Organizational Background:
A group of Jewish activists in Philadelphia recognized a voice that was not being heard.
That is the voice of Jews who care about their community and the rest of the world, and
want to participate in decisions made about the conduct of local, national and
international affairs. Between April and December 2003, a discussion group on the issues
that were missing became an organization for change. Today, with a large and influential
Board, JSPAN invites everyone to help make progressive principles drawn from Jewish
teachings heard.
