WALMART SWIMMING AGAINST THE TIDE ON ALASKA SALMON SAY ALASKA FISHERMEN AT PLANNED PROTEST OF WALMART Demand change of Walmart policy that denies millions of Americans access to sustainable Alaskan seafood What: In a massive show of strength, scores of hard working fishing families from across Alaska, along with other interested parties and representatives of the Alaska seafood industry, will converge on Walmarts South Anchorage store this Wednesday to demand the nations largest grocery retailer do what is right and correct its policy that denies millions of Americans access to the worlds gold standard of sustainable seafood, Alaska salmon, and instead forces foreign salmon from Russia and elsewhere onto their plates.

The protest will takes place one day before senior Alaska government officials will meet with Walmart sustainability executives to explain the comprehensive state fisheries management laws that Alaska has followed and have made Alaskan seafood the international gold standard for responsibly managed fisheries for more than five decadesincluding enabling this years most successful overall salmon season in the history of Alaska.
