Santa Barbara, CA SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER Designed Ultra position stages with accuracies less than 300 nanometers. Conceptualized and designed automated systems. Designed the companys single largest automated system. This system attached an 8mm wide x 125mm long silicon ink jet die to a delivery manifold within 5 microns. The system consisted of conveyors, pneumatic and servo motor transfer stations, vision and adhesive dispense and seal system. Designed for class 100 clean room. Designed, detailed and mechanically assembled 90% of the production tooling from alignment fixtures to XYZ laser bond stations. This included all safety enclosures. Designed all fixtures, tooling and cleaning equipment for new customers. Created and installed a documentation system that is being used company wide. Performed PMs on all production equipment.

9/1/1999 TO 8/1/2006 Millennium Automation Fremont, CA DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING Conceptualized and designed work holders and platforms for the in-house design of the Optoflex measurement system. The Optoflex system was designed to measure HASs (head stack assemblies for hard disks) for pitch roll and yaw within 3 microns. Designed automated heated indexing and transfer system for Palomar die attach machines. These systems pre-heated and final heated power amplifier bases for die attach. The parts were also clamped for repeatable assembly. Conceptualized and designed two systems for Netflix DVD rentals in Santa Clara, CA. One system separated incoming product into two bins for same day shipment or restock. This system ran at 10K disks per hour. The other system inserted new DVDs into storage sleeves and installed the label with bar code. Duties included directing 3 mechanical engineers and 3 electrical engineers.

6/1/1982 TO 5/15/1999 Unmanned Solutions Inc. Fremont, CA VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING AND ONE OF TWO PRINCIPALS Conceptualized and designed customer automation equipment for a variety of customers. This included concepts, proposals, pricing, design, detailing and assisting in assembly of the equipment. 80% of equipment designed was for class 10-100 clean rooms. Major customers included: IBM (Hard disk sorting equipment), Micron (Memory chip sorting equipment), Boeing Aerospace (Epoxy bottle, capping and labeling line), Biostar (Wafer handling system and reagent dispensing and coating), Seagate (Hard disk handling systems), and Hewlett Packard (Hard disk handling system and sorters). Responsibilities included 90 percent of all machine concepts to be designed. Delegated duties to 4 mechanical engineers and 3 electrical/software engineers. Principal duties to design complex system and machine designs. 5/1/1977 TO 6/1/1982 Intel Corporation Santa Clara, CA MECHANICAL ENGINEER Sr. Design Engineer/Developed industry first die depress system. Developed custom work holders for die attach and wire bond systems. Developed wave solder, assembly systems and carriers for Intel Caribou project stacking two 16 led PDIP components on top of each other. EDUCATION 1970 TO 1972 AA DEGREE
