic imagination and symbolic description can only inadequately describe Sach Khand, for the Adepts of Mysticism state that it is even impossible to find any comparison for the finest things in this world. Sach Khand is the Homestead of the Father, and the Father is the Sat Purush, the highest revelation of the Nameless, and the soul is a beam of the Sat Purush from Whom it emanated aeons ago. According to the Adepts of Mysticism the soul radiates in the light of sixteen suns and moons when it reaches this region. Guru Nanak sang about this realm of Sat Purush in His inspired hymn: How wonderful Thy gate, how wonderful Thy mansion, from whence Thou watchest Thy great creation. Countless the instruments and harmonies that play therein, countless the measures, countless the singers, that sing Thy praises. Jap Ji, Stanza 27 Swami Ji has also described the palace of Sat Purush as a firm castle of unspeakable beauty. In Swami Jis description the soul on pilgrimage must find the Lord of Love at His throne when it reaches this realm, and it has to recognise the Lord of Love as the True Lord of the universe of all universes. Swami Ji described the wonderful premises and the parks of the courtyard of Sat Purushs palace but He repeatedly stated that this view could not be described in earthly words. At this realm there are vast reservoirs of Spiritual Nectar from which proceed rivers of a wealth of light in order to supply more remote regions with Spiritual Food. Golden palaces seem to be suspended above the cosmic gardens of a silvery light, and the beauty of the Hansas, the pure souls that live there, is incomprehensible.

The soul on pilgrimage further proceeds to the entrance of the palace of the Lord of Love, the Sat Purush, and a Hansa who is on guard asks the newcomer how he succeeded in reaching this sublime realm. The souls answer is that it came following an Adept of Mysticism or a Satguru while it stayed on earth and the Adept of Mysticism taught it the Inner Knowledge of this high realm. Following this, the soul is escorted into the palace where it is confronted with a bright Lotus of unspeakable beauty. A voice sounds from the centre of the Light in the Lotus and asks the soul who it is and with what intention, it ascended to this realm. Swami Ji describes the souls answer as follows: Puhap madh Sae uthi avaza kau tum hoe kaho kaja Satgur milae bhed sub dina tis ki kripa daras hum lina Darshan kar ut kar magnani Sat Purush tub bolae bani Alakh lok ka bhed sunaya bal upna dae surat pathaya Alakh Purush ka roop anoopa Agam Purush nirka kul bhoopa Dekh achraj kaha na jaye Kaya kaya sobha varan paye. From the lotus there arose a voice: Speak who are you and what brings you here? My Satguru gave me the key to this realm and through His Grace I am blessed with thy darshan. Beholding the Lord, it was lost in ecstasy; thereupon the Sat Purush spake giving forth the secrets of Alakh Lok and by His own power raised it further. The form of the Alakh Purush defies description; Agam Purush, the Lord of all creations His wondrous sight cannot be described and His Glory cannot be rendered in words Bachan 26, Sar Bachan Then the soul is told that it really is in the presence of the Sat Purush, Whom it recognises here as the Spiritual Power that inspired the Adept of Mysticism on earth and in the lower Spiritual Regions. Now the soul enjoys its happiness and experiences great delight at the Spiritual View of the Lord of Love. Then the Supreme Lord of Revelation teaches the soul the mysteries of the higher realms, and with the Power of Love He assists the soul with further ascending through these realms. The Adepts of Mysticism told that Sach Khands Music was comparable to a Veena / Bagpipe. All the Spiritual Masters Who spoke of Sach Khand testified the breathtaking charm of this music. Just like

its heavenly Music, Sach Khands Light cannot be described in a secular language, not even with the light of billions of suns. The Adept of Mysticism Who has initiated the higher seeking soul into the mysteries of the beyond is obliged to safely accompany it to its True Home, Sach Khand. Then, the Sat Purush inspires the soul with His Divine Energy and sends it into the higher realms of Alakh Lok the indescribable realm , Agam Lok the inconceivable realm and Anami Lok the nameless realm that is the highest Spiritual Region of all. In Anami Lok there is neither Light nor Sound, nor darkness or silence. Basically, the aspirant can only understand the idea of Sach Khand as the Highest Spiritual Realm. This really is a realm of pure spirit and the True Home of the soul. This is the highest revelation of God. Nevertheless, the Adepts of Mysticism speak of three higher realms beyond Sach Khand, though they consider it completely futile to give descriptions or statements about these Spiritual Realms. It is enough to say that the soul is caused, by the Grace of the Sat Purush, to enter the next Spiritual Realm of Alakh Lok and then comes to the cosmic palace of the Alakh Purush, Who is the ruler of this realm. If the soul has got the Darshan of the Alakh Purush, it further proceeds to Agam Lok where it views the ruler of this realm, the Agam Purush, and receives His Darshan. Again, the Adepts of Mysticism try to describe the splendour of this realm with the light of billions and billions of suns. As regards the last realm of Anami Lok, the Adepts of Mysticism remain silent. In a few words Swami Ji said: At every step the soul recognises unknown things which cannot be described in human language. Each region and everything is absolutely indescribable. What a beauty and Glory. How can I describe it? There is nothing here to give you an idea of it. I am helpless! Now the soul has seen the ruling Lord of each of the Spiritual Realms beyond Sach Khand and has united its existence with Them. This is the greatest good on the mystical Path of Love, for the Adepts of Mysticism told that the Power of Love is the strongest one in these Holy Realms. When He was asked about Anami Lok, Swami Ji simply said: It is all Love!

Thus, the collaboration of the Adept of Mysticism and Shabd leads to jivan mukti or Spiritual Liberation on the mystical Path and to the ascent of the soul to its True Home. If the Spiritual Aspirant fulfils the commandments of the Adept of Mysticism faithfully and always goes the way of Love, this Spiritual Liberation can be accomplished in one life. The aspirant will hear the permanent symphony of Love and will realise that his True Self and the Divine Word are one and the same being. This Music is so magnificent that any twaddle of the sinful mind comes to rest and the focus of the soul becomes completely absorbed in the audible Stream of Life so that it is drawn beyond the levels of mind and matter. While the aspirant rises into the higher regions of life he discovers that this is in deed the only Real Freedom a human being can ask for. This is the freedom from the ties to his lower self, the anxieties, fantasies and thoughts of hatred, his likings and dreams that haunt him when he is proceeding along the long road of repeating births and deaths. At this physical plain of existence, a human can never really be free, neither as an individual nor in the community. Only those who gain the higher Spiritual Consciousness have won freedom in the true sense of the word by claiming their actual birthright. The released soul can never be enslaved by the deceptive cravings of the lower self or the machinations of those who believe that they dominate the transient world of men by their own power. The Spiritual Conscience is both cause and climax of human development and it is impossible to describe its nature in words which are only the imaginary symbols of human imagination, for this is really a wordless and timeless state of blissfulness. Those who have gained this Spiritual Conscience know in their innermost being that they are free spirits that live in the Eternal Realms of Spiritual Freedom. He has risen with the heavenly Melodies of the spirit as Guru Nanak reports: By practice of the Word, one rises into Universal Consciousness and develops right understanding; by practice of the Word, one develops clairvoyance and transvision of the whole creation; by practice of the Word, one is freed from sorrow and suffering. [] Jap Ji, Stanza 13 Once the Spiritual Aspirant transcends the physical consciousness he will become aware of the ever resounding Power of the universe. In

the Inner Regions those illuminated Sounds can be realised as a blissful mosaic of transcedential energy, resounding Light and brilliantly shining Sounds. As Kabir said: [] The natural Inner Music is continuously flowing of itself, but only a rare soul knows of this communion []. The True Simran consists in perpetual attuning of the soul with the Inner Music, without any outer aid []. He who contacts this hidden crest-jewel, is our True Friend. Spirituality / What it is XV. / (iii) Sat Naam, by Kirpal Singh, 18971974 Being connected to this Inner Music, the aspirant loses his lower identity and will finally become One with God. Although He will remain in this world for the time allocated to Him, He is in this world yet out of it, for He is a jivan mukti, a liberated being. He is no longer an incapable slave of minds and senses but confirmed in the True Divinity. He lives for the Eternal, Divine Light of spirit and permanently listens to the Divine Music in His soul. Finally, He returns to Sach Khand, the Homestead of salvation or Muquam-i-Haq, the origin of the Sounding Light and the soul itself. Now the aspirant is a consciously liberated soul. This is the True Salvation, the highest and most complete state of being. Those who hear of this power or approach it will neither die nor be born again! For this power of Kirpal is the Great Sea of Mercy and it is therefore manifested throughout the whole creation. Guru Granth Sahib The power is always only One, but it works differently according to the demands of the respective time. Within the Competent Masters of the fifth realms this power is 50 percent revealed. Guru Gobind Singh mentioned that He had access to the seventh realm of Agam Lok. And now, during this blessed time the time of transition from the Iron to the Golden Age it is 100 percent effective. It is fully manifested. For you the Golden Age has come, for whenever the Almighty Power manifests Itself it is the Golden Age for the disciple, the time to go Home. All the other ages only served to prepare the soul so that it gets into contact with the Almighty Power now. This opportunity is now the best, for it is the shortest way back to God. You do not need a Master, if the Almighty Power does Its work.

