FLY IT”
Morten Sondergaard
MOTIVATION:
DOING DREams
I may never have the midlife crisis everybody seems to be talking about. And if I get to avoid it, I am almost certain
it will be due to the fact that I chose to live this one dream at exactly the right time.
It’s not that I regret not having followed most of my dreams and ambitions – small or big; personal or business.
But flying round the globe in my own plane is something else – less important than my family or my friends but
certainly bigger than anything else I have experienced. An ultimate adventure, which somehow encapsulates
everything. Not a myth like we know from books or movies. But an adventure that was waiting for me –
waiting to be lived.
This had nothing to do with following either Jules Vernes or Christopher Columbus. I know that somehow, both in
fiction and real life, they were chasing the same frontiers – with one significant difference; my own “tour de force”
was so much easier, and its significance a personal one compared to their groundbreaking historical ventures.
Doing all this with friends - fellow entrepreneurs sharing my values and ambitions - added more than one man
could dream of.
We had our moments, but like modern men we mixed biz with pleasure, luxury with simplicity and to some extent
desire with necessity. With this book I want to share our adventure.

As a young man growing up in Denmark, Morten was more attracted to pure action than dipping his nose in books.
He barely finished high school and speeded head on down the entrepreneurial road. Today he is the founder of
more than 50 companies over the past 20 years.
After selling his first business within the chemical industry, he moved into high tech telecommunications in the late
80s, creating various companies in Denmark, Germany, Spain, Morocco, San Marino, United Kingdom, Hong Kong
and Brazil, all operating in the wholesale and value added service sector.
In the late 90s ventures from within the telecommunications market lead to the creation of various Internet startups
or SMS and Digital TV companies. Basically, Morten has surfed and enjoyed these and the latest waves of prosperity
– not least on the Internet.
To challenge the limits of the telco marketplace you simply must be a fighter. If you top that with the ability of surviving
not only the Internet bubble but also the 2009 financial crash with cash in your pocket, you can see the framework of
the businessman, Morten Sondergaard.
But his core Modus Vivendi has changed. In the last couple of years Morten stopped always eating the cake himself
realizing that it is much more exciting to share the success being an active investor instead of owning and controlling
everything himself - a shift that creates more value and bigger smiles.
His friends describes him as generous and ambitious but also lacking the gift of patience and almost unable to relax.
Morten is basically a curious guy. Not digging into the riddles behind the newest algorithm but constantly in pursuit
of an open minded view of a whole world – no surprise he learned to fly…
