The Science PracticaI Assessment (PEKA) is a school-based assessment that is implemented at school as a part of the
teaching and learning process. This PEKA Guide contains information on the objectives and the framework of PEKA. It works
as a guideline for teachers to assess pupils practical work in a coordinated manner.
OBJECTIVES OF PEKA
The objectives in conducting PEKA is to enable the pupils to
THE FRAMEWORK OF PEKA
Learning Area
The learning area comprises of three main elements.
Element 1 and Element 2 contain a list of criteria of the skills as performance indicator which are expected to be mastered by
1995.
Element 3 contains a list of criteria for scientific attitudes and noble values as performance indicator which can be observed by
the teacher/assessor.