So springtime is upon us now; there will be more fragrant Saints, I would say now, who will come up and give us through the grace of God, a contact with the God-into-Expression Power. And this is the revolution, the spiritual revolution, which is coming upan awakening all around. Satsang The coming Spiritual Revolution, given by Kirpal Singh, December 1972, South-Florida Question to Kirpal Singh: Who will be Your successor? Answer by Kirpal Singh God is searching the pole in which he reveals himself, I want you all to become my ambassadors. ***** No one before me has ever asked you so intensively and nobody after me will ever do it and have pity on you as I have. Please, please do not forget me! My work is to reveal to you the Unity already existing through all. Awake, oh man, regain your Godhood, before it is too late. On regaining your lost Godhood you will have right understanding that you are all One. Kirpal Singh _______________ Explanation: 1) Sita: Wife of Rama, who was noted for her great devotedness. 2) The word deception (delusion) refers here to the deception (delusion) by Maya or matter. 3) Karana sar: means literally as hard as iron, metaphorical for impossible.

Initiation
The Conscious Contact with the Divine Power
God is unimaginable, incomparable and indescribable. The Saints say that He is in Himself what He is. All names like Sat Naam, Onkar, etc., given for Simran were in like manner Varan Atmak1. Their sole functions were: a. to help build up Dhyan or one-pointed concentration, and b. to serve as passwords for crossing from one plane to another. The souls task and the Satgurus was to reach the fifth plane, Sat Lok, and for this five passwords, one for each realm, were needed. Once the soul entered the regions of pure spirit, no further passwords were necessary. As it beheld the Sat Purush, the Deity of Sat Lok or Sach Khand, and the first definite manifestation of Naam and Form of the Formless and the Nameless, it realised that He i.e., Sat Purush and the Satguru were not distinct but one and the same, and that it

itself was also of Their very essence. Its search for the Absolute was at last over and it began to merge in Him. As it entered deeper and deeper, being absorbed from Form into the Formless, it passed through Alakh indescribable and Agam inconceivable until it finally lost itself in the Ocean of Bliss and Consciousness that is the Ultimate Reality beyond any name and form, ineffable, immaculate, indescribable, and immeasurable. It is what it was and nothing more could be said of it. The only way left for describing it was through negatives. It was neither light nor darkness, neither sound nor silence. No Shabd could be said to be resounding there, as Shabd had not yet come into manifestation. No description can do justice to Him. The Spirit of God, the power and strength acting in the creation, reveals itself as Light and heavenly Sound and is called the Light of God and the Voice of God by the Saints. This revelation of God-into-expression-Power can be perceived by men inside and so it is possible to get into conscious contact with God. The Saints give Their followers a first-hand experience of the GodPower by making the Light of God visible and the Voice of God audible. In literature, this event is called inauguration into the mysteries of the beyond, baptism or initiation. The conscious connection with the God-Power is not the privilege of certain denominations or of a definite time. It was and always is a free gift of God and it is granted to everybody who truly seeks for it. What counts are solely the sincere efforts of the seeker in order to live according to the original guidelines of the Saints. In every age provision is made to give the bread and water of life to those who hunger and thirst for the Truth; the conscious connection with the God-Power, which reveals itself inwardly as the Light of God and the Voice of God. Question to Kirpal Singh: Is initiation predestined or preordained? Answer by Kirpal Singh Yes, it is predestined and preordained in the frame-work of the Divine Plan that certain souls are to be accepted and initiated by each Master during His ministry and many a time it so happens that those who are ostensibly unworthy are accepted. Spiritual Elixir Part I, Chapter VII: Initiation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974

The Master raises some initiated individuals and shows them the splendour of the fifth realm Sach Khand; most of the initiated are led up to this level. However, as it is described, there is a total of eight realms, and the eighth realm is the aim, that can be reached by everybody in this age, because a higher Power is at work. The word became flesh: a hundred percent or seventy percent or fifty percent each time according to the demand of that time. They, the Saints, were at work to the extent, necessary for that time; the Power, however, is the same. Guru Nanak was asked: Who is your Guru Master? He replied: Shabd Naam, the Light and Sound Principle is my Guru. God-into-expression-Power is called Shabd or Word made flesh as it is written in the Bible. And who can give you the contact with It? You can get it where His Mercy is at work thats all. Question to Kirpal Singh: Is initiation conveyed through an authorised representative of the Master valid for all purposes? Answer by Kirpal Singh: Yes, the instructions of initiation imparted through a duly authorised representative of the Master are valid for all purposes. The testing criterion is to have a first-hand Inner Experience of the Divine Light of God and the audible Life Stream at the time of initiation. These are the two astral forms of the Master-Power and if one gets to them by personal experience of rising above body consciousness, there can be no doubt about its validity and efficacy. Spiritual Elixir Part I, Chapter VII: Initiation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 The human body is the temple of God. He is waiting there for you. That is why I ask you to look within, with a longing in your heart and silence in your soul. God will reveal Himself to you. You will find Him no, see Him. Kirpal Singh

The key-note for Spiritual Progress within is to develop the habit of looking intently into the middle of whatever you see and hearing the Holy Sound Current as coming from the right side, with uninterrupted attention and single-minded devotion. All else will come with the Grace of the Master. Spiritual Elixir Part II, Chapter II: Meditation, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 The mind does not want to allow men to gain knowlege about the soul. Its nature is to seek the amusement and its permanent wavering is hard to get over. [] Attuning oneself to the Sound Current is the only way to calm the mind and practise concentration. Whatever school of thought or movement we belong to is unimportant. One has not to convert to other believes, but can proceed where he is. Man, know thyself Chapter VII: Initiation, by Kirpal Singh,18941974 We have to practise honest self-introspection to see how far we advanced on the Inner Path and gained mastership over mind and senses. We can use the mystic experience of past masters as well as their teachings of their practical life, to see wether we really arised to such extraordinary heights. If not we can humbely approch Someone Who did so and accept His help. Kirpal Singh Kirpal Singh says: It has often been the praxis of the ancient Masters to give experience of the Holy Initiation and competent instructions to a selected circle of disciples who first were confronted with unconceivable hassles as an assay for their earnestness and their faith in the Guru. But in the present age, the Kali Yuga, man is very weak and the Master is all the more affectionate. He generously gives to all, who are thirsty for a gleam of the liberating Truth. How it is today: In the alteration from Kali Yug to Sat Yug dont call me Master, there is only Shabd. My Father is the One. Har Rai the Guru of the ages, Kabir, is my brother! Thats how Kirpal showed it.

Light and Sound are bestowed freely. The worldly nit-pickers disdain this Grace. Their I-ness is rooted in selfishness. The arrow of Love hid me from heaven in the middle of my dishonourable heart. Without my doing forever I bleed. Hail Thee, the Only One! Now this pain of Love is distributed as per the One gives allowance to me. Listen you brothers and sisters, let Him enter! Hes waiting since the beginning on your doorstep. Let the Real Amrit of sorrow, Naam, in your drouthy heart. This sorrow will irrigate your heart like the water from this world brings the Rose of Jericho to its blossom. Admire only the One, the First, retrieve this water of sorrow, Shabd! Hail Thee, Kirpal! The One, the transformer of the ages. Bhai Jamal ***** [] The words of the Master cannot be detached from the Master. It is from the abundance of the heart that the tongue speaks. The Master is embedded in the Word and His words are expressions of what is in Him; that is, Word, Life-Impulse, and Power. How then can the two be separated from each other? His words undoubtedly pierce through the hearts of the aspirants and none other can know the sweet pangs from which they suffer. As longing for the Lord grew keen, words of the Master pierced my heart; the mind alone knows the pangs; who else can know anothers pangs? The more one gives weight to the Masters words, the more he grows in grace. True devotion to the Master consists in acceptance of, and doing, what He commands. Guru Ram Das exhorts us that the thought of the Master should ever be a companion, no matter what we may be doing. The Master is hidden in His words, and His words are in fact the Real Master. Holy is the Word of the Master, and through It one gets the Elixir of Life; for acceptance of His words gives one Immortal Life. Remember ever the Word of the Master, for herein lies Real Devotion and Truth. Act in conformity to the Masters Word; this constitutes contemplation aright. The Word of the Master ever abides with the initiates. No power on earth can snatch it away. Fire cannot burn it nor can water sweep it off. It is indestructible and immortal. It fathers the fatherless and

protects us at every step. It strikes at the root of all doubt and scepticism. Even the angel of death cannot come near it. Contact Ram Naam through the instructions of the Master; this nectar can be enjoyed in the company of Saints; find thy Native Home with the help of the Master; then there will be no more coming and going. One cannot come into the treasure of Naam by the performance of deeds on the plane of the senses. Godman Part X, Chapter I: The Words of the Master, by Kirpal Singh 18941974 _______________ Explanation: 1) Varan Atmak: every name of God, which can be spoken or written.

