About Us:
Lincoln International Trade (LIT) is a firm built on the premise to promote
the exportation of high-quality made products from North America to global markets. At
LIT, we strive to build a bridge between our competences of foreign cultures and
business practices to bring strong and profitable solutions to American businesses
looking to expand their market share.
The original industry focus for LIT is the Photovoltaic/Solar Energy
market. As countries and corporations alike reassess their energy demands, it is slowly
becoming more apparent that traditional sources of energy; coal & oil are becoming more
& more expensive to acquire and sustain. Solar has become leader apparent in the quest
for renewable energy sources. Countries particularly like the U.S. & China have spent
considerable resources in building both domestic and international demand for Solar
Energy systems. Manufacturing for Solar Modules has increased exponentially over just
the last five (5) years. However a well informed individual will tell you, there is more to
building a properly functioning Solar System than just a collection of Solar Panels.
Devices such as Inverters, Disconnection Cables, Mounting Equipment, Combiner
Boxes, etc. are all detrimental to making sure one has a proper Solar System which is not
only economically feasible, but has a long & self-efficient life span.
LIT is here to assist foreign manufacturers and distributors of
Photovoltaic/Solar Systems in locating key components, which allow their modules to
perform to the highest consumer expectations. Two key products LIT currently is
focusing on are Combiner Boxes & PV Laminates.
You can learn more about these products in the next few pages.

Combiner Boxes
Problem: How do you maintain a high functioning Photovoltaic (PV)/Solar System
with minimal maintenance requirement, and the ability to fix problems without disrupting
the whole system?

Solution: Combiner boxes are an invaluable component to PV/Solar systems in

guaranteeing the optimal efficiency of PV modules with little to no maintenance and
minimal disruption to a system during electrical outages.

How It Works: Imagine if you built a PV system for a small – medium sized
commercial building. Hypothetically, the building consumes 12 – 15 Kwh. If you wanted
to bring the same building to approximately 30 – 40 % (3.6 – 6 Kwh) efficiency with a
PV system, and wanted to use solar modules with 200-Watt output, you would need
approximately 30 solar modules. Simply connecting those 30 modules to an inverter is
not only physically impossible, but also highly uneconomical.
In a standard PV System, you can have wires run directly from the PV
modules to the DC/AC inverter box. Or you can use a simple transition box that converts
PV array wires to more durable wiring, prior to the inverter. A system measuring
between 1 – 4 Kwh typically does not require the use of a Combiner box. However if you
are dealing with a grid connected residential installation of more than 20 PV modules, an
off-grid PV system which relies primarily on PV energy, or a commercial project,
Combiner boxes are pivotal to making sure the overall PV system functions to the highest
efficiency.
Contrary to popular belief, combiner boxes are not simply glorified fuse-
boxes. Within a PV Array system, Combiner boxes operate as a central point for
combining module wires prior to disconnect from the inverter box. With a combiner box
in a system like the one highlighted above, if there was disruption to the PV system due
to a malfunctioning module, or a short-circuited array wire, it is not required to
disconnect the entire system. Rather a troubleshooting technician can quickly locate the
problematic source, and fix it while allowing the remaining PV modules continue to
function.

What We Offer: At LIT, we work closely with a leading manufacturer in the

Combiner Box market. Our partner, has been in business for over 30 years manufacturing
industrial installation equipment for the automobile, semiconductor industries, and has
applied this knowledge to creating combiner boxes that set UL & international standards
for the products. The next page highlights the extraordinary features of the components…

Solar Module Back-sheet
Problem: How do you guarantee the performance of your solar modules for their 20-30 years life
expectancy, from various natural elements that can cause deficiency?

Solution: Protective back-sheets are a metallic film placed on the back of Solar panels & “thin
film” solar products to prevent harsh natural elements such as UV rays, moisture, and weather.

How It Works: Back-sheets provides electrical insulation and prevents migration of electrons
into the structure of the module. They operate at up to 1,000 VDC and a created out of a Polyester-
based material to provide extra durability.

What We Have to Offer: LIT works with a US manufacturer, who has been in the solar
protective back-sheet business since 2000. The manufacturer is a leading innovator in providing
back-sheets to solar manufacturers. With over 20 million square feet of solar back-sheets in
service with no failures to date, you are assured to be receiving an exceptional product to increase
the value of your modules.
* Pricing and customization available upon request

Solar Module Back-sheet Product Features

• UL1741 standard certified
• Capable to perform under Damp Heat & Freeze-thaw
conditions
• Superior bond retention to module
• Chemically resistant & easily cleanable
• Mounted roof protection from solar modules

Pressure Sensory Film
Problem: How do you make sure any adhesive process during solar manufacturing is bound
sufficiently for optimum usage?

Solution: Sensory film is capable of identifying pressure points between two surfaces prior to
binding. The film is capable of depicting specific PSI Value’s & magnitudes between surfaces, to
make highly accurate points for contact.

How It Works: The film comes in a roll which after cutting to fit the surface area is able to depict
and sustain the pressure points of the surface. With an extremely thin space (4 – 8 mils), the film
incredibly light weight, and durable enough to sustain various surfaces. The instantly available
results can be measured with an accompanying scale. Or sent to the manufacturer for in depth
analysis.
