The Fourth Squad reports the details of an Assault which occurred on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 9:05 P.M. in Valley Stream. ******UPDATE******
The Nassau County Police report the arrest of Nashane Peterkin, age 16 of 144-49 231 st Street Springfield Gardens for the above listed crime. A joint investigation was conducted by the Fourth Squad, Special Victims Squad, Nassau County District Attorneys Office, New York State Police, New York State Park Police and New York City Police Department. in Howard Beach, Queens. Peterkin is charged with Attempted Sexual Abuse 1 st Degree. Additionally the New York State Park Police are charging him with Rape 1st degree, Assault 2nd degree and Strangulation. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Monday, September 9, 2013. A press conference has been tentatively scheduled for Monday, September 9, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. to update the details of the arrest. Location is to be determined. The suspect was taken into custody on Sunday, September 08, 2013 at 6:50 A.M.
