THE TOPIC
The topic identified for the seminar is on Company Law. The current law on companies is in the process of restructuring and requires a revisit by all concerned.
The Companies Bill 2011 was passed by Lok Sabha on 18th December 2012 and the Government has initiated the process of drafting the rules under the proposed Act. The Bill is divided into 29 chapters, 470 sections and 7 schedules. The new law is intended to bring fundamental changes to company law. It is also expected that this would bring about simplification, transparency and effectiveness to various areas of company law. A Two day National Seminar, with national and regional participants intends contribute to the understanding of the said laws.
