Procedure A. Preparatory Activities 1. Review What are the chemical substances that can pollute land? 2. Motivation What can you say about our rivers? canals? seashore? Are you glad about their appearance? Why? B. Developmental Activities 1. Ask: Can water be polluted? 2. Picture study: Show pictures of farmers using pesticides, beautician using spray net, factories emitting black smoke etc. 3. Show other pictures about pollution 4. Ask pupils about what could be the sources of these pollution of the environment. C. Generalization What kind of substances usually pollutes soil, water and air? How do they contribute to land, water and air pollution? State their effects to people? D. Application Where should you throw your garbage? Why? What must you do with your biodegradable waste? Why? IV. Evaluation Write land, water or air on the blank of each substance to show what it pollutes ______1. vinegar ______3. smoke from vehicles ______5. fertilizers ______2. pesticides ______4. oil spill V. Suppose you are living near the sea or a river. List down ways on how you can prevent these chemical substances to pollute our bodies of water.