Epilogue
God will help you to arrive at the place where you will get in contact with the God-into-expression Power.

Ishit Guru
All were permitted to see You in the form of their Guru of the respective time strolling on earth, all this I never had in this life.

Entering this world through Thy hands, born as Thy disciple, carried by Thee. Born as a sinner, I spend the time in the pang of yearning for Thee in Kal Desh. Oh Kirpal! Rescue all! In hardship and distress appears Gobind, yet is unable to be of help for me. Agam1 has no ointment for my sorrow. My Ishit Guru2 Thou were. What a joy to see this! Already once we have been together and yet this time well become One! In order to abate the agony, I distribute it to all Thy children. The pangs for Thee Kirpal should wane, oh what a wonder the case is converse. Thy Word lights up every part in us and Thy voice is the music in our brow. Each one may hear It, destined by Thee. May all become Thy ambassadors! Bhai Jamal *****

[] When the moral depraves, the Divine Grace increases to more opulence to the general benefit of the masses. To grant an Inner firsthand experience perhaps is the only touch-stone to discriminate the wheat from the chaff, the perfect from the imperfect masters of which the world is brimfull. Kirpal Singh [] Once you have been given initiation go to the Master, my talks are there, my tapes are there, go to them. [] After my physical departure I will not stand behind any organisation which will be founded in my name; if, however, this should happen, it will become their own destiny. Kirpal Singh After the initiation by a Competent Master or His authorised representative, the disciple can be sure that he is on his Way back to his True Home Sach Khand.

God alone can give the contact with Light and Sound. Nobody else is in a position to do so. Thus, what I have seen so far and understood from the scriptures is, that Shabd or the Holy Word is the only Guru. Now wayfarers, return Home. Kabir said: In four yugas I have come now to tell you the Truth but you still have doubts in your hearts. Since myraids of years we are connected on our journey as relatives and friends such as father and grandfather, mother and grandmother, brother and uncle or sister and aunt, to the point of animals, plants and minerals. We are not seperated from one another, this is the Unity of all things. We are Light, from the same essence as that of God; God is Light and Love. We should love everyone and we should not have any enemy, because we are all children of God. The essence is always the same, all religions say the same. Rituals have only one purpose: to arouse the desire in us to bear testimony to the Truth by ourselves. It is not necessary to change ones religion, stay where you are, but become real followers of your torch bearers such as: Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, Kabir and Nanak, Jesus Christ, Mohammed etc., by being able to bear witness of the same things as these elevated Souls of Their time. In addition, it is neither necessary nor appropriate, to criticise or even to condemn the represantatives of the various religions and institutions, who interpret the teachings of the respective torch beares according to their own comprehension, because: Do not judge and criticise and condemn others, so that you may not be judged and criticised and condemned yourselves. Each one can only speak from his own level. Many groups refer to Kirpal Singh, however, they only impart theory and bind the people. In particular we ask all of them, who are members of such a group, to put the following question to themselves: Check out by yourself, in piece and quiet of your heart have you received the promised Naam or not? Naam has no bearing on outer sounds, such as ringing of a bell or a deep sound from a brazen bowl or any such like thing, nor does it have any bearing on outer light, such as candle light or spotlight. How can we be sure that we have received the gift of Naam?

Then, when we can hear It deliberately, day and night. Well, not everyone stands on the same stage of development and not everyone has the same level of receptivity to the Almighty, however, there is one criterion how to be saved: Do not believe in the Words of a Master until you can testimony it by yourself. This testimony must be possible at the time of initiation! Kirpal Singh explains it that way: First of all, we should know what initiation means. Initiation is no ceremony, no rite, no ritual, no offering. It is just like a school, in which a lesson is given; and for that lesson, first the Inner Theory is explained, and then an Inner Experience is given. We are all children of God. God is Light, and we are also Light, being of the same essence as that of God. But our Light is enveloped by different coverings physical, astral, causal and super causal. It is just like a lamp that has two, three or four coverings over it; it appears as if there is no light there. But when you shake off one covering, you have some light; when you shake off another one, more light; and, as you shake off all the coverings, you see it is all-light. Similarly, we are Light, children of Light, but we are enveloped by so many coverings. Initiation means to rise up our soul and shake off all the coverings: first, the one of the physical body, which is the Iron Curtain, I would say: to rise the soul above body consciousness physical consciousness and open the Inner Eye to have an experience of Light, and also to open the Inner Ear to hear the Voice of God, or the Music of the Spheres. This is what is actually meant by the word initiation: to be initiated into the beyond. Initiation A talk given by Kirpal Singh, during His second world tour, Miami, 1 January, 1964 A valid initiation is always connected to a confirmable first-hand experience of Truth. This experience may be, according to the personal background, more or less intensive, but it must be given. Furthermore, this experience can not only be repeated deliberately by regular practice on compliance with the commandments given by Kirpal Singh but it can also be developed further. Otherwise, we are, unfortunately, led astray. It does not need months or years in order to attain results. One can attain results rapidly in

days and weeks. That way Kirpal said it in Man, know thyself, and as a matter of course, the same is still valid today. I wish you, dear reader, together with your dear ones a bon voyage. Supplemental Words
Dedication
None should have faith in this scripture, without having a gleam of the Inner Light, a first experience of the Inner Sound without being witness of the own awakening of conciousness. From the first gentle refulgence behind, between the two eyebrows, gentle Sounds from the right side until the golden Light and enshrouding rolling thunder lies the prove of these facts only in the own, ocular experience. Full of thankfulness I look back to the special, Inner Contacts with Kirpal. Only this way I could realise, that here no fictive speculation is involved, but it is our very own existence the entire existence of our soul. So it happened, that I partaked an Inner Vision in the night of the 8 th to the 9th March 2006, wherein the composer of this book showed me, in front of Kirpal, Who was also present and Who gazed benevolently, a book of extraordinary size Thus, the value of this scripture lies not in its outer, but in its Inner Greatness, from which even the following verses I wrote can only give a poor reflection. Thoughts of Ronald Hschel

I Kirpal
I close the eyes, face up to the night and call Your name, until the day arises in me. I close the eyes, feel Your illuminating hand, it lifts the veil, shines through my dark vestment. I close the eyes, look into the darkness, there falls a ray of Your Light into my very face.

II Fiat lux / Let there be Light

I cant explain it to you, my word wants to set limits, but instead of wearing ourselves out, of senselessly rushing out, take this Soul-fire, breaking through the forehead, this little Light, It warms you up prodigiously. I have never sparked It, just always perceived It when Love awakens and poked the fire.

Harken eternal softly sweep, touch siliceous, finest sand; when He found me on the shore a fordable flush has absorbed me. Wild storm blew out the light of day; drowned mendacious stillness; of illusive flaring idyll; which promises us the right way. What helps it, if we hanging at buoys 1; direct the rigid view towards land; hope for salvation, trust blindly. Not until we sink; look in black depths, raise us into Light; we awake from death into life. R. Hschel _______________

Brief Life Sketch of Kirpal Singh

Kirpal Singh was born on 6th February, 1894 in Sayyad Kasran, a part of the Punjab which now belongs to Pakistan. Since His early youth, He has been confronted with nationalism, religious intolerance, and bigotry. After a profound study of the basic scriptures of the Sikhs, Christians, Moslems, Buddhists, Zoroastrians etc., He found that they all witness the same basic truth the birthright of man to attain self-knowledge and God-Knowledge. Out of this Kirpal Singh decided: God first, world next. At the feet of His Master Baba Sawan Singh He experienced practically what is described in the scriptures. He dedicated His whole life to the ideal of Unity: the brotherhood of man under the fatherhood of God. His Master Satguru Baba Sawan Singh appeared within to Kirpal Singh seven years before They both met physically. During this time Kirpal Singh already enjoyed His presence, protection and guidance. In 1939, under the Inner Dictation of His Master He wrote the monumental Spiritual Work of the Gurumat Sidhant and out of gratitude towards His Master He first published it under the name of Baba Sawan Singh. Due to His universal view He could create mutual understanding among the different religions. So Kirpal Singh was invited in 1956 to address a fundamental speech at the general assembly of the UNESCO. His speech was about World Peace in the Atomic Age. During fourteen years He was repeatedly elected President of the World Fellowship of Religions which came into being in 1957. On His three world tours in 1955, 1963 and 1972 He visited major cities of the Western hemisphere, where He met religious leaders, politicians, and personalities of public life. Everywhere He conveyed the importance of self-knowledge and God-Knowledge and emphasised the need of selfless service. His selfless being combined with the Love to develop right understanding and Unity among all humans, to create peace in the world and tolerance among the religions was an inspiration for those who were allowed to meet Him, to change their own life for the cause of the right Path and even today He is a living cynosure for all who hear of Him.

