Interesting buildings in Malacca 1 Many people visit Malacca to see the old buildings there. The most famous building is called A Formosa. The Portugese built it in 1511. Another old building is called The Stadhuys. It was built by the Dutch in 1650. It is a big building with many rooms and halls, stairs and corridors. 2 Places of worship are also interesting places to visit. A very old mosque is the Kampung Kling Mosque. It looks beautiful with its three-tiered roof. The Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, built in 1646, is the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. There are beautiful carvings inside the temple. 3 The Saint Paul Church is situated on top of a hill. Only its stone walls and floor can be seen today. Another interesting church is the Saint Xaviers Church, built in 1849. It has two towers by the side of the entrance. 4 There are also many different types of traditional Malay buildings in Malacca. Most of these are wooden buildings. The roofs are made of attap. The rooms are cool and airy because of the numerous windows.
