How can our circuit penetration level in Makakilo be 100 %, when visual observation of what is sitting on the roofs out here does not match up ?

Why should we (Makakilo Residents) be forced to paying for outdated infrastructure (like old transformers), while Kapolei Knolls residents (and newer developments) are not subject to the same treatment ? Here we are wanting to help go green with the rest of our community and it just seems we are going to be penalized for helping out and wanting to do so. Something here just does not pass the smell test. Aloha, D. Kalani Capelouto Member - Makakilo Kapolei Neighborhood Board # 34

Hello Dean, As of today, the PV system you are proposing has a circuit penetration level at 100% or greater of the minimum daytime load. This indicates a highly saturated circuit and a representative study will likely be required in order to interconnect with the HECO grid. Our review group can complete a more detailed review upon submission of the NEM agreement. As each case is reviewed individually, details on timeframes and prorated costs, if applicable, will be provided to the customer when they are determined. This information is subject to change and we suggest that you submit the Net Energy Metering (NEM) agreement with drawings as soon as possible to place your project on its respective circuit. Circuit availability is on a first come, first serve basis. Please keep in mind that there may be other factors to consider that may alter the information provided and details on the interconnection process are outlined in Rule 18 and Rule 14H. Hawaiian Electric Company's technical review committee will review the respective documentation to make a determination regarding an interconnection study or any other requirements which need to be addressed. Aloha,

Based on your Consumer Lines dated October 2013, we are in the process of installing or having a contractor install solar electric system on our roof. We need to know if there are any restrictions based on our desire to immediately install a 10 panel system, (under 10 KW), for the following address: XXXXXXXX AXXXXXXX Street Kapolei, Hawaii 96707 (located in lower Makakilo) Looking out around my neighborhood, I only see 3 or 4 solar electric systems currently installed out of about 200 rooftops I can see in my neighborhood, . If there is any application process or any sort of waiting list, please advise what else is necessary. Thanks, Dean Capelouto General Manager
