4. Press Rls. The functions of the keys are now exchanged. Line keys cannot be exchanged with intercom or handsfree/mute keys. FEATURE * 82 Set dialling mode There are three settings: 1. Automatic dial - this is the normal setting - hot dial pad: dial a number without picking up handset or pressing a line key. 2. Standard dial - press a line key, then dial the number. 3. Pre - dial - dial a number, then press a line key to start the call dialling. When used at the end of a speed dial digit string this feature acts as the Rls key Refer to system manager

Run / Stop

Use a personal speed dial To dial: press FEATURE 0 and a two digit code 71 - 94 These speed dials are available at your phone only and you programme them with FEATURE * 4 Use a central speed dial To dial: press FEATURE 0 and a two digit code 01 - 70 These speed dials are available at all phones (subject to call barring) and are programmed by the system manager Send a message to an extension that they are to call you: 1. Press FEATURE 6 5 or MSG to view messages. 2. Press * / # or next to view message list. 3. Press 0 or call to call the person who left a message. 4. Press hold or erase (whilst viewing a message) to erase a message. Cancel a message When an extension is busy or not answered you can tell the system to call again when the party is available you can use this feature to 'book' a free line

Voice Call to an extension Speak direct to an extension without ringing:

You can dial this saved number by pressing FEATURE 6 7 Bypass call restrictions applied to your telephone: FEATURE 6 8 password Interrupt a person on a call or using do not disturb Transfer a call to another extension: 1. You are on a call. 2. Press TRANSFER or FEATURE 7 0 3. Dial extension number. 4. Extension answers, announce call. 5. Press or Rls to OK connect call. If the extension does not want call or does not answer press CANCEL Generate a flash / recall signal to your host PBX Puts a call on hold (terminal shows a retrieval code of 101 or 102) and is available for retrieval from any extension dialling the retrieval code Collect a parked call Answer a call ringing at another extension (extension must be in your pickup group, the call that has been awaiting answer the longest is answered first). Shows duration of current / last call DTMF: inserts a 3.5 second delay in digit string Temporarily suspend a call - only your telephone can retrieve it to retrieve: press Hold or line key

Transfer a call to another extension: 1. You are on a call. 2. Press TRANSFER or FEATURE 7 0 3. Dial extension number. 4. Extension answers, announce call. 5. Press Rls or OK to connect call. If the extension does not want the call or does not answer press CANCEL

Changing the System Time


To change the system time on the Norstar Meridian: 1. Place the programming overlay on any M7208, M7310 or M7324 2. Press FEATURE * * A D M I N (2 3 6 4 6), the display reads Password: 3. Enter the Admin password, the default is A D M I N (2 3 6 4 6), the display reads 1. Sys speed dial 4. Press NEXT until the display reads 3. Time and date 5. Press SHOW, the display reads Time 6. Press CHANGE, the display reads Hour: 7. Press CHANGE 8. Enter the hour in two-digit format for the 12 or 24 hour clocks 9. Press NEXT the display reads Minutes 10. Press CHANGE 11. Enter the minutes 12. Press NEXT 13. If you have entered an hour less than 12, the display reads AM or PM. If not, skip to step 15. 14. Press CHANGE to toggle between AM and PM 15. Press RLS to exit

System Programming for Meridian Compact


To go into the System Programming on the Norstar Meridian: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Place the programming overlay on any M7208, M7310 or M7324 Press FEATURE * * C O N F I G (2 6 6 3 4 4), the display reads Password: Enter the System password, the default is C O N F I G (2 6 6 3 4 4), Use the navigation keys to change the settings, as required.
