a. Method of Instruction: This course is a 100% online course utilizing the TAMUCT Blackboard platform. You will use the University ID (UID) and the 6-digit University PIN to logon to this system. Students will access all course materials (except textbook), assignments, student-instructor and student-student communication, activities, quizzes, exams, and resource links via Course web site. Online learning requires students to be very self disciplined. Be sure that you understand and are prepared to comply with all required class assignments and deadlines. The Course Outline in this Syllabus shows the basic schedule for the semester. b. Method of Communication: I am readily accessible through Messages, which I check often. I will be back with you within 24 hours during the week (Mon-Thursday), and within 36 hours on the weekend. Messages is found in the Menu of the course. Only use my TAMUCT email as a last resort, because I am dedicated to Messages. With Messages, I know the course in which you are enrolled. You can also Message very easily with other students in the class. You don't have to find their emails. c. Online Office Hours: Set an appointment for a specific time is the best way. The meeting will be by Message or by phone. Make the appointment at least 24 hours ahead. Remember I do check Messages, and I will respond through that part of the course as well as verbally. After the course begins, there will be definite online open office hours. The Announcement of the hours and day will be in Messages. d. UNILERT: UNILERT is an emergency notification service that gives Texas A&M University-Central Texas the abilityto communicate important health and safety information quickly via email and text message. By enrolling in UNIVLERT, University officials can quickly pass on safety-related information, regardless of your location. Please enroll at http://www.ct.tamus.edu/unilert/index.php

A student of this institution is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from a university-affiliated bookstore. The same text book may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer, but make sure that the source can deliver the book by the opening day of class. Often times lower prices are a reason for less than prompt service.
