HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Proverbs 29-31; Ephesians 1 Monday, September 16 Psa. 45:8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. Loving Savior: Am I so privileged as to make you glad? But how is that possible? You make me glad, but how can I make you glad? SURELY, BY MY LOVE. It is so cold and so weak today. I sorrowfully confess it is way too small, but I praise you that it is sweet to you. S of S. 4:10 How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices! I thank you for delighting in my love, feeble as it is. Help me love you more. How can I make you glad today? SURELY, BY MY PRAISE. It is not just the song of my lips, but the melody of my heart that you desire. My gratitude brings you gladness. Let me be more grateful. How else can I make you glad? SURELY, BY MY TESTIMONY. By my witness to __________ and __________ of your dying love and free grace. Somebody ought to testify! Lord give me the boldness and let it be me. To bring someone else to you is more acceptable than anything else I could bring. How else can I make you glad? SURELY, BY HOLINESS. By setting myself apart for your purposes. By consecrating my life today to your mission. Help me forgive my enemy, because that makes you glad. Help me give my money to you cheerfully, for that makes you glad. Help me lead others to Christ and see souls saved, for that makes you glad. If I proclaim your gospel, I am a sweet savor to you. Let me lift up the cross today, for that brings you honor. It is in my power even now to break the alabaster box of praise! Thank you Lord, for your wonderful mercies. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 7-9; Ephesians 4 Thursday, September 19 Mark 10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 1-3; Ephesians 2 Tuesday, September 17 John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. Fairest Lord Jesus: I PRAY TO EXPRESS PATIENCE. Jesus, you pleaded with the Jews even to the very last hour. And heavenly Father I intercede with you, waiting for you to be gracious in revival. I thirst. Lord, give us to drink. I thank. Lord, I am in the hand of mercy because of your longsuffering towards me. I PRAY TO EXPRESS PITY. Jesus, you cried, implying not only the loudness of your voice but also the tenderness of your tones. Help me similarly implore others to be reconciled to God, as though God did beg them by me. Give me a deep love to weep over the lost until their hearts are made willing by my cries. I PRAY BECAUSE OF YOUR PROVISION. Jesus, you provide exactly what will quench a souls thirst. Your sacrifice can bring peace to any guilty conscience. Your truth brings spiritual nutrition. Soul-thirst is terrible, but you can remove it. Restore our souls in revival! I PRAY AS A PROCLAMATION. Jesus, you welcomed any man who was thirsty. No other distinction is made except that of thirst. Lead me to some truly thirsty souls today, who do not want to argue or be contentious, but really want to know how to be saved. Some have a thirst for greed; some for advancement; some for pleasure or entertainment; some for knowledge; some for love; some for recognition; some for rest because they suffer. Give them a thirst for you! I PRAY BECAUSE OF YOUR PERSON. Jesus, the sinner must come to you, and not to a ritual or a religious ceremony. You bear our sins in your body, yourself on the tree. That is the star of hope to all who are lost in darkness. Drinking is the reception of the water of life, and anyone can drink. Let someone do so today! FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 10-12; Ephesians 5 Friday, September 20 1 Kings 8:45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. O Lord: We thank you for deliverance from evil, both physical and spiritual, and for our sure and certain hope of deliverance from evil eternal. We thank you for giving us good things for our soul and body, for mercies bestowed on our church and on our children, on our nation and on its rulers, on our relatives and on friends, as well as on ourselves. Isa. 45:19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right. You did not bid us in vain to seek your face in prayer. You hear; you intervene. And all this thanksgiving of ours is further heightened when we consider the mercies we have received, their greatness and their continuance. You maintained our cause even against all your glory and self-sufficiency. You are happy in yourself and stand in no need of us, yet you condescended to confer continual blessings on us. You are sovereign; you could shower your favor on thousands and leave us out altogether, yet you have maintained our cause. Psa. 4:1 Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. Lord, I am as vile and unworthy as others, and you see all my unworthiness, all my guilt, all my repeated provocations, and you see all your past mercies I have abused. Yet you continue to have mercy on me, and wait in order to be gracious to me. For this I give you thanks as one who waits on you, to serve you today with all my heart. Make me a blessing to your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 4-6; Ephesians 3 Wednesday, September 18 1 John 1:3-4 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. O Righteous Father: I praise you for how the faith you give me is a door, a door through which all the glory that dwelt between the cherubim can fill the secret places of my heart. Give me a living faith that deadens me to sin, and lifts me high up, above this worlds delights. May your holy purpose lay hold of my humble ministry, and cause the insignificant and small to be glorified by the infinite and eternal. You are the God of truth; as your lamb, keep me from poisonous pastures of error You are the God of light; make my life a transcript of your will You are the God of all grace, making me accepted in the Beloved 2 Pet. 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: The precious faith you give is the root of all my virtues, the channel of my communion with you, the weapon of choice for the battle ahead, the shield of safety when attacked, the evidence of eternity in my soul, and the passport to revival. Grant me more of this incalculably precious faith. Come Holy Spirit and set my heart on fire! Express through me the thunders of praise for the incomparable blessings in Christ and the triumphing greatness of your power. Make me an appropriate vessel for witnessing to someone who is lost today. Increase my capacity so I can increase your glory. So I ask it for Jesus worthy sake. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 1-3; Ephesians 6 Saturday, September 21 Psa. 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Oh, My Father: You are far more to me than all the wealth, honor, and peace I have so often envied in unbelievers. Help me empty myself of earthly desires so I can be filled with you! No longer let my wishes wander. No longer let my attention stray. Be my all in all. My flesh and my heart have failed me. My body cannot keep up with my spiritual desires. My heart is deceitful and often leads me astray. But you have never failed me, and never could. Be my protection and joy today. Keep my heart by divine love. Give me the right love for the right things, and the right people, at the right time. Make it a holy love that never succumbs to sin. Drive sinful desires far out to sea. Replace them with the fruit of your Spirit. There is nothing desirable except you. This is what will set my heart on a correct course. If I think I dont really believe that, then let me state it by faith and pray for you to help mine unbelief! All other things are lesser things. Let my heart abide alone in you who abides forever. I need to live near you. To follow afar off leads to being caught-up in sin. Help me keep Christ at the center, since I profess to be your servant. You require spiritual purity; give it to me by your pure Spirit. The nearer I am to you, the less I am affected by distractions. Attractions of earth grow strangely dim in the light of your glory and grace. Access to your presence through prayer is a marvelous cure for a multitude of sins! I approach you as the source of all good. Grant me strength by your grace. Be my portion forever, through Jesus my Lord. Amen.

YOU dont have to worry, and dont you be afraid Joy comes in the morning, troubles they dont last always For theres a friend in Jesus who will wipe your tears away And if your heart is broken, just lift your hands and say
Oh I know that I can make it; I know that I can stand No matter what may come my way, my life is in your hands So when your tests and trials, they seem to get you down And all your friends and loved ones are nowhere to be found Remember theres a friend in Jesus who will wipe your tears away And if you heart is broken just lift your hands and say Oh I know that I can make it; I know that I can stand No matter what may come my way, my life is in your hands With Jesus I can take it; with Him I know I can stand No matter what may come my way, my life is in your hands Kirk Franklin, 1998

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

INSTRUCTIONS:

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

Living Faith! How Faith Works, Luke 7 Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
