AGE LIMIT: 18 to 32 Years (for all the above posts) as on last date of filling of online application form Relaxation in upper age limit. a) For SC / ST = 5 Years b) For OBC = 3 Years c) ** For Ex-Trade Apprentices of Ordnance Factories = To the extent of period for which they had undergone Apprenticeship Training. Note: ** This age relaxation is not for the post of Labour-SS. d) For PH Candidates UR category = 10 years SC/ST category = 15 years OBC category = 13 years. e) For Departmental Candidates with three years continuous service in Central Government UR Category = Up to 40 years SC/ST Category = Up to 45 years OBC Category = Up to 43 years f) For Ex-Serviceman (with not less than 06 Months continuous service) UR Category = Period of Military Service (service in the Armed forces of the Union of India) plus 3 years SC/ST Category = 08 years plus Period of Military Service. PHOTO & SIGNATURE: One recent passport size photograph (not more then three months old) with applicants name and signature under the photo as per sample given on the website should be scanned and uploaded in the space provided in the application format. The candidate should scan his photo & signature which has been put on white paper with Black/ Blue pen. The candidates must ensure that the uploaded photograph & signature are proper i.e. clearly identifiable/ visible, application having poor quality photo or signature are liable to be rejected. The photo should not be more then 100Kb. The candidates should paste the same photograph (clearly legible ) duly attested by a Gazetted officer, on the hard copy of application as scanned / uploaded at the time up of online application. 5. a. b. CRUCIAL DATE : The crucial date for determining the age limit, education qualification & experience etc. shall be the last date of submission of on-line application i e closing date of filling up of online application form. EXAMINATION DATE & ADMIT CARD: For Examination date and details about downloading of admit card, the candidate must visit this website (http://ocfs.gov.in) again after 30 days of last date of submission of online applications. MODE OF SELECTION, SCHEME & SYLLABUS :For all the Posts i.e Tailor-SS, Fitter Gen. Mech.-SS, Electrician-SS, Millwright-SS, Fitter Electronic-SS & Labour-SS The Selection process shall comprise of Written Test of 100 Marks and Trade Test (Practical). The Trade Test (Practical) shall be only qualifying in nature, without any marks Written Test Shall be fully objective type. The syllabus of the Written Test for a Trade will be broadly as that of NCTVT examination Syllabus for that Trade. The syllabus of the trade test (Practical) will be as per the Trade Test Specification of the Semi-Skilled grade of the relevant trade (Details available below this page.) On the basis of merit list based on marks obtained in written test, candidates 1.25 times the number of vacancies shall be called for Trade Test (Practical). The final select list shall be based on marks in the written test only, the Trade test (Practical) being qualifying nature. The final select list would be displayed on the website and at the notice board at the main gate of the factory.

(ii)Trade Test As per trade test specifications, a workman will be mainly engaged on handling/shifting of material. He will also be required to clean machines, floors of shop/areas around machines and other similar places, if and as necessary. The trade test may be designed accordingly to test the aptitude of the candidate. However, this test will be qualifying nature only. Syllabus of Written Test Numerical Aptitude - Number systems, Fractions, Decimals & Percentages, Ratio & proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Time & Distance, Time &Work. LANGUAGE FOR WRITTEN TEST/ TRADE TEST: The question paper of the written test will be Bilingual in both English and Hindi. CAUTION TO ALL APPLICANTS: Some unscrupulous elements may approach the candidate with the assurance of procuring appointment for him/her in the factory through illegal gratification. Candidate must not fall prey to such false assurance or exploitation and must not entertain or encourage such elements in any way. Trade Test Specification
FITTER GENERAL MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Under this trade, the specifications of Fitter General Mechanical, Pump Attendant, Motor Attendant, Filer/Vice-man, Riveter, Fettler, Assembler, Marker Engg. Scraper, Compressor Attendant and A.C. Plant Operator are being merged.

FITTER GENERAL MECHANIC (SEMI SKILLED)

Ability to start & stop the compressor , Pumps & Motors , carry out routine lubrication, observe pressure Gauges, take meter reading , control water temperature where necessary. Ability to detect minor running faults with the compressor motor and pump in his charge. Ability to distinguish between compressor oils and other oils. Ability to pack glands in the pump and elementary working knowledge of centrifugal pump or ram pump. Ability to use file and chisel to carry out simple hand operation such as filling , tapping , Sawing , Screwing, Chipping etc. to the tolerance considered reasonable for each operation. Ability to estimate correct length of rivets required and to set up rivets hot or cold by hand are pheumatic hammer & should have working knowledge of various types of rivets & their use . Ability to use Scraper/Chisels for the purpose of removing scale marks , line scores & small dents from components or raw materials , bringing these into a condition suitable for inspection. Ability to grind simple tools, scrapers , chisels etc. for own used. Ability to read simple drawings and mark-off correctly the centre of holes to be drilled and straight lines on the components with appropriate tools including vernier/height gauge etc. are carrying or drilling and boring. Ability to take simple measurement direct from existing plant are stores and transcribe them to fresh components . Ability to carry out simple assembling job of repetitive nature and should have knowledge of various components used in a particular store under assembly . Ability to read simple Blue Prints or take measurement using a foot rule and calipers (internal & external) . Ability to carry out simple fitting operations such as fitting, chipping , reaming , taping or screw cutting by hand tapes & dies.

 Elementary ability to use simple workshop machines such as that required for drilling and rough grinding on emery stone. Ability to read micrometer and Vernier and other suitable instruments normally connected with this trade. Must have elementary knowledge of working of refrigeration compressors , blower and other equipments in Air-conditioning Plants. Ability to start and stop Air-Conditioning Plants in proper sequences . Ability to read Volt Meter, Thermometer, Hydrometer & RecordPressure temperature, relative humidity etc. Ability to carry out minor repair of refrigeration compressor, cooling tower , blowers, descaling of condenser tubes, chilled water system of AC plants & inter cooler of Air-compressor using this descaling compounds . Ability to detect leakage of refrigerant in Air Conditioning plant and take measure to prevent loss of refrigerant from the system. Must carry tools, spare parts and job pertaining to his own work weighing 20 Kg. (approx.). Ability to do repairs and maintenance of plant & machinery in his work area. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights. In addition to these ability to carry out any other work of similar nature. Trade Test The trade test for a Semi-Skilled grade fitter would be the manufacture of double ended. Hexagonal Box wrench for say 7/8 and 3/4 bolts to a total tolerance of .008 across flats from a mild steel forging provided ( RFI trade test No.5 or similar).
