Markets are high. Harvest has ended in British Columbia. Arrivals from Argentina are limited due to rain and previous frost.
Very little Chilean fruit is being imported and Peru is done for the season. California is not able to meet demand and while Mexico would normally be able to fill, production is down. We expect this trend until the end of October.

Both quality and supplies from California and Mexico are better. Demand is stronger.

Eastern Beans are improving daily. Michigan is finished and the Tennessee/North Carolina areas have improved. Light volumes should begin from Georgia soon.
Conditions are favorable, markets are slightly better and demand is quieter. There are still some quality issues such as bruising and white shoulders. We expect improvement as areas fully transition into Santa Maria.

Markets are firm as supplies remain light and quality is weak. Product is currently from Guatemala and transitioning into Mexico next week.
Broccoli markets are very active overall with lighter plantings. Quality issues include hollow core. Cauliflower supplies are lighter and markets are active.

Cantaloupe markets are active. Large fruit is tight, but smaller sizes have been available. The transition into the Arizona area will be slow and a short term gap is anticipated. Larger Honeydews from the Westside are also short, but will ease as light volumes from Arizona have begun and sizes have been large.

Markets have temporally eased as supplies increased. However, with recent rains expect more stylar and quality issues than normal from the saturated fruit.

Valencia Orange quality has improved, but not great. Markets are steady.
Georgia Cucumber have started with good volumes and quality; markets are steady. Georgia Eggplant volumes are good and improving daily. Quality is good.
Pepper markets are holding steady from Carolina and Canada with Georgia to follow. Expect markets to remain strong until Georgia starts in earnest. Green Squash volumes are tight and markets are strong. Yellow Squash markets are steady due to many growing areas producing at one time. Georgia will have the best quality for the next several weeks.

Overall, Grape markets are stable, quality is good and demand is steady. Green Grapes show some amber.
California Colored Pepper markets are holding steady and markets are tight.

Iceberg markets are much stronger and quality is fair at best. Expect markets to remain active over the next couple of weeks. Romaine and Leaf markets are slightly higher.
The Idaho Potato market is starting to level out after the previous decline. The Red market is steady but high, with tight availability in B size.
tomatoes
Roma markets are tight due to crop damage in Baja and mainland Mexico caused by Hurricane Manuel in mid-September. Round, Grape and Cherry markets are steady.
