In this medium shot of the two girls we can see that girls are walking in the middle of nowhere and have a long walk, we can tell by the gothic appearance, dressed in all back, with black leather coats on. These costumes suggest death, and a dark side to them. In this scene the nondiegetic music is playing building tension with the use of a piano gradually getting louder. Some of the effects used could be the fact that there is a slight grey filter on the camera work which makes the scene look grey and dull. We can see that there is blood on the girls neck which shows that they have been involved and caused a death to occur; both the girls have got an angry expression on their face. The hyperbolic footsteps are also used to build tension. This leaves us with the question of Why have they killed someone?

In this master shot of the interview room where Kurt the detective is interviewing Sonya the young girl we can see that Kurt is angry by the facial expression, and body language suggesting he doesnt know what to

do with Sonya as she is playing hard to get, which makes him angry. In the background we can hear the clock ticking which every time it ticks the camera cuts to another person in the room, this gives the audience a sense of time and the impatience growing in Kurts fuse to get it out of Sonya why she killed the cab driver. The low key lighting used can give the audience the feel of how confined the room is making it dark with only sauce of light which is dimmed. We now have found that the girls have definitely killed someone, a cab driver and that Kurt is a detective who is trying to interrogate the girls. In the reaction shot of Sonyas face we can get the feel that she is not scared and in fact looks a bit senile.

In another master shot we have jumped to Kurts house which is also dingey in the fact that everything is brown and dull. The diegetic sound of the phone ringing also leads up to the theme of this senile effect by the phone ringing loudly and for a while. This also suggests the person on the other end of the phone is not giving up and persevering in getting his attention. We can see both characters looking at the phone with despair as it keeps going; the daughter is trying to get Kurt to answer as she knows that it is his wife. Why wont he answer? However from the way the he is stood it looks like that he doesnt bother that much in answering and doesnt care because he stood up wright like he has a grudge. The

warm colours of deep browns and dark lighting gives us the feel of something evil about the house or going to happen in that house.
