Description of Contribution:

During the month of March, the Psi Phi Chapter of NRHH has excelled in all aspects of
an organization. As a relatively new chapter, we have grown a great deal over the past
year in terms of improvements in community involvement programming and recognition.
Over the past month, we have been able to grow with these improvements, while gaining
the recognition and support from much of our general body.

At the beginning of March, we were frantically getting ready for our regional No Frills
conference at Florida State University. Working with RHA, we were able to send one
delegate to represent NRHH within the regional boardroom. Our organization was able to
submit some quality bids for NRHH and for some members of NRHH. The Psi Phi
Chapter created and submitted a bid for the NRHH Chapter of the Year, President of the
Year, and NRHH Member of the Year. During the course of the conference, our delegate
represented us well in the boardroom and at the conference, and we walked about with
two of the awards! NRHH was able to secure the NRHH Chapter of the Year, for the third
year in a row, and the President of the Year award for our very own Brennan Carter. This
was an incredibly motivating feat for our general body, and they really became active for
the duration of March.

The quality and quantity of our OTMs have also improved, as many members have
further been educated on the importance of these awards. As promised, our OTM
Specialist made and served a spaghetti dinner for the general body during one of our
March meetings for their involvement in submitting Of the Month Awards. In February,
he had promised the members that if they were able to submit a total of 20 OTMs, he
would make them a nice dinner for their dedication. NRHH took this and ran with it,
bringing in a total of 24 OTMs for the campus. This was an amazing feat. We were also
notified in March that we won one regional OTM for our Executive Board Member, Scott
Busiel. We also were able to win 8 of our 10 submissions on the state level, allowing our
residents and members to realize their importance and impact as an organization on the
state, regional, and national levels.

Our OTM Specialist was also able to create and utilize a new form of OTM evaluation
for the month of March, allowing nominators the opportunity to become more aware of
what the committees are looking for in quality nominations. During the dinner meeting,
Scott was able to open up an informational OTM writing session, allowing the members
to learn the art in OTM writing. We have seen the impact this month, as we have a total
of 14 nominations in 8 different categories.

And while this is one form of programming, NRHH has been more involved within
UNCW and local communities. We are working with our Center for Leadership
Education and Service in planning an Environmental Advocacy Fair for some of the
elementary schools in the area. Our members are taking active roles, and they are excited
about the opportunity to give back to the children in our community. All of the activities
involved the kids making something that they can take back home with them. This will
enhance their learning and truly help them become more global citizens.

With all of our plans and accomplishments, NRHH is deserving of this Of the Month
award. They have fulfilled and exceeded the goals of the national organization:
community engagement and recognition.
