JUNK FOOD????
History: SHOCKING FACTS:
Junk food is a term describing food that is per-
ceived to be unhealthy or having poor nutritional value,
according to Food Standards Agency. The term is be-
lieved to have been coined by Michael Jacobson, director
of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, in 1972.
The term has since become common usage.

Junk Food includes those food items that do not

add any value to a person’s diet. Here, value denotes
essential nutrients, vitamins & minerals. Street food and
fast food are also taken in the same context as junk.

Orientation
Program

Members of SCP (Students Committee for Projects) have successfully conducted the orientation program
for physical sciences second year students belonging to MSCS 2A and MSCS 2B. It was attended by majority of students and
was presented and arranged by members under the guidance of the Project Facilitators. Basic structure of interdisciplinary
projects and role of SCP were focused in the program.

SCP has planned a schedule in advance in

order to conduct the orientation program to all the 2nd
year students and to make sure that they are aware of
the importance of IDP (Interdisciplinary Projects) at UG
level.

The advantages as well as the responsibilities of each

and every individual are explained clearly so that they
can work in a group and mingle with all the group
members actively. They even shared their experiences
and their learning’s after completing the projects last
year which really helped the 2nd year students to un-
derstand the DO & Don’ts at the time of projects.
