Preface
Preface
Purpose
This document describes how to install an Evolium A9100 MBS Outdoor (Multistandard Base Station). In this document, to facilitate understanding, the MBS cabinet can also be named: MBO1/MBO1DC for single cabinet MBO2/MBO2DC for twin cabinets.
Note:
MBO2/MBO2DC = MBO1/MBO1DC + MBOE/MBOEDC (MBOE/MBOEDC = Extension Cabinet on the right of equipment) The cabinet can be equipped either with: UMTS modules only or GSM modules only or UMTS and GSM modules (MBO2/MBO2DC only).
Whats New
In Edition 10
The section Option: Optical Fiber Installation (Section 7) was added for STM1 connection. The section Kits / Supplies / Documents / Tools (Section A) was updated accordingly.
In Edition 09
The following sections were updated for Narada battery type: Batteries Dismantling (if Necessary) (Section 3.3.3) Battery Installation (Section 4.3.2). Section AC 230 V Power Supply Connection (Section 5.4.1) was updated for MBOT cabinet type. Update for bridge size in section DC - 48 V Power Supply Connection (Section 5.4.2).

Ensure all switches or fuses devoted to the rack into the site connection box are powered off Due to high leakage current, the protective EARTH must be connected to the equipment before AC/DC power cable connection.

Help: Note:
To install and connect PCM cables at site side, refer to the document: Installation Method of DDF for BSS Equipment document. In case of multistandard installation, the ports 1 and 2 are dedicated to the GSM part (Abis 1 and 2) and ports 3 and 4 are dedicated to the UMTS part (E1-1 and E1-2).
Depending on equipped SUMU board variant the following situations can occur: For SUMU variants up to 3BK 25837 AGxx only the PCM connection is supported and it is mandatory From SUMU variant 3BK 25837 AHxx on, the PCM connection is optional.
