Introduction

The evidence for climate change due to human activities is becoming stronger each year. Most scientists who study global climate agree that the effects are real. It has been calculated that in order to stabilize the global climate by the end of the 21st century, atmospheric carbon emissions need to be reduced 60 percent from current levels. What this means is that if all citizens of Earth are allowed to emit the same amount (just to be fair), and the total amount is cut back by 60 percent. In Malaysia, we are still lack of awareness to understand the complex issues on renewable energy. Due to this concern, one group of UniKL Micet students will run one project related to renewable energy which not only make sense but also work to preserve the environment around us. The Renewable Energy Day program is an event that can form part of the Renewable Energy for Sustainable Tomorrow or can help to launch it as a part of our assignment for Introduction to Renewable Energy (CPB 40003 & 40002). It is dedicated to providing people with information about energy, the importance of conserving it and simple ways to do so. It is an ideal way in which to demonstrate to people why it is necessary to change their behavior and actions and how to go about it.

Assignment 3
As a future EngineerWhat will it take for the engineers of the future to meet societys challenges? Does it serve the nation well to permit the engineering profession and engineering education to lag technology and society? Rather, should the engineering profession anticipate needed advances and prepare for a future where it will provide more benefit to humankind? Likewise, should engineering education evolve to do the same?

Engineering is seen separately from technology, in fact it is perceived as quite removed from high technology and more linked to the past. Teachers recommend engaging young people with engineering by connecting the topic with kids interest in IT, gaming, the Internet and gadgets. The successful future engineer will need strong analytical skills, practical ingenuity, creativity, good communication skills, business and management knowledge, leadership, high ethical standards, professionalism, dynamism, agility, resilience, flexibility, and the pursuit of lifelong learning. Engineering students need to find appropriate media vehicles to reach young people and the wider public, and help make engineering real and credible for them. If young people are to be encouraged into engineering, awareness and shift perceptions need to be raised among them. Specific interventions are required to create exposure to engineering and engineers and stimulate the interest of young people, and the teachers and parents who advise them. The young people, teachers and parents had some clear advice for those intending to run schemes like this. Work experience needs to be meaningful and offer a real insight into the job or career. It has to be more than teamaking, photocopying or sweeping the floor. Talks in schools should be by engaging, dynamic, and preferably young, engineers. They should be people who students in schools and colleges can identify with and aspire to be like.
