Winter Skate Event 2012


Its time again for our Annual Winter Skate Event! This event will take place at the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School (in the Stone Street Room) in January. Look for an exact date in a future email and on Facebook. Come and join your friends and meet new ones. There will be skating, snacks, art and crafts for the young kids as well as a raffle. We hope you can make it! Please RSVP at massagbell@gmail.com Directions can be provided per request. Please note: Skating equipment is not provided by the facility. All children must wear helmets on the ice.

NEW Tots Program


The Massachusetts Chapter of AG Bell revitalized the chapter last year to focus on mentor programs. We started with Bells Kids, ages 7-12 and the Teen Program for those ages 13-17 years old. We are happy to announce that we now have a new Tot Program for children ages 4-6. Beth Henry is in charge of the program and has many events planned for next year. Some of the events include the winter skate, a bowling event, a hiking event and more. To learn more about the events and to join the program, please contact us at massagbell@gmail.com.

AG Bell National
AG Bell 2012 National Convention Save the dates, June 28th- July 2nd, 2012 for the AG Bell 2012 Convention in Scottsdale, Ariz. Its the largest gathering of families, professionals and adults with hearing loss dedicated to a listening and spoken language outcome. It will be held at the Westin Kierland Resort. Please see www.agbell.com for more details. Loft Program 2012 The Loft (Leadership Opportunities for Teens) Program is a four-day program designed for teens with hearing loss to develop skills in individual leadership teamwork, understanding group dynamics and communication, public speaking, and self advocacy. The program is structured in such a way that participants increase their self-confidence and their understanding of their own strength and abilities through activities designed to challenge them to push beyond their comfort zone, while in a supportive environment. Walk for Hearing Recap


On October 16, 2011, Massachusetts AG Bell walked together as a team at Artesani Park in Brighton MA for the Walk for Hearing. Thanks to everyone who came out to support the great cause. The walk itself raised over $56,000 and our team was able to raise $4,000!! Funds go to both HLAA and our chapter. We anticipate this walk will continue to grow each year. We hope to see again next October for another great event. Thanks again!
