1.2 To provide a mechanism for addressing language differences problems of patients who cannot speak other language than their own language. 2. POLICY 2.1 All Gulf Diagnostic Center hospital staff respect and to extent possible, ensure that patients need for privacy and security, religious counseling and communication is addressed at all times, whenever applicable while in Gulf Diagnostic Center hospital premises. 3. SCOPE 3.1 This policy applies on all the departments of Gulf Diagnostic Center hospital, clinical and non-clinical. 4. RESPONSIBILITY 4.1 All Staff 5. GUIDELINES: 5.1 A patient who enters the hospital premise is treated with respect at all times and his/her right to privacy ensured by all GDCH staff he/she comes in contact with. 5.2 A patient who will undergo diagnostic or treatment procedure or who is admitted in the hospital is reminded of the need to secure his/her valuables. 5.3 A patient has the right to receive or decline spiritual and moral comfort. 5.4 Provisions are made for communication with a patient who is unable to speak or understand the language. 5.5 The treatment team is responsible for assessment of language limitations of each patient and to notify Patients Relations Officer (PRO) when translator services are needed. 6.