So, let us walk together on the lane of Love. Bhai Jamal The convention of the first World Conference on the Unity of Man, which took place in New Delhi, India from 3rd February until 6th February 1974 was considered by many as the highlight of His mission. This World Conference was for the entire humanity the beginning of Unity of Man consciousness. As a result of the conference, Kirpal Singh was invited by the government of India to address Parliament on 1 st August, 1974. It was the first time that a Spiritual Leader was given that honour. Until His physical departure on 21st of August 1974 more than 150,000 people received the True Holy Initiation by Kirpal Singh, Naam, the Holy Word. The Sanatan, the Way of the Saints, the Sant Mat, is the birthright for all mankind. Even nowadays through the Grace of the One God and the God working through our Master Kirpal Singh everyone can get this contact with Naam. So, whoever believes in the gospel of Unity of Man, may ask for initiation!

The Meaning of the Name Kirpal

The Merciful One, The Power of Mercy of which Guru Nanak said, that It comes down on earth at the end of the Kali Yuga the Iron Age , to take all disciples of the past Masters finally back Home embodied as Kirpal Singh on 6 February, 1894. He was appointed by Hazur Baba Sawan Singh as His Spiritual Successor and left His physical body on 21 th August, 1974 in New Delhi, India. Working since than through His Gurumukhs and Khalsas. The Almighty Kirpal-Power came down on earth to wind up the Kali Yuga. John Donne said: God clothed Himself in the vile mans flesh, that so He might be weak enough to suffer woe. Kirpal insisted that a Gurumukh or Khalsa is Someone, Who is able to give a living contact with the God-into-Expression-Power, the Inner Sound Current, Naam or Word to the sincere seeker after Truth at the time of initiation. Many seekers after Truth meet Him today in meditation and are guided to His Gurumukhs, i.e. the mouthpieces of the Guru disciples Who have achieved such a degree of surrender that the Guru talks through Them , and His Khalsas, i.e. the pure ones, to get this vital contact, to go back to their Eternal Home according to the human birthright. A Khalsa is He, Who has seen the Great Light. Guru Gobind Singh says: The pure Khalsa is One in Whom the Light of God is fully manifested. He further goes on to say: Khalsa is my True Form; I reside in Khalsa, He is the life of my life, and my very prana (vital airs); Khalsa is my valiant friend, Khalsa is my Satguru Pura (fully Competent Master); I have told no untruth. I tell this in the presence of Par Brahm and Guru Nanak.

Today the Khalsa Pure One with perfect, resplendent Light within is authorised to carry on the work of Spiritual Instruction and guidance to seekers after Truth. At the Unity of Man Conference from 3rd February until 6th February, 1974 in New Delhi, India, Kirpal Singh gave this following statement: So what I say to you is nothing new. I would request all of you to spread it, all that you have heard here, wherever you go. Proclaim it from the house-tops that there may be peace and happiness on earth. So I pray to God and you pray with me that He grants us His special Grace and provides for us to have firsthand experience of Reality. The ideal before us is this: That we are all One! Kirpal Singh

The Spiritual Revolution

When Kirpal Singh was asked, who would be His Spiritual Successor, He replied: I wish you all to become ambassadors of Truth. So, if we meet someone who has at least a clean causal body Sadh , we can naturally contact in His presence the Holy Sound Current. The Master-Power never dies. He may leave the body, as anyone else does, but He is more than a mere body. He is an ideal, a living Sound Current or a Life Principle that gives Life and Light to the entire world out of this it is said, that Kirpal Singh guides the souls of the sincere seekers after Truth within and His Gurmukhs and Khalsas are His ambassadors of Truth. After His passing away one may derive benefit from the Satsang conducted by a Gurmukh Who is carrying on the duties of the Guru, and may consult Him in case he has some difficulty. Inspite of the well-known and often-quoted dictum that Bani Shabd or Word is the Guru, implying thereby that there was no need of Gurus thereafter, the Gurus carried on the work of initiating people; and even today the Khalsa Pure One with perfect, resplendent Light within is authorised to carry on the work of Spiritual Instruction and guidance to seekers after Truth. Kirpal Singh said: So springtime is upon us now; there will be more fragrant Saints, I would say now, Who will come up and give us through the Grace of God, a contact with the God-into-Expression-Power. And this is the revolution, the Spiritual Revolution, which is coming up an awakening all around. And further: After my physical departure I will not stand behind any organisation, founded in my name. If so, it will be their own destiny. Bani the Word or Sound Principle is the Guru, and the Guru is Bani personified; the elixir of life emanates from Bani1.

Who ever accepts that, what is said by the Gurbani, may be liberated by the Grace of the Living Master. _______________ Explanation: 1) There is a big difference between Gurbani and Bani. The former refers to the dictums of the Gurus, as they are bequeathed in the Holy Scriptures especially in the Guru Granth Sahib , whereas the latter terms the Eternal Sound Current, which is called Gur-ki-Bani at times and which vibrates in the whole creation. He emanates from God Himself, and God allein may manifest Him. Furthermore, this Bani Naam or Word sounds through all four yugas, ages, and It announces its message of Truth.

Remembrances by Daniela Kiepke

As long as I can remember, the certainty has been firmly rooted in me that there exists a higher Power which is the origin and concurrently the essence of all creation and non-creation. When I was a child I lived in this certainty as a matter of course, however, in my youth a yearning began to grow in me. I wanted to explore what this force is and how it can be recognised. I felt that all my actions would be pointless, if I did not recognise the principle that stands behind everything. Then, one evening in summer I was about to learn for school I looked out of the window. Outside, thousands of mayflies were buzzing around enjoying their physical existence. How short but it was! Right in this moment I became aware of something and I was deeply terrified of it: If a man will not recognise the deeper sense of his being and will neither live it isnt it just exactly the same with him? Otherwise, he is just born, he lives and is woven into his fate, at his own discretion as good as he can, only in order to die again in the end1. Three years had passed after this realisation when I made one night a far-reaching experience. At that time I was not able yet to classify it properly. But one thing I was fully aware of even then: it was not a dream, but something real. Amidst bright red mountains that were covered in the incredibly red-glowing light of the setting sun, an oversized Man appeared to me, sitting cross-legged, looking at me in infinite Love and reached out His hand to me. He said: Come! without saying the word and such a feeling of happiness came over me that I had never felt before. Without a second of hesitation I packed my bag within, because my flight was supposed to go in half an hour and I had ten minutes left. When I asked whether I was allowed to take someone being very close to me, I was told that there was no time for this2. Thus, I started my Inner Journey. When I awoke in the next morning, I was enthralled to the core by the bliss that flowed through me at night. Just as it was indescribable, it was inexplicable to me. But I knew that if the Inner Man is ready, God will appear to him because the Almighty is searching for the one who calls out for Him. At that time I did not know that similar experiences are made a hundred times, yes even a thousand times by other people as well.

