Lk 7:11-16 The large crowd in todays gospel were inspired to say: God has visited his people!(Lk 7:16).

Now, we can say that there is only One who exists within us and around us, who exercises a different authority over the mystery of life, because God has visited his people! An insightful person will say: we are dying. But we can say,God has visited his people! So we see in todays gospel as Jesus drew near to the gate of the city of Nain, He came across a man who had died and was being carried out of the city with a large crowd. This man was the only son of his mother, and she was also a widow. Its not necessary for us to think we are dead, or for others to think that we have died. What is necessary is for us to stay close to the feet of the One who always existed before the world and time began, and who will continue to exist after the world and time ends. Therefore, if you happen to be close to Him, to the One who always existed Jesus Christ it doesnt make a difference if you are dead or alive, you always hope and wait for life to come. And life comes through death. Like a seed, if it doesnt fall into the earth and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces much grain (Jn. 12:24). This occurs with us, if we do not suffer, we will remain on our own. Christ died in order to give life, a principle of self-sacrifice which applies to all those who follow the way of Christ. St Paul said, we as Christians are, always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies (2 Cor. 4:10). The issue is this, many of us ache but few are awakened. Many of us suffer but few of us enter into joy. The joyful message of Jesus Christ, the good news is that He gives us the ability to Passover from death to life. The great fact is that you can die waiting for Jesus Christ. You may lose your mind, you may get depressed and low, you may be abandoned by every power, physical, mental or spiritual. But the issue is this, if you can, even exhausted and dead, to wait and be grateful. Be faithful, becauseGod has visited his people! And when the Lord saw the mother of the dead man in todays gospel, he had compassion on her and said to her, Do not weep. And he came and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to you, arise. And the dead man sat up, and began to speak. So we see the loving kindness, compassion and mercy of our Lord Jesus. He offered this mother a gift, He offered her son a gift, He offers us a gift. It is the gift of Gods mercy. He is merciful towards our weakness, even unto death. Therefore we can trust in the mercy and loving-kindness of God, since no works of our own will deliver us from death. The raising of the son by the Lord, manifests His power over life and death and gives assurance of His resurrection and ours. A transformation into the glory of eternal life, if we are faithful. Christianity is victorious, but not trouble free. Gods goal for us is not simply to make us happy and successful in this life. His goal for us is to make us in the image and likeness of His Son Jesus Christ. Is it possible for us to have victory over our circumstances in this life? Yes, it is. The apostle Paul said, Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14). Jesus Christ came down from the cross dead, so that He could defeat death for ever, and for everyone. Amen
