Part 2 - PRODUCTS 2.01 Acceptable Manufacturers A. The Contractor shall submit to the Supervising Engineer the names of three manufacturers and their products which will be acceptable under this Section. Approval of the manufacturer or product must be obtained before proceeding with associated work. Units shall be the product of a Manufacturer regularly engaged in production of these items and issuing complete catalog data for same. Items of same function and performance are acceptable.

Cleanouts A. Provide caulked or threaded type extended to finished ground surface. Ensure ample clearance at cleanout for rotting of drainage system. Ground cleanouts shall be Zurn model 1400 or approved equal.

Floor Drains A. Floor drains: Duracoat cast iron body with bottom outlet combined two piece body reversible clamping device and adjustable collar with type C polished hinged nickel-bronze strainer. Gulley to have integral deep seal trap suitable for back inlet connections. Provide Vandal proof secured top. Floor drains in equipment rooms with polished bronze funnel type strainer, and extension for floating floor. (ZURN)

Area Drains/Upstand Drains A. Area drain: Lacquered cast iron body to ASTM A48 with adjustable collar and galvanized ductile iron locking grate.

2.05

Traps A. Fit each fixture and piece of equipment requiring connection to the drainage system, except grease interceptors, with a trap. Place the trap as near the fixture as possible and no fixture is to be double trapped.

Water Meter A. Meter shall be flanged, turbine type having 6-digit totalizer reading in cubic meter with flow rate indicator. Meters 15mm to 80mm shall have a bronze body. Meters 100mm to 150mm shall be cast iron. Measuring chamber shall be bronze, rotary piston PVC quide roller bronze, and teflon gaskets. Connection shall be API unions on size 15mm to 40mm above 40mm they shall be flanged to ANSI 300 RF.

Meter maximum operating pressure shall be 14 bar at 100 C operating temperature. Meter accuracy shall be + 2% of reading over given flow range with a repeatability of + 0.25 under constant flow conditions. Local digital readout shall be mounted on meter. Readout shall be in cubic meters.

Sanitary Sewer Manhole and Cover A. B. Detail construction of sewer manhole shall be as shown in the drawing. Manhole frame & cover shall be medium duty cast iron for sidewalk area and heavy duty steel in roadway area.

Part 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 Installation A. All plumbing roughing-in work to comply with the Uniform Plumbing Code/National Plumbing and Local Plumbing Codes. Lubricate cleanout plugs with mixture of graphite and linseed oil. Prior to building turnover remove cleanout plugs, re-lubricate and re-install using only enough force to ensure permanent leakproof joint. Install vacuum breakers on plumbing lines where contamination of domestic water may occur. Vacuum breakers must be fitted on all sanitary fittings where water supply connection is below the flood level and on hose bibs and flush valves. Where floor drains are located over occupied areas, provide waterproof installation. Install pressure reducing valves or flow control valves as required to limit maximum static pressure at plumbing fixtures to 10 psi (70 KPa). Install back flow prevention devices as indicated. Water Service Connection A. Building water service shall extend to a point not less than 1.5 m outside the structure or as shown in the drawing. Provide gate valve with valve box. Continuation from this point shall be covered by the site drawings and civil specifications.

Storm and Sanitary Sewer Service Connection A. Sanitary building sewer shall terminate at an access junction or manhole not less than 1.5 m outside the structure or as shown in the drawing. Storm sewer shall terminate 1.5 m outside of structure or as shown on the drawings.
