Shell is expanding rapidly in mainland China. By the end of 2006 current investment on the mainland was about US$ 4 billion, one of the largest commitments of any international energy company. Providing sustainable clean energy solutions Shells business objective in China is to help address the countrys energy priorities including energy supply/security, environmental protection and energy efficiency, working in partnership with Chinese companies and customers to mutual benefit both in China and overseas. This includes support of the governments commitment to improve the environmental performance and efficiency of todays coalbased industry, and introduce clean energies to fuel the rapidly growing economy in a sustainable way. Shell is concentrating on natural gas and new ways of using coal as well as providing consultancy services on energy efficiency and technological solutions. In our fuels, lubricants, bitumen and chemicals businesses, we offer the latest technological and environmental solutions to contribute to sustainable development. All Shells core businesses are represented in China: Exploration and Production, Gas and Power, Downstream (Oil Products and Chemicals) and Renewable Energy.

Responsibilities: -Developing and maturing business opportunities within existing assets,including analysis and resolution of uncertainty and management of risk in competing commercial options. -Developing and protecting commercial aspects of assets,including management of the interface with NOC partners and ensuring that relevant assets are managed in line with Shells global and regional strategic interests etc. -Ensuring that Shells reputation is protected and that the governance arrangements in place are reflective of the market conditions and risks that Shell is exposed to. -Commercial and contractual evaluation,management of the existing portfolio of PSCs,GSAs,etc. and a good knowledge of the key requirements for the drafting,structuring and negotiation of commercial contracts,including acting as focal point on contract management issues for other functions within Shell. -Providing functional expertise on all contract-related matters in order to develop a common understanding of commercial issues. -Challenging assumptions underpinning investment and business opportunities. -Providing key strategic guidance and support to business colleagues involved in other business related activities such as New Business and Petroleum Economics. -Maintaining a watching brief on key market developments and pro-actively disseminating such information within the Shell organisation; actively seeking out engagement opportunities with external stakeholders in order to represents Shells views in the outside world; acting as an ambassador for Shell in all external meetings. -Identify,adopt,develop and share best practices,including better ways of working and sharing of relevant business information with colleagues. -Providing analytical support the China Asset Commercial team. Requirements: -A seasoned Commercial Professional with 6+ yrs experience in Energy industry -Strong commercial/business background, strong analytical skills. Economics experience would be a plus. -Experience in dealing with the complexities and risks. -Experience of negotiating and working with partners in Joint Venture, customers, or service providers. -Understanding of the upstream business and gas to market commercial value chain,

-Petroleum related technical exposure would be a definite plus. -Results orientated with excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. -External/customer focused with good motivation for results delivery, with proven track record of developing and maintaining external relationships. -Ability to adapt in a diverse culture environment and while having to deal with Chinese partners cultures. -Team player with anticipated good teamwork both within China UIB and with UIU and UIX teams. -Experience in value drivers, economics, financials Application Deadline: Thursday 05 December 2013 Number of Vacancies: 1
