COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is designed to produce a good worker at workshop who adhere to general safety rules ,adhere safety procedure, Use suitable and protective clothing and outfit, maintain protective outfit used, adhere all safety measures regulations and safety procedure while working in an open space. Use of fire extinguisher and carry out first aid practices.

Perform on proper type and procedure of fire extinguisher to be used in proper location and condition. Perform operating fire extinguisher as manufactures manual. Recognize by listing various materials that can cause fire. Identify the procedure of contacting the relevant authorities according to the Standard Operation Procedure Identify and list various types of fire extinguisher according to the manual.

CONTENT STANDARD 5. CARRY OUT EMERGENCY FIRST AID TECHNIQUES

5.1 Identify various types of accidents/injuries. 5.2 Follow the safety procedures and move the victim/casualty to another location. 5.3 Provide and demonstrate first aid procedures for various types of accidents/injuries. 5.4 Perform and demonstrate artificial respiration.

Identify types of injuries and causes of the fire so that injury can be treated immediately. Perform safety procedures to remove victim from the location to avoid serious injury. Perform first aid procedures for accidents / injuries so that the victim can be treated immediately. Perform the correct procedure of artificial respiration such as chest press, mouth to mouth and oxygen respiration so that the victim can be treated immediately. Ability to conduct artificial respiration to help the victims according to the proper procedures. Ability to treat injuries efficiently to help the victims according to the proper procedures. CONTENT STANDARD 6. PERFORM DAILY INSPECTION

LEARNING STANDARD 6.1 Identify types of safety equipment. 6.2 Check maintenance card regularly. 6.1.1 6.2.1 6.3.1 6.4.1

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA Identify types of safety equipment as stated in the specification. Read and interpret maintenance card and run inspection as scheduled . Store the materials and equipment properly to avoid damage. Interpret safety colour code such as fire-fighting equipment, pipe line and alarm (red) as outlined by the Fire and Rescue Department Service defected part of equipment according to manual specification. Service or replace defected equipment as stated in the specification.

6.3 Identify proper place for keeping the safety equipment. 6.4 Perform visual inspection on the equipment. 6.5 Test the serviceability of the safety features of the equipment. 6.6 Service and replace defected part if necessary. 6.7 Maintain equipment after use.
