SCOPE
This specification covers boiled linseed oil-petroleum spirits mixture to be applied to hardened portland cement concrete as a protection against damage by deicing chemicals. The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard.

PROPERTIES
The compound shall consist of a homogeneous mixture of 50 percent boiled linseed oil and 50 percent petroleum spirits by volume. The boiled linseed oil shall conform to the requirements of ASTM D 260, for Boiled Linseed Oil Type 1 or Type 11. The petroleum spirits shall conform to the requirements of ASTM D 235, for Petroleum Spirits (Mineral Spirits).

When so requested by the purchaser, the manufacturer shall certify that the boiled linseed oil and petroleum spirits used in the mixture fully conform to the requirements specified in Sections 3.2 and 3.3, respectively. The mixture shall have the following properties: Minimum Maximum