Much to my regret I did neither know who had appeared to me, nor did I know His name, but it was intuitively obvious to me that it was somehow related to India. Still in this assumption, believing I could find my Master in the outer appearance I went to the Institute for Indology at Leipzig University. There I described the mountain from my vision to a professor, hoping that she, who had travelled throughout India, could tell me where this place was located. Unfortunately, she did not know such mountains and lent me books about all kinds of wise men and seers of India 3. But in none of the books illustrations I recognised my Master. So I imagined studying in India and thus having the opportunity to seek Him. I had no doubt that I would somehow find Him. I organised a visa to India and only needed a suitable university in order to begin my intended studies in India. During my research I was recommended to ask an alternative practitioner in Leipzig for advice who had lived many years in India herself and had been there for charity work. In this way, I met her. During a second visit I discussed several things with her husband; we talked about Spirituality and what it is over glass of Indian chai tea in a private setting. When I had a look across the room, I was suddenly caught by a photo hanging on the wall which showed Kirpal Singh without turban and which depicted Him exactly as He had appeared to me in the vision weeks before. On that day I learned that my beloved Father was all Kirpal and I found His influence continued, though He was no longer physically alive. As I learned later, Kirpal Himself had said that photos are useful for remembrance and recognition and on that day I was allowed to remember4. Now I no longer had to keep searching for Kirpal outside, I received the assurance to find Him within myself. The journey of the soul actually takes place inside. The question which everyone has to ask is what to want from life. Even if one learns about the Truth it is a conscious decision that must be made, just as you have to get on the train if you want to make the trip. Anyone can go to the Master. However, this will not lead to the solution, if you do not practise the Shabd. Adi Granth Kirpal is my travel companion and also my goal, because there is no difference between the Power, known as Kirpal and the Almighty Himself. I choose the Almighty and everything I thought I knew about the structure of world and life, collapsed like a house of cards, it was like a thick veil that fell off of me. The gift that Kirpal has made me at

my initiation was the Inner Light and Inner Sound or Shabd or the Word. The longer and the more intensely I listen to the Sound Current, the more It intoxicates me, lets me forget time and space and draws the soul to the eye-focus, and from there to the top of the body to the inside to enter areas and to wander in the company of the MasterPower. Kirpal once described the Sound Current as a sweet elixir and actually It is, when you practically surrender yourself to these Inner Sounds. Words let only imagine what they aim to describe, unless you have the practical experience. From my own experience I can confirm gratefully that the different Lights, such as yellow, among other things, white or gold, are visible Inside, as well as the Inner Sounds like the bell or the flute which can be heard from the right side and lead the Soul upwards to go Home. There is no difference between people in this respect. A part of my family belongs to the Catholic Church. When I went as a child to church with my grandmother on Sundays, I could see a common ground of the people there: They remembered that there was a higher Power. However, no one had direct contact with this Power, for a variety of reasons, be it that the desire for it did not flare up in the heart, confidence was laid in the promises after death or rituals have been accepted as a substitute. Today I know that the True Freedom of man begins, when there is nothing between him and the Almighty. This freedom can only be achieved through the practice of the Holy Word Light and Sound, the birthright of every human being. D. Kiepke _______________ Explanation: 1) Years later, after I had received initiation, Kirpal showed me that the whole creation is a procession of God, which could also be described as True Evolution; since after the Soul of the people had fallen to lower forms such as plant or animal world because of her misconduct in the beginning, the development of every living being is taking steps back to human being. And the development of the people back to God. Therein lies the blessing and the chance of our human existence. 2) Later, Kirpal showed me that each one has to go alone, that God wants only the Soul alone, without body, without mind, intellect and ego, no family, no friends, no possessions, only the Soul alone, and that there even is no time to turn around or to stay. 3) As I should realise later after my initiation, the fiery red mountains of my vision were part of the Inner Realms, which the Soul has to pass through. 4) In retrospect, I furthermore

remembered that, after my first meeting at the premises of that medical practitioner, I jumped along the street for joy without knowing to explain to me in the least the reasons for this. Later, I read again in Kirpals scriptures, as He said analogously, that if we knew how much He loved us, we would be leaping for joy as the children.

Small Contribution by Amrit Mitterer

I would like to express my gratitude because I have the facility in this life to hear Shabd and also being allowed to live on vegetarian food. The following hymn, which was composed by Swami Ji, is my favourite hymn. It states from Shabd, that resounds in all of us. Shabd the Word is allways with us, it is a lamp unto the feet and the Water of Life. Since early childhood I listen to Shabd. Like supplying my body regulary with food, likewise is Shabd foot for my soul. I can only wish it to all, but it is destined. Man himself should put effort in it, not to loose his human birth because of physical attachments. He, who listens to the Shabd, has no enemy. Christ said: Love your enemy. Who says, that he loves God, but hates his neighbours, is telling the untruth. Because God is in everyone of us, also in our neighbours and in the animals. A. Mitterer

The Shabd
Wondrous indeed is the power of the Shabd. How can I describe the Glory of Shabd? Those who have tasted the sweetness of Shabd, they alone know the greatness of Shabd. Every moment I feel the protecting power of the Shabd, how may I describe the grandeur of the Shabd? Without the Shabd, one wanders in ignorance, and knows not the value of the Shabd. They who solved the mystery of the Shabd, who have intense Love for the Shabd. And who practise Shabd in right earnest, such indeed are the truly blessed. None can control the mind without the Shabd, attune ye therefore to the Shabd. In vain goes the human birth, if one gets not the treasure of Shabd. In the depths of the soul resounds the Shabd; why does thou not listen to the strains of Shabd? Sit in solitude and silence thy mind, then alone shalt thou have the Shabd revealed. Cast aside torpor, languor and lassitude, and ever remain in touch with the Shabd.

The five-sounded Shabd is resounding within; learn ye to listen to the Shabd. The Master gives the knowledge of the Shabd; meditate ye on the Shabd. I have discoursed much on the Shabd, yet alas, none cares to follow the Shabd. In vain do they forfeit the human life, who catch not the life-line of Shabd. I, for one, now end this discourse on the Shabd. None but the destined get to the Shabd. Swami Ji

About Swami Ji
Shiv Dayal Singh was a Great Saint from Agra, mostly known as Swami Ji Maharaj. He was the Guru of Baba Jaimal Singh from Beas. He revived the teachings of Kabir Sahib and Guru Nanak Sahib and explained them to the common folk in a very simple language. The Guru of Swami Ji Maharaj (Shiv Dayal Singh) was Tulsi Sahib (1763 1843) from Hathras, Who gave the Spiritual Mantle over to Him. Tulsi Sahib was disciple and Spiritual Successor of Ratnagar Rao, the Spiritual Successor of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru, and He wrote the Ghat Ramayana. Originally, Tulsi Sahib was called Sham Rao Peshwa, He was the elder brother of Baji Rao Peshwa; He abandoned His throne for Spirituality and settled down in Hathras. He should not be confused with Tulsi Das, Who was a former Saint (16th century) and Who wrote the Ram Charitra Mansa or Hindi Ramayana. According to available sources, Swami Jis parents were disciples of Tulsi Sahib. They often visited Him in Hathras, thirty miles away, for having His darshan and whenever He came to Agra, they listened to His talks. It was the Saint from Hathras Who named their sons: Shiv Dayal Singh, Brindaban and Partap Singh.

Epilogue to this book by Markus Zimmermann

Dear Reader With this book you received something extraordinary: a compacted theoretical insight into the real structure of creation and the Final Goal of human existence, underpinned by the accounts of experiences of several people. What youve read might be an incentive for wanting an experience of all this for yourself as well. I still remember how it was when I had read The Souls Journey for the first time. At that time I practised yoga, I lived with Yoga Vidya 1 in a seminar house, working there as a yoga teacher. Previously I had already concerned myself with esotericism and various corresponding practices. All this was not really satisfying in the length of time. After reading the present article, I was shocked and knew: I would find no rest until I will get to the bottom of the matter, until I find out if the written text is really true. So I came in contact with disciples of Kirpal through the website www.santmat-thetruth.de. I read the book The Crown of Life by Kirpal Singh, and was allowed to understand that everything I had practised so far, was not the one original Truth and therefore could not lead to the Final Goal. And, by the Grace of the Almighty, without any own merit, it happened, that I actually came in contact with Shabd, the God-into-

