VISION: To inspire passion. MISSION: To cultivate continuous engagement through meaningful relationships in support of the university's mission. FY14 STRATEGY: Retain; Acquire; Grow FOCUS AREAS:

Constituents : (Graduate Students; Graduate Alumni; Parents; and Friends of the university): Improve marketing segmentation and messaging; identify presenters, subject matter experts and topics of interest. Virtual Programs: Continue the development of Mountain Talks and career and professional development programs. Young Alumni: Improve involvement in all aspect of our Alumni Relations programs from volunteering to event attendance with particular attention to Reunion. Outreach: Bringing Lehigh to where our alumni live (regional clubs) or where they have professional/personal interest (affinity). Volunteer Opportunities Online: Dramatically increase our volunteer base. As ambassadors, they are a force multiplier promoting all things Lehigh.

1ST GOAL/OBJECTIVE Description: Oversight of sub-committee efforts to expand the constituent base Tactics:

Provide template for standardized method of monthly committee reports to track progress Invite all committee chairs to participate on monthly governance committee conference calls

2ND GOAL/OBJECTIVE Description:

Continue to promote and refine the role of Board members as ambassadors


Tactics:

Provide training at Volunteer Leadership Forum Preliminary efforts to involve Board in planning for the 150th playing of the Lehigh Lafayette football game and the University's Sesquicentennial Plans to be shared at 10/11 Board meeting Add Ambassadorship Resources link to LUAA Board private page (see 3rd goal tactic)

3RD GOAL/OBJECTIVE Description:

Improve communication with and amongst Advancement leadership, trustees, sub-committees, staff, and the alumni body
Tactics:

Develop LUAA Board private page on MyLehigh to enhance ability for information sharing as well as being better stewards of the University's resources (going green) Periodic meetings of LUAA and Advancement leadership (first FY14 meeting held on 8/20)

Tactics:

Selection of new Board members each year (facilitate nomination process) Refine role of alumni trustees as conduits between Trustee Board and LUAA Board have alumni trustees provide update stemming from their October meeting during the November GC conference call Strengthen the connection between LUAA Board and ex-officio groups Meet with ex-officios leaders during governance committee breakout session on 10/11
