Be sure to check your eligibility for the above Private Awards as well as others available at: www.sfu.ca/dean-gradstudies/awards/privateawards/all-awards.html Private Awards can be held only in Fall 2013 unless the award terms note otherwise. Be sure to check your eligibility for the GFs at: http://www.sfu.ca/dean-gradstudies/awards/graduate-fellowships.html GFs can be held Fall 2013, Spring 2014 or Summer 2014. MBB recommends that students request GFs for Summer 2014, since there are far fewer TAships available in Summer.
Adjudication The MBB Scholarship Committee ranks applications based on research achievement and academic excellence, and then makes recommendations for awards taking into account the available award budget and the current and past funding held by each applicant. Students not recommended for immediate funding will be ranked on a B-list for use in the event of unanticipated funding availabilities. The Scholarship Committee decisions regarding award recommendations and rankings are final. MBB Dept. policy is that a GF or Private Award will NOT be recommended for a term where the student is supported by a major external fellowship (eg. CIHR or NSERC); such students may instead be eligible for a supplemental Provost Award (ask Grad Program Assistant). However, if your external support ends before Summer 2014, apply now to get a GF after your support ends.