Expression Power, as It is described in this book. And I realised: Nothing of what I thought to know, nothing of what I had practised and experienced so far, is even remotely comparable with the gift of Naam. With gratitude I remember experiences already granted to me: So I experienced, while listening to Kirpals voice, this and the Sound Current as one2. Or surprisingly risen above body-consciousness at a place appearing to me unusual I understood that there are no inappropriate circumstances for the Master-Power. Even if the body is at rest, Kirpal can rise us; I have experienced this too. It is really all a gift that is given to us by Him to the extent that we are receptive. For this is indeed the outstanding of our time: that it is now possible by the Grace of the Almighty Power to obtain initiation and Kirpals Inner Guidance immediately without someone in the outside taking the formal role of the Master. So many humans toil themselves since incarnations in the wrong way, wanting to follow someone else, which is tricky, because: It is a law that if you have a certain idea of how a master has to be, someone has to appear who fulfils all these criteria, which can be completely wrong. In that way many souls are already gone astray. This is the reason why the Almighty Himself comes at the end of a cycle to give us the opportunity to be connected directly to Him. The blessing is pouring out now directly from above, and when initiates live in the right way and are sufficiently receptive, the spark of Spirituality can skip through them. But the disciples, through whom that happens, never would claim, that they are involved in that. It is like once with Guru Gobind Singh, Who first did not want to incarnate Himself; then He came only because He was sent. Casting off the duality, I had become One with the Lord. Never did I like to come down again into the world, but it was at His bidding that I had to yield, and I came to fulfil His purpose. The Almighty said (analogously) to Him: Many who I have sent proclaimed themselves. Go thou and proclaim me! Then Guru Gobind Singh said: I only came to witness the play of God. Who calls me God goes to hell! So thanks to the Mercy of Kirpal many people have already received the connection at Satsang in this way, and many have been allowed

to meet Him inside. And even the Great Last Goal of the journey described in this book souls have achieved consciously during life in our time. All this, however, happens only by His Grace. And we who we experience such a miracle wondering, can add nothing, just humbly acknowledge His Greatness. May the Almighty bless you! M. Zimmermann _______________ Explanation: 1) A yoga school oriented to exercise yoga practices and rituals, whose founder and leader appeals to Swami Sivananda, who lived for a long time in Rishikesh, but whose teachings were also spread in the West by his students. Kirpal Himself reported of a meeting with Swami Sivananda in Rishikesh during a visit and noted in this connection: In Rishikesh, I met everyone. They were all intellectual wrestler, debating clubs, all practised this elementary step: how to recite prayers, how to perform certain rites and rituals. And most of practised hatha yoga. Out of respect, of course, it is said that it keeps the body fit, thats okay. Only one old yogi called Raguvacharya and who was a later disciple of Kirpal was able to rise above body-consciousness and to reach the first Inner Plane, Sahasdal Kanwal. 2) This happened to me while listening to a tape recording of a Satsang held by Kirpal. Later, I was reminded of this incident in connection with the following statement: The Word comes from the mouth of God. Supplement: Kirpal once said on this subject analogously: If I had the voice of my Master on a tape, I would sacrifice the three worlds for that. The summary is: We are very fortunate today that we have recordings of His voice!

One should take Advantage of the Opportunity

The well-known philosopher Confucius searched for Truth for a very long time; however, he did not find anybody who could be of help to give him initiation. Consequently, he turned explicitly towards the subject of ethics. The famous Indian Poet and Nobelist Rabindranath Tagore said: Oh God, I know, that You are, but I can not overcome the filth of this body to come up and see You. Even these souls who are uphold in this world, could not receive the unchangeable Truth Naam.

Because: There is nothing, that someone could do in order to be worth it. Nevertheless, the Way especially nowadays is open to every sincere seeker after Truth. Now it is the golden opportunity. Who knows, when it will come again? Whoever wants to go Home, should make use of it.

Everyone has to strive for himself

Many times, Kirpal Singh referred to the following: When you sing acknowledgements over that, what another one has seen, then one can, pardon me, compare this undertaking to the attempt of picking breadcrumps from another ones empty plate. Deserve something by yourself. Do not carry the picture of another ones Beloved in your heart. Do you want to hurt him? Have your own Beloved, and go back to God yourself. When you drink of the nectar of life to the fullest, also those around you will be intoxicated by that. All people are welcome in Satsang, also those disciples who have been initiated by Kirpal Singh during His earthly sojourn, receive the blessing on the ground.

All present seekers after Truth should only pay regard to the practice and experience of Naam.

Appendix
Important Explanations to the Inner Sounds
In that book it is often spoken of Shabd or the Sound Current. For a better understanding of the effect and meaning of the Inner Sounds some explaining words are needed. The Sound Current Naam or Word, Shabd as It is described in this scripture is first basically audible always from the right side. In further state when some Spiritual Progress has been made, you can listen to It as coming from above. Out of a good fortune some people are allowed to listen to the Sound from the right side you can experience the Sound often even more intensly at night. Unfortunately, mostly they do not know what this experience of the Soul means and probably even believe they were ill. Kirpal said correspondingly:

Some people hear something and out of ignorance they go to an otologist. If those people really accepted the Sound coming from the right and listened to It, they would realise, after some time, that It is getting louder and clearer and has a raising effect. Nevertheless, eventually also these people need if they want to progress the Holy Initiation because without It no Inner Progress can be achieved. Only through initiation one can progress starting at the point which one had reached during his past life. But there are also sounds coming from the left side. These are always negative. Especially persons who take drugs, who are in psychiatry or follow criminal addictions often report that they can not only hear the sound from the left side but they even listen to it consciously. Those who practise yoga as well as people who perform religious or occult rites and practices can report of it, too. Sounds that come from the left side, when listened to they lead to the result that lower addictions in man get stronger. Sawan Singh tells that in the moment when a man ceases to listen to the Sound Current coming from the right or from above consciously, he automatically ends in the mind. A more detailed illustration of this important theme you can find in the following text.

Sound differentiated
There are many kinds of sounds echoing and re-echoing in the various regions of the creation and may, for convenience, be classified into two categories:
1. Sounds proceeding from the left side. These are negative and material sounds and are connected with the respective ingrained seeds of inner passions. The devotee is willy-nilly attracted by these sounds. If one is fascinated by any one of these siren-songs on the left, one may find oneself hurled down into the deepest depths of the abysmal chasms of the passion to which the particular sound relates, for such sounds have a pull that is outward and downward. In such a sad predicament, the labour of years becomes of no avail and odds go against the pilgrim-soul. These are, therefore, to be avoided scrupulously, for they lead one astray from the Spiritual Path. 2. Next there are Sounds that proceed from the right side. These are Sounds from the Spiritual Planes and as such are positive in character and purely spiritual with a characteristic pull that is Inward and upward.

These two kinds of sounds are so very similar and so closely resemble each other that one can hardly distinguish between them. Maulana Rumi, therefore, warns us to be careful in differentiating the right type of sounds. He says: There are sounds of a lower nature which very much resemble those of the higher, yet they have a downward pull and drag one to ones doom. The particular Sounds that have an upward pull are five in number, as stated by the various Saints and may be apprehended through Their Grace and contacted in Their company. Such Sounds carry with them the effect of the Spiritual Planes from which They proceed and in turn produce the same effect on him who comes in contact with Them. They have their own heavenly melodies, the rapturous strains of which depersonalises the soul by freeing it from the chains of mundane life. Whoever comes near the fire, gets warmth, no matter whether he does so of his own accord or not. So the Holy Naam or the Divine Song, cannot but influence you when you come in contact with It, whether you will it or not and are in time or out of time. The Power of God cannot but influence you, should you get in touch with It. The outer music has a marvellous effect on all living beings. It shakes of the grievous burden of the oppressive sorrow and unrest under which one incessantly groans and drives away all thoughts. It washes away the dirt of everyday life by its melodious tunes and captivates the soul. It withdraws the mind from the tumultuous hubbub of the objective world. It concentrates the mind, naturally, without having recourse to any fabricated methods. Music, indeed, has ever been the art of Saints. What passion cannot music raise or quell.
John Dryden

How marvellous is the effect of the external music! What then will be the charm of the internal Divine Melody? It has its own inimitable fascination. It is exuberant with the Spiritual Vitality which takes man above all the pains and ills to which the flesh is heir. In times of storm and stress, one may harmonise ones self with the Internal Tunes and pass off unscathed from the pinching effects of worldly life. These Spiritual Sounds are aids on the Spiritual Path. A Competent Master, at the time of initiation, gives full instructions on how to differentiate between Them from plane to plane, as well as how to catch hold of Them on the onward march to the Highest Spiritual

Realm. Herein then lies the need for a Master-Soul, for He is the inspirer of Hari Naam the Divine Word, in the depths of ones soul. Without Him, the Eternal Song ever remains a shrouded mystery with no access thereto. As Music Personified, it is within His competence to manifest It, make It audible and thus lead one to the seat of the Almighty. A Gurumukh (Saint) can free millions of souls by the quickening influence of His Life-Impulse (the Holy Naam).

Chart of the Plexuses or Chakras

Wherever several nerves, arteries or veins interlace each other, that point or center is called a plexus. Similarly, there are plexus or centres of vital forces in the Suksham or subtle nadis and these are called chakras or padmas. The nadis are the astral tubes made up of astral matter, and serve as passages for subtle pranas through which they operate in the subtle body as do the nerves, arteries and veins in the gross physical body.

