Facility of Internship/training for students of management and other courses at Mumbai Port Trust --------Mumbai Port Trust offers facility for internship/training upto 2 months between May and August, 2013 to students studying at graduation/post-graduation level. 2. Salient features are: (1) (2) Internship/training is open for students pursuing both Graduation and Post Graduation courses. Period of internship/training may be upto 2 months between May and August 2013 as per the curriculum of the institution/college/university. Requests for other areas can also be considered on specific proposal and decided on the basis of quality of proposal and requirement of Port.

(4) Preference would be given to students from (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (5) local institutes/colleges and institutes/colleges in Maharashtra children of MbPT employees girl students handicapped students SC/ST students

During the internship/training, students would be given orientation at the Port for about a week as also some classroom training on corporate communication and presentation skills. Thereafter, students would be assigned a project or special work based on their field of study/specialization which may include a period of study with other related organizations/ port users/stakeholders to give them exposure from outside. Some projects/studies identified are given in the enclosed list. Candidates and their universities/colleges/institutions can also propose projects. Selected internists would be granted stipend of Rs.8000/per month for under graduate students and Rs.12000/- per month for post graduate students on pro-rata basis. Each student would have to submit a report on the project/ research/study/work so assigned and retain a copy for submission to the institute/college/university. The best implementable report may be suitably rewarded. It is clarified that the offer of internship/training does not ensure any appointment after completion of the course, as such appointments are to be through an open recruitment selection process based on the regulations.

3. Applications may be made by the students supported by letter from the institution/college/university or by the institution/ college/university with applications from the students nominated. The applications should furnish details of the institution/college/university with recognition/registration and brief course details and the curriculum of the students including the period of internship prescribed in the curriculum. The application of the student should cover personal details, qualification, course of study, etc. 4. Selection of the students will be by a Committee of Port Officers.

5. Applications complete in all respects along with documents specified may be forwarded in envelope superscribed "Application for Internship" and addressed to: Shri P. K. Gopi, Sr. Asstt.
