CLASSROOM OBSERVATION

On 2nd October 2012, Ive made an observation in Year 2 for World of Arts Visual. I choose Year 2 Amanah at SK. Bukit Tunggal Kuala Terengganu. The envolment is 36 from 20 girls and 16 boys. This is the first class according to the ability. The class had been conducted by Puan Rosmawati binti Harun.

Learning and Teaching Standard Estethic perception : Arts application : Teacher shows the samples of the cards which have been done. Teacher shows the methods how to decorate the frame by blowing the straws. Creative expression : Arts appreciation Teaching material The pupils do the activity according to their creativity.

: The pupils will show their cards. : The samples of the designs of the frame on the cards.

The things needed

Tools

- brushes, pallete and straws.

Medium drawing paper and water colours. Skill required : Creative, innovation and commercial.

Teachers Teaching and Learning Comments From my observations, while the teacher handled the set induction, the students were very excited to continue the lesson. The teacher had shown the sample of the cards which used the blowing techniques. During the lesson, the samples and the tools had been brought by the teacher to help the students to make the picture frames. The teacher had brought the samples, drawing sets, pallete, staws, and water colours. The approach or the theory had been used is the teacher explaining and demonstration or show in the smaller group. Firstly, the teacher explained to the class the methods in blowing the design. After that, the teacher demonstrated to make the frame by blowing the water colours using the straws. Three pupils had been asked to try the methods. Then, the teacher devided the students to six groups. The teacher distributed the tools and the medium to the groups. The students looked very excited when the tools had been distributed to them. The teacher guided every groups while doing the activity using the blowing technique. The teacher guided them until they finished making the frame.

The Teachers Strenghts and Weaknesses In my opinion, there were a lot of strengths while teaching and learning process had been done. One of strengths is the pupils did the best for the activity and they were behave. They had been given the opportunity to try to do the design before the teaching and learning started. Therefore, they could do the work confidentiy. The teacher also succed to conduct the class. But, there were a few weaknesses in this teaching and learning process. The pupils involved are smart and active. The teacher should give more opportunities in trying to create the designs of the frame to more students before they start their work. The teacher suppose to form the smaller group to make the groups easier to control and conduct.

Teaching and Learning Strenghts and Weaknesses Overall, this lesson had been prepared by the teacher successfully according to the Year 2 syllabus. It had an attractive set induction to attract the pupils interest. The content of the lesson had been taught according to the time started. The teacher also had done the good job by giving the appreciation by putting on the good work on the board at the end of the lesson. There were several weaknesses in this lesson. The teacher should form the smaller group, 3 to 4 students in every group. It will help the teacher to control and conduct the class. The teacher also should used the power point to display the slaids designs to replace the cards. It will encourage the students in using the information and communication technology (ICT). The information and communication technology (ICT) can produce the interesting and innovative lesson, so the students can enjoy the lesson. They will use the criticize thinking skill, creative and innovative to increase their knowledge in learning.

Lastly, the objective had been achieved by looking at the students works. The presented the good work. The teacher also showed the good role model and has a high dedication in conveying the lesson to the students.