The Crown of Life Part I, Chapter II, 2., IV:Plexuses or Chakras, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 Yogis, for instance, try to work up their way through the five body chakras below the eyes, step by step, in order to reach the eye centre sometime this is a very tedious and dangerous process and all Masters dissuade from it. The Masters say: When standing on the midst of a mountains elevation, that one wants to crest, what sense does it make, to go back to the valley in order to start with the ascent? Would it not be better to start from where one already is? Therefore, those initiated into the Surat Shabd Yoga start at the point behind and between the eyes the seat of the soul right from the start. On the following pages, there is a chart of the Chakras with their various aspects, as they are presented in The Crown of Life.

A little Essay for those who practise Yoga

Excerpts from the book The Crown of Life, by Kirpal Singh, 18941974 The mind, by sheer force of habit extending over ages upon ages, has acquired a tendency to run after pleasures. The pleasures of the world may be categorised into five classes as follows: a. Rup and rang or beautiful forms, designs, and colours which may attract the eye. b. Shabd or melodies, tuneful and enchanting, as may capture the ear. c. Ras or delectable victuals and viands as may captivate the palate. d. Gandh or fragrant scents as may directly appeal to the olfactory sense. e. Sparsh or physically pleasing sensations as come from touch. In walking state with the senses alert, one enjoys the physical aspects of the pleasure as enumerated above. In a dream state, which is more or less a reflex of the astral or subtle, one enjoys sound the most, for in that state it has a direct appeal to the mind. In the dreamless and deep sleep state, which is a reflex of the causal or seed state, one gets cognition of deep absorption. One has, therefore, to draw himself within to the heart centre by means of tratak on different elemental colours connected with ether, air, fire, water and earth, and they will grow in enchanting refulgence. By regular practice, the yogins acquire supernatural powers and capacities to taste all five pleasures mentioned above in their subtle form from a far distance. These powers come naturally with the coincidences of pranas with the mind. The practice of pratyahara and dharna can be still further developed with the help of tratak, until one can move and recede inwards and upwards from the heart centre to the thyroid or throat centre, kanth chakra, and thereby contact the cognitive plane. This movement from a lower centre to a higher one results from the practice both of pratyahara, which enables one to leave the centre below, and of dharna, whereby one takes hold of and gets absorbed in the next higher centre. This process continues until one reaches aggya chakra, which is located behind and between the two eyebrows, the headquarters of the soul as it functions in the physical world in the waking state.

As the sensory currents collect together and gather at this centre, and one, forgetting about himself, rises above body-consciousness, there dawns in him by degrees, the Inner Spiritual Light, which with great absorption or dharna grows into greater effulgence. With perfection in dharna or complete absorption at this stage, all the centres down to the mul or guda chakra at the rectum, become illumined. In this connection, we may here refer to the physiology of the yoga system. The cerebro-spinal system in the mainstay of the body. The spinal column in yogic terminology is called Meru or Brahm Danda. According to the Shiva Samhita, there are in the human system as many as 350,000 nadis, and out of these, the following ten play an important part:
1. Ida starting from the lowest plexus, guda chakra, on the right side of spinal column, it extends spiral around the sushmana and goes as far as the left nostril. 2. Pingala starting from the same chakra on the left side of the spinal column, it extends spirally as far as the right nostril. 3. Sushmana or Sukhmana is the central nadi in between the ida and pingalal nadis and runs through the spinal column from the guda chakra to the Great Aperture, known as Brahmarendra, behind and between the eyebrows. 4. Gandhari comes to the left eye, after rising from the front of the central nadi. 5. Hastijivha comes to the right eye, after rising from the rear of the central nadi. 6. Pushpa comes to the right ear from the central nadi. 7. Yashvini comes to the left ear from the central nadi. 8. Alambhush stretches to the root of the arms. 9. Kuhu or Shubha it goes down to the tip of the generative organ. 10.Shankhni It goes down to the rectum.

The first three, the ida, pingala and sushmana nadis, are the most important. The ida and pingala nadis, before entering into the base of the nostrils, cross each other and are known as gangliated cords. The third one, the sushmana or sukhmana, or the central nadi, passes through the spinal column and runs through six plexuses or centres as follows:

a. Muladhara, Basal Plexus with a four-petalled lotus, extending on four sides. b. Svadhishtana, Hypogastric Plexus with a six-petalled lotus, extending on four sides plus one below and the other above. c. Manipuraka, Solar Plexus with an eight-petalled lotus, having four additional sides in between the original four sides. d. Anahata, Cardiac Plexus with a twelve-petalled lotus. It is a lotus of the Unstruck Sound as the name denotes. e. Vishuddha, Phryngeal Plexus with a sixteen-petalled lotus, being an all-pervasive ethereal lotus. It is a center of great purity as the name indicates. f. Aggya, Cavernous Plexus with a two-petalled lotus, also called Ajna Chakra, meaning the centre of command. Besides the above plexuses, there is the Antahkaran consisting of chit, manas, budhi and ahankar , with a lotus of four petals, thus making in all fifty-two petals, corresponding to the fifty-two letters of the alphabet in Sanskrit, the mother of all languages. We have, however, to rise above all Akshras to a state beyond called Neh-akhshra para, which is eternal and every-abiding and of which Kabir says: The three lokas and the fifty-two letters are one and all subject to decay, but the Eternal and the Everlasting Holy Word is quite distinct from them. Kabir Each of the two plexuses together make a granthi or a tie and these are: Brahma Granthi, Vishnu Granthi and Shiva Granthi. The path of the yogins as described above is concerned with meditation at these six centers, beginning from the lowest and gradually rising from one to the next higher by means of pratyahara and dharna as already explained. In this process, one also calls to his aid the kundalini shakti, or the great serpentine power lying dormant in three and a half folds in the vagus nerve, in a coiled state like a serpent. This latent energy or power is awakened with the help of pranayam. A yogin tries to collect together all the vital airs in the body at the centre of the naval plexus and in this process awakens the latent power as well. From the Ajna Chakra he takes hold of the anahat sound and reaches Sahasrar, the highest heaven of the yogins. It is quite a long, tedious, and difficult path.

At each of the centres, one has to work hard for years before one can successfully subdue and pierce through it and ascend to the next higher center. One cannot take to this arduous discipline without a strong and robust physique, capable of withstanding a sustained a strenuous effort for a long time. As a preliminary step, a yogin has to cleanse the Augean stables with herculean strength and for this, recourse is to be had to hatha yoga kriyas, or exercises like dhoti, basti, neoli, gaj karam and vajroli, etc., with a strict diet control. Again, for the control of the mind, he has to take to pranayam or well-regulated breathing exercise such as puraka, kumbhaka, rechaka and sunyaka, all of which requires great care, attention and skill, under the guidance of an adept. The yoga process, as described above, is fraught with innumerable difficulties. It is a process akin to that of controlled death, a forcible extraction not only of the spirit current from one centre to the other, but of the pranas as well, which makes it all the more difficult. It actually follows the process of dying, being the reversal of the life current as it descends from centre to centre, in the process of creation. In the death process, the earth element rises up from guda chakra to the indri chakra and gets dissolved in the water there, thus rendering hands and feet lifeless. When the water elements rises up to the nabhi chakra, it is transformed into a vaporous state by the fire at the naval region and the generative organ gets paralysed; next the fire element itself gets extinguished in the air element at the heart plexus, rendering the region below the heart stark cold. When the air element gets etherialised at the kanth, the seat of the ether, it renders the heart and the pulse motionless.1 Even in the practice of the Sehaj yogic system, one has to traverse and to follow through exactly the same process, except that the second method is natural, while the first method is deliberate and controlled and therefore extremely difficult to perform. Each of the tatvas in turn gets merged in its source; the anna in the pranas, the pranas in the manas, the manas in the vigyan and the vigyan in the kanth plexus.2 Instead of this difficult reverse process of yoga from the basic plexus backward and upward to Sahasrar, the region of the thousandpetalled lights, how much easier it would be to ignore the pranas as we do in our everyday life , collect the sensory current at the seat of the soul at the ajna chakra, where we always are in our awakened state, and move upward straightaway with the help of the Sound Current to which the yogins gain access after a hard-won battle over the six ganglionic centres in the pind or body to reach Sahasrar. The Sound Current has a magnetic pull, too difficult to resist, when the soul rises above body consciousness under the guidance of some able

