Peruvian 2009 ABCDE Korea Support Grant Winner

ABCDE 2009 Limberg Chero, from Peru

(Korea).- Limberg Chero from Peru is an Economic Integration and

Labour Economics for development researcher invited by the World
Bank to participate in its Annual Conference on Development
Economics for second time. The event is held in South Korea this
year, and is co-organized by the Government of Korea (Ministry of
Strategy and Finance and the Korea Development Institute, KDI).

Mr. Chero works Economic Integration items to the Andres Bello

Agreement (CAB in spanish) in University of Piura. His latest research
published by the CAB attend underlying problems in the Chile-
Ecuador-Peru relationship that would not allow higher levels of
Integration and Development in South Pacific area.

He also works on issues related to Labor Economics, particularly

behavior of transnational enterprises in Andean region, through Social
Watch Project from the Labour Development Program NGO. His
activity in this subject is developed as a researcher of Red Puentes,
global network of research on issues of social responsibility, and as
researcher of RedLat, Latin American network for research of
multinationals behavior in Latin America.

His youth, outstanding work and representation level have won the
support for inviting him and other Latin-American (Felipe Munoz from
Chile) as the only two representatives from the region in the event by
direct invitation from the World Bank.

The meeting is one of the world's best known series of conferences on

development, and an opportunity for many of the world's finest
development thinkers to present their ideas. Throughout the years,
this event has brought together researchers, policy makers, students,
private sector and NGO representatives, and prominent leaders from
all over the world, among them: the Prime Ministers of France,
Belgium and Norway, the President of the EU Commission, Ministers,
EU Commissioners, Nobel Prize laureates for economics, outstanding
business leaders and representatives of civil society.

ABCDE 2009: Límberg Chero, de Peru

(Corea del Sur).-Por segundo año consecutivo, el investigador en

temas de Integración Económica y Economía Laboral vinculados al
Desarrollo, Limberg Chero de Perú, fue invitado por el Banco Mundial
a participar de su Conferencia Anual sobre Economía del Desarrollo.
Este año el evento se desarrolló en Corea del Sur, con el apoyo del
gobierno de Corea del Sur vía su Ministerio de Finanzas y el Instituto
de Desarrollo Corea.

Chero trabaja temas de Integración Económica para el Convenio

Andrés Bello (CAB) por la Universidad de Piura. Su última
investigación publicada por el CAB aborda los problemas subyacentes
en la relación entre Chile-Ecuador y Perú que no permitirían mayores
niveles de Integración y Desarrollo en esa zona del Pacífico sur.

Además, trabaja temas de Economía Laboral vinculados

especialmente al comportamiento de las Transnacionales en la región
andina a través de sus actividades para el Social Watch Project del
Programa Laboral de Desarrollo. Su actividad en esta materia la
desarrolla como investigador parte de la Red Puentes, red mundial de
investigación en temas de responsabilidad social; y la RedLat, red
latinoamericana de investigación del comportamiento de
transnacionales en la región.

Su juventud, destacada labor y representatividad le han valido el

respaldo para invitarlo como becario, junto a otro latinoamericano
(Felipe Muñoz de Chile), como los únicos dos representantes de la
región en el evento por invitación directa del Banco Mundial.

Esta reunión es una de las más conocidas serie de conferencias sobre

el desarrollo del mundo, y constituye una oportunidad para muchos
de los mejores pensadores de desarrollo a presentar sus ideas. A lo
largo de los años, este acontecimiento ha reunido a investigadores,
políticos, estudiantes, representantes del sector privado y de
organizaciones no gubernamentales, y prominentes líderes de todo el
mundo, entre ellos: los primeros ministros de Francia, Bélgica y
Noruega, el Presidente de la Comisión de la UE, los ministros,
comisarios de la UE, Premios Nobel de Economía, líderes
empresariales y destacados representantes de la sociedad civil.
