Overview

DeepRiser combines an intuitive GUI (Graphical User Interface), with powerful analytical capabilities, to provide a comprehensive engineering tool for the design and analysis of drilling and top tensioned production riser systems. DeepRiser is an engineering tool rather than a finite element package. Models are defined in engineering terms rather than finite element terms and all data is presented in meaningful units. It features highly automated analysis capabilities with multiple load cases and automatic results generation. At its core, DeepRiser has a highly validated finite element analysis engine. DeepRiser is used extensively across the offshore industry. MCS Kenny has maintained a continuous update program of DeepRiser for over 10 years.

Key Features
Integrated riser analysis package incorporating static,
time domain dynamic, frequency domain dynamic and modal analysis capabilities Highly intuitive user interface to allow for rapid data specification "Project Database" structure for easy management of input data, analyses and results Drilling riser drift-off and weak-point analysis capability Drilling riser deployment analysis capability Wake-flow interference analysis incorporating Shear 7 interface for VIV analysis Time and frequency domain fatigue analysis capabilities Horizontal trajectory analysis capability Optional drilling riser recoil analysis capability Automatic finite element model generation and component modeling Automatic riser stack-up builder Pipe-in-pipe modelling and multiple auxiliary line specification capabilities Soil/Casing interaction Automated postprocessing of design specific results 3D visualisation of system behaviour Based on highly validated finite element analysis engine

Applications
Drilling Risers: - Static, time domain dynamic, frequency domain dynamic and modal analyses with Shear 7 interface - Drift-off/weak point and deployment analyses - Parameter study (top tension/offset/mud weight) analyses - Time and frequency domain fatigue analyses Top-Tensioned Production Risers: - Static, time domain dynamic, frequency domain dynamic and modal analyses with Shear 7 interface - Time and frequency domain fatigue analyses - Clearance/interference and wake flow analyses - Special features for spar riser modeling Optional recoil analysis module incorporating detailed hydro-pneumatic tensioner system model and drilling mud flow model Automated component modeling includes: Tensioner system, Telescopic joint, Flex joints (linear & non-linear), BOP/LMRP, Wellhead, Conductor-casing and Soil structure Integrated software suite provides full range of analytical capabilities within a single riser analysis program.

Benefits
An engineering tool design philosophy and Windows user interface facilitates quick and easy familiarization with the program Allows complex riser models to be created in a relatively short period of time, which results in increased productivity. Allows engineers to concentrate on engineering rather than modeling. Productivity-enhancing features including highly automated analyses with multiple load cases and automatic results generation Input & output data specified in meaningful units Powerful post-processing facilities allows graphical output of all results variables in the form of time histories, spectra, envelopes, snapshots and statistics Compatible with real-time management software onboard riser