and fully Competent Living Master, capable of awakening the LifeImpulse within us. Part I, Chapter II, 2., VI: Dharna as a form of Yoga (Mansik Yoga) Dhyan or meditation is of two kinds: gross and subtle. It is well-nigh impossible to take to subtle meditation all at once. One has therefore to start with gross meditation in the first instance, before taking to the practice of subtle meditation. The gross or objective meditation consists in meditating on the personal aspect of God, Isht, a Godman or a Guru the Living MasterSaint. In the subtle meditation, the attention is fixed on the bindu or the Single Eye, the still point in the body behind and between the two eyebrows. It is the intersection of time and the timeless where the Unmanifest becomes manifest. Its reflex is in the pind or the lower region of the body, i.e., the guda chakra, where lies the coiled energy in a locked up condition. After some practice at the bindu, the dark spot becomes illuminated and gradually the Inner Light assumes the Radiant Form of the Master. From here begins what is termed the luminous contemplation. When in meditation, the Godman appears within, one sees the secret of Eternity like an open book. Maulana Rumi While in gross contemplation one meditates on the perceptible form, swarup, of the Ishtdeva or of the Guru, in subtle contemplation one meditates on the arup formless , or the dark point of concentration between the eyebrows, which gradually flowers into radiance. Here we may sound a note of warning to the seekers after Truth. We cannot have any appreciable results by meditation on the forms of the past Masters Who, having discharged Their Divine Mission on earth of contacting Jivas or souls in Their own time, are no longer in touch with the physical world. Again, we have to be our guard in our search for a Perfect Master, for any meditation on the form of an imperfect master will not bear fruit. To avoid all pitfalls, it is much safer to put aside meditation on any form whatsoever, whether of a past or a Living Master. It is better that one should carry on the sadhna according to the instructions given, and if the Master is a Perfect One, His Radiant Form will of itself appear within and take charge of the individual soul as soon as it rises above body consciousness. God Himself manifests within in the form of a Guru Dev provided of course that the Guru is

really embedded in God-Power. These remarks apply mutatis mutandis to meditation on Ishtdevas as is generally done. To meditate on the Formless is beyond human conception, in as much as one cannot conceive of the Reality beyond all comprehension. One may in such a case get glimpses of subtle elements, which by themselves cannot lead us anywhere. The reading of Scriptures and other Sacred Books is not of much avail on this Path except in arousing ones interest. The greatest teacher of mankind is man. It is enough if one knows how to open the pages of the great living book of the human heart heart here signifies the seat of the soul, i.e., aggya or ajna chakra , which is the only inexhaustible treasurehouse of all knowledge and all wisdom. One has simply to close his eyes, withdraw the senses, enter into the sanctuary of his heart and merge his very being into the Supreme Soul in the innermost depths within. He, the Ever-Existent, the Self-Luminous Light, complete in Himself, and eternally the same, dwells in the temple of the human body, and he who wishes to know Him and to reach Him shall have to delve deep within himself, and everything will undoubtedly be revealed to him. Knock and it shall be opened, is the saying of sages and seers in all times and in all climes. This dip within gives the soul an integral experience of all that exists, whether visible or invisible, a direct intuitive knowledge and Divine Wisdom, all of which are the gift that come of themselves, freely and in abundance, if one forgets the world, forgets his friends and relations, forgets his surroundings, nay forgets his very bodily being. Voluntary forgetfulness is the greatest Spiritual Sadhna. Forgetting all else one must rise above body consciousness, for this is the primary condition of right meditation. Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. St Mark 12:30 By deep and silent meditation, one must merge his very being in the sweet contemplation of the Beloved within and lose himself in the Great Soul of the Universe. This is the highest contemplation, and it leads to the most coveted goal of samadhi.

Part I, Chapter II, 2., VII: Dhyan Again, the highest heaven of the yogins is Sahasrar, the region of the thousand-petalled lights, and that of the Yogiswars is Trikuti, the headquarters of the Brahmand, the origin or the egg of Brahman itself. Most of the prophets of the world descend from this region, which is a half-way house between the physical and the purely Spiritual Realms, and at times refer to the beyond as Par Brahm only. The Path of the Saints and the Masters, however, goes beyond these, for They speak definitely of Sat Lok, the abode of the True One, the realm of pure spirit, and of regions even beyond thereto: Alakh, Agam and Anaami. Part I, Chapter III, VIII: Yoga of Mysticism Liberation cannot be achieved except by the perception of the identity of the individual spirit with the Universal spirit. It can be achieved neither by yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by the practice of religious ceremonies, nor by mere learning. Shankaracharya Part I, Chapter III, X: Yoga and the outer Sciences _______________ Explanation: 1) It may be pointed out that under this system, heart failure does not mark the end of life but only precedes it. 2) It may be mentioned that the Vaishnavites and Kabir Panthies wear tulsi leaves and the Shaivites wear shiv-ling around the neck, to remind themselves of the kantha chakra which they set up as their goal.

Positive Power Negative Power Television Interview with Kirpal Singh

Mexico-City, 11 December 1972 Question by the television commentator: Master (Kirpal), we would like to ask You if You are in accordance with the opinion of Pope Paul? Answer by Kirpal Singh: What is his opinion? Question by the television commentator: That the devil is the cause of all the ills and badness in the world. Answer by Kirpal Singh:

The truth remains that God made the universe. There are two aspects: one is going into expression, the other is receding back. The word Brahm is used to mean the Power going into expression, which is the cause of all expression in the universe. This is called negative. The other Power is positive, which brings back Souls to God. These are two powers made by God just as electricity somewhere burns fire and somewhere congeals water into ice. The Power is the same, but It has two expressions: one going into expression, the other receding back. Had there been no power going into expression called Brahm, there would have been no world whatsoever. That Brahm has the law, As you sow, so shall you reap. That Brahm-Power is very just. Naturally, the incarnations of Brahm, when they come into the world, their job is just to punish the wicked, uphold the righteous, and set the world going. This matter is very intricate, I tell you. Further, I will just give an example: the King is the appointing authority of the Commander-in-Chief; he is also the appointing authority of the Viceroy. The two work for the sake of the King; it is the King who has given them power. But their work is different. When a city is in trouble, the civil officers hand it over to the military. What do they do? They punish the wicked, fire and kill some, save hundreds of the righteous. When it is in order, they hand it back to the civil. The television commentator tries to move on to the next question. Answer by Kirpal Singh: This is not the end-all. There are some things further to be explained, a few words more, if you want full; if you want half a reply, it is up to you. This will go to the world population, you see. Now we are responsible. The Commander-in-Chief knows fully well that he has been given power by the King by which he destroys, he kills, etc., etc., but still he never says, 'I convey to you the orders of the King.' It is the incarnations of the Positive Power who say like that; They are the Saints. Those who come like the Commander-in-Chief, they say, 'I order fire!' Different expressions, but both at heart know that they have got this power from God. This is done only so that the Word can go into expression; otherwise there would be no world. So our own actions and reactions bring on these things all the troubles, killings, this and that. As the incarnations of the Positive Power, the Saints look after the souls and take them back to God.

The world never ends. It goes on changing from Kali Yuga or Iron Age to Golden Age. The Negative Power goes on punishing, to set the world right and let it keep going not to depopulate, but so that it can continue to go on. And the Positive works to take our souls back to God. They work for the good of the righteous people. Mind is the Negative Power working within each man. Its work is always to keep you away from God to keep you awake in the world. So naturally punishment is there; killing is there; wars are there; sometimes plagues are there. These are functions of the Negative Power and come first; then the righteous people will come up. The Golden Age arises from the Iron Age it wont fall down from Heaven all at once. So awakening is there, east and west both. People are fed up with all these things and they want the way out; the other way is what is wanted. The Negative Power is very equal: he does not spare the incarnations of the Negative Power even. He is also punishing the Negative. For instance: Rama killed the brother of Ravana. Then Rama came in an incarnation as Lord Krishna. Then that man who had been killed came as a dacoit in the wilderness and killed Krishna. He came to Krishna and said, 'Well, I have done wrong.' But he said, 'No, no, I killed you.' So he does not spare even the incarnations, you see. The day of judgment is individual and also as a whole, as a class. [] Question by the television commentator: What is the meaning of 'Science of the Soul?' Answer by Kirpal Singh: The Science of the Soul is Gods work. We are souls under the control of the Negative Power. So incarnations of the Positive Power come to save them and bring them back to God. The other day in my talk I said that there should be no revolution of the body not the body but of the evil propensities of the mind that which takes man away from God. There should be a Spiritual Revolution, and that is going on. I replied to this question in my talk day before yesterday everybody is now getting such an experience openly, to save, at large. Awakening is going on all around, in the east and west. That means the Golden Age is arising from the Iron Age, and the Science of the Soul is for that. All right; thank you for your cooperation. The real life is going on, with Gods Grace Well, it is those who are wicked are punished; it is a probation, you see. I told you in my talk the other day that a Spiritual Revolution is going on now. The righteous will find that this is not the revolution of the body, but of the evil propensities of the mind. Mind

is the slave of the Negative Power. Had there been no Negative Power, there would have been no world whatsoever.
