During the past five years the lncandescent lighting industry has seen a significant change in thermaland eleclrjcal testing requirements. This s the result of potential hazards associated with the misuse of insulatlon. Changes to the National Electric Code and in Underwriters' Laboratories testing procedures have necessitated addiUonal testing procedures. This testing is required for every trim and housing combination available in the product ne.

Halo resolved that the most effective long term solution tor both misuse of nsulation and over-lamping problems was the use of integral thermal protection. The development of an lntegra Thermal Protection Systern for each Halo product is an extensive procedure.
