JOB CONDITIONS A. Review requirements of outlets as to size, finish, and type of mounting prior to submitting shop drawings and schedules of outlets.

Check location of outlets and make necessary adjustments in position to conform with architectural features, symmetry, and lighting arrangement.

PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 ACCEPTABLE MANUFACTURERS A. The Contractor shall submit to the Supervising Engineer the names of three manufacturers and their products which will be acceptable under this Section. Approval of the manufacturer or product must be obtained before proceeding with associated work. Units shall be product of a Manufacturer regularly engaged in the production of these units issuing complete catalog data of same. Provide supply aluminum outlets with sponge rubber seal around edge. Provide baffles to direct air away from walls, columns, or other obstructions within radius of diffuser operation. Provide register boxes for flexible duct connections and diffusers. Provide plaster frame for diffusers located in plaster surfaces.

Provide anti-smudge frames or plaques on diffusers located in rough textured surfaces such as an acoustical plaster. Distribute specified quantity of air evenly without drafts, air movement faster than 0.25 m/s or dead zones. Mix room air with primary by induction to provide equalization of room temperature without stratification.

SUPPLY AIR REGISTERS - (SAR), RETURN AIR REGISTER, (RAR) A. For sidewall supply registers provide streamlined and individually adjustable blades, depth of which exceeds 19mm maximum spacing. Provide spring tension or other device to set blades. Provide units with vertical or horizontal face, single or double deflection bar style grills as indicated, with opposed blade volume damper. Provide 32mm margin frame with countersunk screw holes. Fabricate of aluminum extrusions unless otherwise indicated. Provide registers with integral, gang-operated opposed blade dampers with removable key operator, operable from face. Return air registers not connected to AC return ducts shall not be provided with volume dampers. Finish in factory white anodized aluminum, or as indicated in the schedule.

SQUARE SUPPLY CEILING DIFFUSERS (SCD) / RETURN CEILING DIFFUSERS (RCD) A. Provide square ceiling diffusers, adjustable or fixed flow pattern, stamped, multicore type, diffuser to discharge air in 360 degree pattern with sectorizing baffles where indicated or required. Diffusers shall have surface mount or snap-in or inverted T-bar or spline type frame to suit ceiling. Fabricate of aluminum extrusions with anodized finish.

Provide radial opposed blade or combination splitter damper and multi-louvered equalizing grid with damper adjustable from diffuser face for supply diffusers and without damper for return diffusers. Diffuser mounting system shall be compatible with the ceiling system provided.

SUPPLY/RETURN LINEAR CEILING DIFFUSER (SLCD/RLCD) A. B. C. Provide slot type linear supply return ceiling diffusers. Diffuser face shall be free of fasteners or screws. Diffusers shall be provided with factory assembled plenum boxes with opposed blade dampers. Fabricate of aluminum extrusions with anodized finish. Diffusers located in plaster ceilings shall be provided with separate plaster stop mounting frame. Alignment clips shall be provided so that continuous sections shall appear to be one piece.

OUTSIDE LOUVERS A. Louvers shall be storm-proof, operable wall type, 150 mm deep, with blades on 45 slope, with drainable blade design. Fabricate of 12 gage (2.50 mm) extruded aluminum, welded assembly. Louver finish shall be factory-anodized. Unit to be similar or equivalent to model MO, Airstream Products Division. Provide stainless steel insect screen, 10 mm square opening, No.16 wire gauge.

DOOR GRILLES (DG) A. B. Provide non-vision type door grille, fabricated of extruded aluminum. Provide 20 gage (0.90mm) steel frame with auxiliary frame to give finished appearance on both sides of door. Factory prime coat with anodized finish colored to suit door finish.
